But meh, I look at it like this. If I CS, who cares? It's my damn cash, I worked for it, so if you're gonna ***** at me for using it go **** off.
30-50 a week.
That means 200 a month, in 5 months thousand bucks. In a year.. you coulda buy a 2k car with that money b:victory but you instead got some nice Pixels.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

That makes no sense.
Many power supplies are underrated and can supply more power than they are rated for. However, it may cause stress, overheating or severely limit the lifespan of your power supply.
I said, that PC can't consume more than can supply Power Supply unit.If you wrote: "Many power supplies are underrated and can supply more power than they are rated for" then I am right. I saw dozens burned PSU and I know, what is overheating, that some PSU have overcurrent, overvoltage, and short circuit protection.
In any case my laptop, for example, has Power supply unit for as max as 90 W, desktop computer consume more. And if I play at PWI, then I play myself, not using AFK Cat Shops.
I can't see anything interesting in Cat Shop game (for me).0 -

The labelled wattage of a power supply is a description of that powersuppys capabilities under maximum load, ie the very maximum of what that power supply could possibly pump out.
Its not using 700watts al the time dude.
In fact virtually every computer built comes no where near reaching the maximum load of its PSU and considering yours is 700w it would be much more like leaving 3-4 light bulbs on.

I charged $10 today for the first time since October.
Nothing against game, I've just been busy and didn't have any extra money to throw around.
Anyways, I don't get why people say that someone who spends $1k on this game has no life. Fact of the matter is, that person probably only logs on for 2-4hours a day to pk or TW, while the rest of us have to farm for 8 hours a day to get gear half as good as theirs.0 -

My main computer is an AMD Phenom x4 2.2Ghz with 2 Gigs of RAM and a Radeon 4670. After putting everything into the estimator it recommended a 250 Watt PSU, which seems to be an entirely reasonable recommendation for such a low-end system.
However, I hooked up an ammeter to my system, and these are the actual measurements:
System Idle: 1.23 Amps @ 111 Volts = 137 Watts
PWI minimized: 1.28 Amps @ 111 Volts = 142 Watts
PWI Full-screen 1900x1200 Max-Settings in West Archo: 1.49 Amps @ 111 Volts = 165 Watts
At 10 cents per KWH, that means I'd pay an extra $9.86 per month to leave my computer idle, plus an additional 36 cents per month for each cat-shop I leave running.
However, in reality I'm actually paying nothing, because it's still cold outside and my house is heated by a gas furnace, and the cost of gas is currently higher than the cost of electric heat. So if I turned off my computer my electric bill would go down by about $10, but my gas bill would go up by about $12.
In a month or so I can turn off the gas and that's when I could start saving money by turning off my cat-shop, but instead I'll just let my laptop be my 24/7 cat-shop, since according to my ammeter measurements it only uses 30 Watts, which would be $2.16 per month to generate about $500 in merchanting income.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I agree with you here, its your money, you got the right to spend them wherever you want. The problem is,PWI made the CS in such way that it has a HUGE impact on Non-Csers.Aka the sucky economy.
There is 1 word that describes the CS and the company at the moment.GREED.
Remember what Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) says in Wall Street from 1987...
GREED IS GOOD b:victory

I didnt invest any money in this game since more than a year, i m not doing any bhs, only once in a while nirvana farming on my alt but that goes to my friend to help with his gear.
I m still able to survive, tho i have only one fashion style on each of my char and dont buy every pixel outfits for 10+ bucks or more. not worth it.
Its just in any other game you get better and prettier "stuff" for less than 5 bucks. So the prices here are insane. i rather go for b2p games than this.
Go do once a day TT1-x, set it in AH and you earn one million per day, no need for catshop. If i m trolling and spamming on forum...then i cant sleep and need a good laugh0 -
I think the idea that the player's money buys "pixels" is wrong. What the money actually buys is entertainment value. If you got a job and some money to spend for your entertainment, why not do it?
There are people who get themselves a car like a Porsche, for example. A car like this is considerably more expensive than a simple Honda or whatever. The extra money buys extra entertainment value (and a bit more punch with the girls possibly), nothing else. Other people spend lots of money on food and drinks in restaurants. What is the entertainment value of a 5 or 10$ drink? Is it worth more than a riding mount in PWI?
If someone spends a bit of money on an online game, there is nothing wrong with it in my opinion. I am doing it myself, in a rather humble way. I've got a job and only little time to play, I can't be arsed to spend my playing time working. For example, if I need a certain herb, before I go farming for hours I will try to buy it. Running around wielding a pickaxe gets old quickly.0 -

Its only thing to compare porshe, a car without any bugs and it has its value cause it is unique...and on other hand we have pwi...
never fixed bugs
not unique, nothing special
pve wise a catastrophe
outdated graphics
overpriced shop
So again it is pixels. if you buy a car, then its forever (unless you break it). if you buy 30 fashion styles in game and the server shuts down..well then your loss.
Its fine if you invest money in entertainment, but compare the entertainment to fair value. if people spend 200 bucks in game per month well...buy for same money a console, way better investement in long term.
PWI is not a "porshe" among the mmo games. its probably more like a DVD rental, where people spend mass of money for few hours survivability in game.If i m trolling and spamming on forum...then i cant sleep and need a good laugh0 -
SinfuINature - Harshlands wrote: »well i dont CS much... i try to drop $10 every 1 -2 months or so
Compared to the 'casual cash shopper' class, you've never actually used the cash shop. I would probably classify the 'casual cash shopper' as someone who spends $50-$200 a month, regularly. Cash shop hoars generally spend as much in a month as a casual cash shopper would in a year.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -
Put in 10$ to help me get a herc after farming mats for a few months. Now, 45min HH = 1mil+ so i don't worry about funds no moreb:cute[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I didn't compare PWI to a Porsche, I compared a Porsche to a "normal" car. Both cars take you from point A to point B, with a Porsche it is just a bit more fun. Some people are prepared to pay thousands for a bit more fun getting from A to B, others are prepared to pay hundreds or thousands to pwn in an online game. It's the same, basically.0 -
Yeah. I spend randomly, but i've spent 100 bucks on the game so far. I've been playing for 2 years now (on and off though) and i stayed CS free for about 1 year and 8 months. Honestly i don't get people who do TT. I don't consider TT fun at all. Why not just work another hour at ur job. Lets say u work minimum wage around 10 bucks an hour. Thats 10mil per hour. Fat chance you'd ever make 10mil per hour in PWI. Drop the coffee habit u get 1.5mil per day. Drop Cigarettes or Alcohol whatever its easily 7-8mil per day without even doing anything. PWI is cheap lol. Personally, I'm still a high school student so i don't have a job yet, i just use my allowangeb:pleased but when i do get a job i'll spend the money i make on pwi instead of suffering through endless bouts of TT just to make a 20 cents an hour.0
