Best arcane DD?

I was going to post this in the general class discussion forum but there isn't one so I figured this is the next best place. Apologies if it isn't! b:cute

What is the best arcane DD, I like arcane classes, I like damage and I have a range of good arcane gear for 90+ already. Psy, Wiz, Mystic? Which one will get me into an FF squad easier? I know for a fact my wizard doesn't get into squads easy and its 95, Haven't really been in FF as a squad where I do damage yet and I haven't got a psy yet...

I'm only asking because I don't want to spend a lot of money getting all 3 to rank 9 and having to refine the equipment all over again. I want one focus and I really cannot decide!!

    If the Wizard can spare the MP to spam Undine and the Psy has Stone Smasher, id reverse the positions of those two.

    If I remember right, psychic has 6 aoes total, 2 of which you can spam.

    Veno is the only arcane DD that can work really good with fists.
    AP classes are a real butt pounding...

    I would say a Psychic has the highest DPS among AA classes.

    Wizards have the highest spike dmg.

    Veno contributes the most towards the entire party's dmg with debuffs, amp and bramble.

    No clue about Mystics as DDs, im guessing they come pretty close to psychics since they have skills with short channeling and their summons increases in power when their magic attack goes up with refines.

    No AA class is easy to get into parties for Frost or NV though, at least if you wanna join as DD. Really only clerics that doesn't have to struggle to find parties. Mystics that knows how to support well as healer would probably be in that category to.

    It's really out of wizard and psychic then, so if we compare similar attacks.

    Spirit Blast Level 10
    Range 28.5 meters
    Mana 144
    Channel 0.6 seconds
    Cast 1.4 seconds
    Cooldown 3.0 seconds
    Weapon Soulsphere

    Requisite Cultivation Spiritual Initiate
    Deals a damage equals to you basic magical attack plus
    100% gear attack and another
    2043.6 Earth damage.


    Pyrogram Level 10
    Range 28.5 meters
    Mana 141
    Channel 1.5 seconds
    Cast 0.8 seconds
    Cooldown 3.0 seconds
    Weapon Unarmed, Magic Instruments

    Requisite Cultivation Spiritual Initiate
    Channels the fury of the raging flame into a
    blazing pyrogram. Deals fire damage equal to 100% of
    weapon damage plus base magic damage plus 1379.6.


    I put these two together because they are purely damage.
    Adding casting and channel, it takes 2 seconds to use the psychics Spirit Blast, and 2.3 to use a wizards pyrogram. Spirit Blast also does more damage. Faster and more damage for the psychic.

    This is just an example and I'm not gonna keep doing this but long story short, psychic skills usually have less powerful damage but faster channel time. wizards have a slow channel but higher damage.

    Things to also keep in mind is that psychics have many skills such as Psychics will that make you immune to psychical damage for a short time, and Soulburn that means your target takes damage everytime they use a skill or attack. Its hilarious on dumb people.

    Wizards on the other hand have Distance Shrink which is pretty much a 25(maxed) meter jump foward to get away from people. They also have Stone Barrier which raises your physical defense.

    I could sit here and talk all day about how good each is but in my honest opinion, I'd pick a psychic. Plus from a barbs point of view, the psychic always takes aggro before the wiz.

    Too add something serious, I would rather play a lvl 105 Psychic than a 105 Wizard.

    From what I've heard Psy can be a monster in PvP with very High Refines(40k+ SoulForce),especially with full R9 set(If they ever put back the Medals for a reasonable price).

    Because you never wanna replace a barb with a herc, or have an extra 20%/30% amp, 40% less physical defense or no physical defense on the boss, or have a puller so we don't have to have an earthflame genie, someone else to mire/poison boss so the massive dps'ers can frenzy or cloud/siphon to hf/subsea boss, or even have the possibility of having 5.0 aps.

    I totally would rather have a Mystic or a Wizard in the squad eh.

    Well I just got my -6% chan wraithgate robe and still haven't decided. I really don't like veno personally, I prefer to nuke but just really can't decide on what to use >_>

    Wizard - have db, perfect for RB
    psychic - best "aps" dd (i would fit this class in a new type of class called "aggro stealer")
    venomancer - the girl with the pet that can give you the spark and solo a lot
    mystic - they can debuff pdef, mdef and aps with a plant, heal with two another plants and use a summon to attack while they dd a lot (if there is any mp remaining)
    cleric - the only one with physical and magic dd skills, and physical aoe and magic aoe.

    but it all resumes to what do you prefer most: be the best aoe dd in a squad, to kite at PvE and PvP, to tank TT, or to be able to dd or to keep the squad alive if needed.

    I have all three characters, and I will admit that out of all of my chars, I love FC on my psychic.

    I didn't have a continuous aoe, but I have so freaking many that it more than makes up for it. Then there's psy will (sage version is 10 seconds of phys immunity if I remember correctly--haven't gotten lucky enough to get the book yet), the soul skills (although, soul of silence can put ya in a bad spot if it procs), and soulburn, which, when used on the slash boss is pretty lulzworthy.

    On my mystic, I found out that storm mistress, despite her being a constant mana whoor, is pretty awesome on them pulls. Hush is an aoe metal attack. Salvation's good to throw on a tank, especially on the unusually squishy ones. Of course, the res skill--clerics lurve that thing to death. They are more of a support class than a true DD class, but they are very capable of killing **** if need be. Like veno pets, summons don't have that damage reduction. Which has been an issue with me at times and my Mistress, who hits like 5k with magic on ? bosses. Mistress is a squishy ****. See why it can be a small issue?

    It was easiest to get squads on my wizzie (before people got over their fish phobia, now I'd probably get passed up for my psychic), and DB is great in there. Wizzies still hit harder than a psy, but the psychic has speed on their side (admittedly though, my psy hits even harder than my wizzie even before my psy had rank 8, which makes no sense to me but I digress). Stone Barrier is fabulous (and if you go demon and get really lucky for the demon version, your pdef gets even sexier).

    It's all dependent on your playstyle really. And to the one who said that it's not easy getting into an FC squad as an arcane DD'er--I found it almost freaking impossible to get into one as my sin than I did on any of my AA girls. It's the endgame instances where they screwed over on. b:surrender

    Psychics are good enough in rank 9 gear (which you said you are getting eventually) that there is an entire thread made about how OP they are by a bunch of APS people started by an APS barb. Then again there is also a video of a wizard guy literally face rolling a person. Literally. He put his face on the keyboard and rolled around until the person was dead. XD That was a really long time ago.

    With same refinements of equipment and maximized skills Wizard's DPH less than Psychic's DPH.

    If you have a huge wallet--> Psychic
    If you have a huge wallet and BRAINCELLS to work a class-->Psychics

    There's a different between the two. You can be one of the two people: urDian, or JaFeKeys...two Psychics well known in Harshlands.

    urDian has a huge wallet, with +12 R9 and insane amounts of skill. He learned to play the class BEFORE he spent the money. Good job!

    JaFe on the other hand, spent a skillion dollars on R8 +12 and found out that he didn't know how to play his class at all like an idiot! :< Boooooo

    Roll a Wizard. Nobody plays them anymore, so the "New Generation" PWI doesn't know what to do when they get roflpwned by a Mage for 30k damage.
    They made fun of me because I wasn't a R8 Psychic...and then came third cast. It's not funny anymore.
