We are about combos and people seem to forget that. We don't have "trademark" skills like BIDS, BT, Tempest, Amp, Nix Bleed (not necessarily a skill but mass QQ about it) Purge, Soulburn etc. etc. ANY class when geared properly can be feared. Wizzy and Psy isnt the only thing out there and honestly I like it when people turn their noses down on the newer classes. If they get careless in TW's, get careless in PK then they freak too late that someone skilled is actually playing behind the screen and is suddenly a threat, all the better for those who worked up the skill level.

We can be support (Demon res w/ 100% Hp return, Demon/Sage Salvation with their aoe shields, Fallen petals which stacks with IH and ticks after a few, Healing herbs and plant debuffs) Or we can DD (Nature Vengance + Absorb Soul, Energy Leech Storm for a boost in mag attack, Demon Thicket when amp fires off,) and we can control (Devil Stun,Thicket, Gale, Listless Herb when Lys'd can sleep target for 13 sec-otherwise will constantly have the chance to interrupt, Bramble Tornado demon version will grant an extra knockback meter) We have the ONLY KNOCKBACK THAT WORKS IN PVP. How you dont see that as effective PvP/TW wise I don't even get...

As an Archer in TW, I use Alacrity, then hit a crab meat, then simply kill a Mystic while tanking their pet.

If they are smart/dumb enough to pull out a cragglord, they're dead before they finish summoning it, or I stun them before they can even finish stunning it.

I don't claim to be the best pvper at all. But I will say that Archers seem to be one of the easier classes for me to beat. It's probably just the light armor.

Not that Archers stink or anything, They can hit like trucks.

But I'd rather fight an Archer than a BM/Sin/Psy any day of the week.

What is the best arcane DD, I like arcane classes, I like damage and I have a range of good arcane gear for 90+ already. Psy, Wiz, Mystic? Which one will get me into an FF squad easier? I know for a fact my wizard doesn't get into squads easy and its 95, Haven't really been in FF as a squad where I do damage yet and I haven't got a psy yet...

I'm only asking because I don't want to spend a lot of money getting all 3 to rank 9 and having to refine the equipment all over again. I want one focus and I really cannot decide!!

for FF purposes psy, has 3 spamable AoE starting off, has an AoE stun for 1 spark, and can do all pulls in frost starting at 90 with decent gear due to psy will.

However overall, its between psy and wiz, if ur jsut gonna pve, psy will probably be higher dps end game, for pvp, psy and wiz play compltly differently you need to try out both classes and go with which ever one fits your play style more.

Point is Yui, don't bother bringing Mystics into the equation because it is clear and 90% of us who have been playing PWI a long time know Psychic is the fastest arcane DD, don't bring up BIDS or any other stupid skill because in the end psychic still wins for fastest arcane for damage output.

Right, I've taken in pretty much everything everyone has said, its been psy all the way for R9, I'm looking and 300k rep is going to cost me pretty much a whole months wage so its either pay rent and eat for a month or get R9. I think I'll eat. I will probably go to R8 over time, so I'm thinking wiz unless psy still wins at R8? My mystic is fun but I do want to just be pure damage rather than support.

I just need to find some people who wont turn their nose up at a level 95 wiz with sage mastery in everything, anyone would think I have every skill in level 1! So any offers on HT for a faction/FF squad? *Cough* Enrage *Cough* b:thanks

Its surprising how little most people know about psys and how they thing that wizzies always out DPH them...

They say it because they make the mistake of listening to the wizards, and possibly cata barbs in TW - not realizing that alot of psychics tw with white voodoo on.

Psychics are creepy looking, and their skills look kinda bland in my opinion, but they are better magic dds than wizards everywhere but TW. And even in TW, a well geared, well played psychic is every bit the threat a wizard is.

Wizard's, however, are more sexy and more fun to play. But in terms of the numbers, psychics aren't second class citizens by any stretch of the imagination.

AND, for 1 vs 1 pk, psychic is much more versatile than a wizard.

Psy still wins @ rank 8. Lots of rank 8 psychics with +12 weapons are floating around, and they are crazy op. As you move down from rank 9 to rank 8, and from +12 rank 8 to +10 rank 8 to +5 rank 8, they psychic and wizard get closer to being equal, but psychic still has the edge imho

They sir do not "suck at pvp." Its true that sins have the biggest advantage because you don't see them coming but thats where the line is drawn. I have rarely seen other classes beat down a cleric that spent the same amount of money on their gear as the opponent. (That be the important factor)

Tho it is sad the majority of clerics on my server just stand around while safe and sound cause they made friends with nearby pkers, when they do feel like getting involved the end results are mostly in their favor. (Those Rank 9 sins on my server with the +12 gear) are even afraid to get hit by one of the cash shopped clerics. (Again, important factor)

Note: I have been pking for 2 and a half of my 3.7 years on this game. When it came to other classes a good player could survive as a cleric. When it came to sins all and i repeat all arcane classes were made to look like fools.

Edit: Or should i say aps and Rank sins. Melee classes are still the easiest to beat when your capable of keeping them out of melee range...or stunning range for that matter.

This post is srsly becoming derailed by pointless drivel. They asked what is "better" as a endgame DD and it is the char behind it. Each class has its own abilities and weakness. If you play your class right you can do more then not. A mystic is not a -point and click- class.A veno is not a point and click. None of them are.
If you use common sense and play the class as it should be. You can out DD any char that is stupid and doesnt know wtf they are doing. Its that simple. My veno has out DD'ed a dam 5aps sin in CoA.

Granted I know what I am doing. I am not giving them the advantage either or any way to get one and using different tactics to beat them. That being said if you DO play your class right. You can do more dmg. A wizz endgame CAN hit harder and faster then a psy. You have to know how. Granted it isn't constant. Yet for FF/FC basis or pk or dungeons. you generally DO NOT HAVE TO. It goes back to how you play and doing what you have to when you have to.

Mystics are also great DD and support classes. They can be exceptionally powerful when played right. So can Archer's, BM's, Sin's, Psy's, and any class in general if you play them right. This is more a common sense based arguement.

So use your head and then reply. Each class is class specific and have their pro's and con's. Its more the player then the class that is so bad. Players in general make classes appear bad. Its why you pick a class you enjoy and learn to play it. People will GO TO YOU for squads if you are a GOOD PLAYER. If you are not it shows. If you can't get squads and you are a known player in general. It means something if you as a wizz cant get an FF/FC squad.

Simply put if you do not care to learn to play get a aps char rush your target an melee them to death. Die and try again. Then rage quit after you fail to do that. Then reroll as archer and try to range shoot your targets with point and click shooting till they die. Rage quit again when that fails rinse and repeat with each class and illogical stero-type till you get pissed an quit the game and uninstall.
