Is opening Nirvana fair?

IMO,
yes opening nirvy is fair. a lot of people have alts, or not-so-great gear and it would be a hassle to, or unlikely to be able to, farm.
its not casters vs aps. a lot of casters ARE aps, in the sense that pretty much every person rerolled a sin because they are so damn OP and its easy as fak to make money.
with that said, @ larkray, if all nirvy bosses had been phys immune, then not everyone would reroll sin. everyone would reroll casters, and again, those that would fail to adapt would be the ones not getting in squads.
personally, i plan to level up many alts. so yes opening is fair. i can go open for my main and make more money per run. or i can go open for others and make money with barely any time, and no effort, spent.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
i thin the OP squad ..you know the 7 min ones..should be paying 500k a key.[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=2527935005&dateline=1300027633[/SIGPIC]

Hmm, lets see..
To open or not to open, that is the question..
No seriously.. at lvl 100+ you have so much free time I see no reason NOT to spend it doing nirvana runs all day long. Yes, I consider people who open nirvana instead of running it on their mains lazy. There is NO reason why you should fail nirvana even if your gear is epicly fail and your entire squad is comprised of "whimpy" 2.33 at best. As for opening with keys from alts, go for it, they are your alts, do what the hell you want with their junk. As for the amount payed for keys.. lets see now..
Lets say that all you get per run is one single uncanny, which is averaged at 400K (just a number from the top of my head, even though last time I looked they were 450K..) while one key is bought for 150K, but lets say 200K for easier math (which I hate anyway).
An average nirvana run for a non-aps squad with people who actually know how to play their toons and have average gear (that is TT90 +3 mostly, or rank gear if they had their way during the sales, with maybe perfects in the gear) takes around what.. 30 min? 40 min?
Now let us say that you have 100 keys (I say only 100 cause people who have more obviously prefered to do absolutly nothing with their keys for quite some time or simply have that many on alts in which case as stated before just use alt for opening, I don't give a rats droppings.. damned be the censorship..). 100 keys used to open nirvana is resulted in...20 mil which takes in average 5 min to open (thats REALLY untrue cause it always takes time to find that last member and for them to get there and lag and.. you get the image..) which is 500 min or more proper 8 hours and about 20 min give or take lag and loading screens. Now lets say you do nirvana runs during that time.. 30 min per run is... around 16 runs or so, again time for loading and organizing. 16 runs times 400K is.. 6.4 mil. Most would say, AHA!! its better to sell keys from my main nirvana runner!! But when you look at it in the LONG RUN (which is always nicer to look at) you will notice that indeed you COULD make 20 mil in 8 hours or so IF you can afford to play 8 hours a day and do NOTHING BUT OPEN NIRVANA (which can drive people insane in my opinion) OR you can simply do several nirvana runs during the measly 2-5 hours most normal people play, which include chatting to your friends and helping faction members do their BHs or FB or general bosses and whatnot.
So lets recap it for everyone so there will be no confusion.
You can get 4 nirvana keys from various events (BHs and the guy in tide for example) a day. 4 keys for opening is 800K. 4 keys to those who actually spend those 2 hours a day on doing nirvana runs is 1.6 mil. Its twice more profitable to do runs. Yes, it takes time to do runs but I see it this way, you are 100+, do you HONESTLY have THAT much to do now? really? REALLY? well grats if you do, most 100+ I know don't, at best they spend their days in PK mode down at OT..
You have time to spend? do runs, its better. you have alts with 500+ keys? go for it, spend 8 hours opening with them, its easy money. Is it fair to pay 200K per key? I don't give a damn, I don't intend to give my hard earned keys (yeah right) to people when I can use them to run my own nirvanas. If you want to sell your key cause you don't want to do nirvana and prefer to poke people in OT or do some BHs or TT or just generally sit around for hours and lol at WC and go grab your 200K now and then, be my guest.
This is my opinion, if you don't like it tough luck, you are welcome to complain to the universe, see if it cares.
Wish you all many happy nirvana runs, keys in or keys out.I need not tell lies, I make truth happen.

I used to have people tell me they refused to go with anyone less than 4.0 aps. -shrugs- It's just a lil harder to find squads at times that isn't aps crazy. But I could be wrong and that could just be me. =/
No, you're correct. Making a non-4-5 aps squad isn't as easy as others try to tell you it is, simply due to laziness.
Any squad activity (mainly BH) that takes more than 15 minutes annoys most low aps players. They're all used to leeching, and thus don't want to join in many runs that take longer than that alloted time.
I've tried on many different occasions to make regular NV squads, and have finally reached the point that I gave up. In fact, I actually NPC my NV keys just to clear space in my bank.
Although I find the 150k-200k opening fee fair, I see absolutely no point in wasting my keys to help one group who will not accept a low aps barb even as a debuffer or try forming a squad with other low aps toons who are too lazy to exert any effort.
Maybe the lazy people wouldn't mind farming and the exclusive 5 aps players wouldn't have such a monopoly on the instance if the required amount of mats to upgrade wasn't so high. Some people risk to employ me
Some people live to destroy me
Either way they die0 -
as for most i also think paying for a key is fair,
When i started soloing nirvana i was suprised that so many was willing to open for 10-130k and i ask"why don't you go on a run instead"
The answer was either "i dont like nirvana" or "i have so many keys i might awell sell them"
Ive only taken on ebarb in nirvana and there was 2 simple reason 1.X2 was about to end and i wanted to use the rest of my keys and 2.he only wanted 2 cannys and the 175k open fee
Any other time i solo takes 20mins i get asked all the time"can i come with you"i say no all the time dont care if there aps or not i dont mind spending 20mins in nirvana why take 2 aps and make it 15m and they get half drops lol.I do run peoples 99 key quest thou if they ask and the people that say"oh i need to make 40m fast take me with you" just pi..ss me off i farmed my gear i squaded untill i didnt need a squad so all in all i value the people that sell keys and if people dont want to thats fine just dont answer my WC :-)0 -
I say no !!!!! i say make fc the same everyone would need a key or token as will...0

I have a 5.0 archer (worst of the 5aps, I know) but can still hop in Nirvana squads usually with little problem. I just don't want to.
I have 5 chars over 90, and a couple others lower level. Some of the time I spend here I like to play with them. I also like to farm TT, or run FC with my wife (on mains or alts). Do things with my other chars, or my faction.
I don't WANT to live, day in, day out, in Nirvana which let's be honest, can be mind-numbingly boring. The reason NOT to spend the whole day in Nirvana is to NOT be a mindless zombie running the same boring instance over and over and over again.
I'll run it on occasion to change things up, and I'll also save up 99 keys to do on 2x, or I'll also just go open and make some quick coin opening on 2x. Not because I'm lazy, but because I don't want to.
If the game is gonna give me free keys every day that I have to do no work for, and somoene else is willing to pay me to have said item in an area for literally all of 2mins, then all the power to them. Especially mutli-clienting now, I could just park a 100+ at Nirvana entrance and open all day during 2x (when ppl tend to pay more), while still enjoying playing on an alt --> this renders the 'I-have-free-time-may-as-well-live-in-Niravana' argument pointless.
I'm sure I'm not the only one (as pointed out in DATALEC's post when he asks people), so that kind of renders the argument about the 'power' in arcanes hands moot. Some of us just don't want to live in there and will just sell keys for a quick buck.
And I'm not saying anything against people who do farm 100% of their Nirvana gear. Great for you, to each his own.0 -
I am low aps BM and would LOVE some non aps Nirvy runs. I don't mind taking 30 minutes per run or more. I am on Dreamweaver server also. If you wanna do some runs, let me know!
PS. I don't mind running with wizzies, psychics, venos, or clerics. lol The more the merrier to me.
Fact is, most people are too damn impatient in this game. Calm down people!Xarathox - Dreamweaver wrote: »No, you're correct. Making a non-4-5 aps squad isn't as easy as others try to tell you it is, simply due to laziness.

Ikarium, sorry you feel that spending 1-2 hours a day doing nirvana runs is a waste of your time. Oh wait, you are 5 aps so its not 1-2 hours, its at most 1 hour. And you clearly misunderstoon what I wrote, I never once have said you should immerce yourself in nirvana, by all means DO collect keys for those 99 key quests, I do that too cause I can only play 4 hours a day and somedays I don't do nirvana at all, but not doing nirvana EVER on your main is, at least in my opinion, being lazy. You don't have to agree but thats my opinion. Oh and just to be clear, I also have several toons I like to play on, and I prefer doing TT and helping on general killing rather than spend time finidng a nirvana squad, but I would still not sell my keys from main (again for the 99 key quest reason). As for multi-client, since I clearly said that you SHOULD sell those keys from your alts since there is nothing much to do with them (unless you take your alt with you into nirvana which is also an option but means you sold they key to yourself) I don't see a reason NOT to park your toon near nirvana and spend the day selling keys while you level up on the alt.
BTW, you said you simply don't want to so your point is, no offence meant, irrelevant. The thread is about whether its fair for people to buy keys for 200K or so or whether its not, not about if you want to do runs or not. I accept that I may too have deviated from that point a bit in my post, but the main theme is there. Fair? yes cause who cares what you do with your keys. Profitable? Not even in a year cause those who do runs earn twice more from it, especially if they are high aps.
I wish to congratulate any who have the patiance to spend hours ingame selling keys, I know I would have gone insane after an hour of following WC looking for people to open nirvana for. But again, my opinion, you are entitled to yours.
Oh and Pythe, agreed, people are indeed too obsesed with fast runs. Can't be helped really, most people these days just don't enjoy the game like they used to. Can't see why really, not like you have something MORE important to do if you already ARE playing, right?I need not tell lies, I make truth happen.
