with all the ppl QQing about CS players just stop and think...
well i dont CS much... i try to drop $10 every 1 -2 months or so (my wife plays so if i get a GTC then she gets a GTC also) just to keep my buying option open till i hit lvl 100 and can farm niv... i hate TT and i dont like merchanting b/c i dont wanan spend all day looking for deals/having my pc on running 700Watts/hr on (yes thats like you leaving 7 100 watt lights on all day in your house) but if i see a good deal ill buy it and resell it... so...
if you think about it... most ppl get paid $10-20 an hr at their job... take 1 hr of your normal jobs pay and spend it on zen to keep up with prices/getting coin... or dont buy a 12 pack of bud light or dont smoke 2 packs a day... thats what 2 packs = $8 a day? (i dont smoke )...
another way of looking at it that an average person (at least i did when i played FPS games) will spend $50-65 on a ps3 or xbox or pc game... pay it for 3-4 months and buy the newest game coming out and almost never play the 1st game again... thats = to about $15-20 a month on a new game...
so i would like to know if you CS and how much you spend a month or why you dont CS/QQ about ppl who do... and if they every changed it to P2P then you would drop $15 a month anyways for nothing but the game...

And I'm impressed that your computer requires 700 Watts. It must truly be a monster. My cat-shop laptop only uses 30 Watts when PWI is running, but I've never hooked up my main computer to a power meter when it's switched on, so maybe I should do that and find out how much an average PC actually uses when PWI is running in the background...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

700 watts sounds crazy high, especially with the monitor off. Double check that for sure!
My spending is similar to the OP's - when something is on sale that I want I will charge $10, I have charged $30 in the past six months I think.
I still do merchanting but just for my own drops and if I see something I can double my price on I buy and resell it.
I guess I would pay $10 a month for this game if the drops/items were better and more easily attainable.0 -
I don't CS. I just rely on bh100 and filling out surveys for free zhen. A lot of them don't work lately though. b:angry
Computers only eat up that much if you're overclocking it. It's usually just 100-200 most of the time. Probably not even that much. Just because your power supply says it's 700, doesn't mean it's always at that./quit.

Here is Power Supply Calculator.
PC can't consume more than can supply Power supply unit.0 -
I don't CS because they don't deserve my money, it's simple as that. I'm not going to list everything that's broken in this game, most of you already know about it, plus you just have to read this forum. Also why would I spend real money when it's so easy to make coins ingame?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
-
I don't CS because they don't deserve my money, it's simple as that.
That is a silly reason...I mean if the game is so bad why do you play? Obviously you get some enjoyment from the game even with all the broken things? And let me tell you, every MMORG has broken things it is just the nature of not being able to anticipate a zillion possibilities.
I think most of the anger towards cash shoppers are from kids that can't afford what they want and it frustrates them that other people can. But truthfully the game can be really fun without spend anything (or much) and when it isn't for me then I will just move on to something else.0 -
I buy the cards like once every 2-3 months. I've already looked at the Cash Shop like a thousand times, and there's not really anything I want. Plus all the stuff I wanted, I already bought. :b. I don't sell any of the gold, or items, just because to me, it feels like it's cheating. Idk why, just feels like it.
If PWI started charging 15 per month, I don't think I would pay that much. Just because I play with my brother, and since neither one of us has jobs right now, we would have to relay on our parents...and I don't think they would want to pay that much0 -
PC power supplies are rated for the most they can supply, but PCs rarely draw their PSU's full output. you'd have to be grinding the harddisks, maxing out the graphics card, crunching numbers to peak the CPU, and shifting enough data in and out of memory to top out the northbridge/memory controller. more often a PC (with enough RAM, so it's not swapping) will only draw a fraction of the PSU's rated power; a desktop PC sitting mostly idle might draw a hundred watts or two.
monitors, back in the CRT era, used to draw quite a lot --- sometimes as much as the actual computer, in those days. modern flatscreens, not nearly as much.
as for cashshopping, i usually get a $20 prepaid card every other month, trying to budget myself to no more than $10/month on average. that's not a hard budget to keep; after kitting my most-used alts out with flyers, maxed inventory and bank on my main, and an account stash stone, i don't really see anything else in the boutique i particularly want.
if they started selling account stash extension stones, mind you, i might buy two. or if they offered speed upgrades for tideborn and earthguard flyers. but they don't have that much common sense, now do they?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Heaven's Tear alts: KenLubin, Sou_Hon, JudyCaraco --- level 5x chars.0 -
I didnt know that the pc will draw only X amount even though the PSU puts out Y... just always though that if the PSU was puting out 700watts then thats what you were getting billed for... my pc still requires 360 watts (with that cal thing)... im sure it is a rough est b/c i didnt get to put in the video card type and stuff... but now that we can run a dual client i guess i can open a shop with my 2nd account while i play and see how that works...0

Fun fact: I used to be a barb on Heaven's Tear before I rolled my Harshland Psychic.
And that barb had over 2k in cash in gear alone. I won't count charms, gems, ect.
Then they released Forsaken World. It was then that I realized that the money I had been spending hadn't gone to a single OUNCE of repairing or improving the game I'd been paying for. INSTEAD, the company made a whole new game....instead of taking the time to fix a perfectly good one that they already had.
And I sold all of my things, and went serious on Harshlands. I vowed to never allow PWI to have my money again.
So, until PWI gets the proverbial head out of their behind, I refuse to spend money on my Psychic. And I will not spend money on my Seeker. They have proven themselves unworthy of my hard earned cash, not because they have a bad game, but because of their **** poor management. They made fun of me because I wasn't a R8 Psychic...and then came third cast. It's not funny anymore.

I think the biggest QQ about CSers is unskilled CSers who can't play for ****.
Or 14 year olds using mom and dad's magic card.
But tbh it's not a huge deal, if you don't have time to play because you have work and you use some money in game, either way you are working for it.
So if you know how to play and have a job, drop in your money into this game(as is done regularly for every p2p or console game), I don't see what the major QQ about this is.
Just, some people do make themselves go broke over this lol.
And if they changed this to p2p, I'd leave and go to world2.
Personally I don't have the resources to be spending my cash here. But I do have time.0 -
i merch for most of my money, but to be honest, if i had everything i wanted, the game would probably be boring
having goals is what drives me most of the time
i have cash shopped early on, just to get some essentials, but playing on a pve server, i dont feel the need to really do it0 -
lol... You really think that 8 dollars gonna compare to the real cashshopers..
While you put 10 dollars .. they buy 200.
I just think its silly investing constant money in a "Free to play game". I think theres better options that cost 15 dollars a month ?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

The only time an overclocked computer will use more energy than a non-overclocked computer is when either the cpu or gpu are working at full load. The difference in idle draw is negligible.Toliman - Raging Tide wrote: »
That makes no sense.
Many power supplies are underrated and can supply more power than they are rated for. However, it may cause stress, overheating or severely limit the lifespan of your power supply.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -
My situation with CS is different.. I cant CS because my country doesent support zen buying <.< But if i could then i wouldn't spend all my money to this game because its not worth it.0
-
I buy zen every now and then, and bought my real life wife a herc for her birthday. Every now and then I might buy a little more, but for the most part I like to earn my coin. It sounds cliche, but most of the fun in games like this is the journey to end-game. If you buy it with cash shopping, then what is the point?0
-
I've bough only 3 gold from PWI and i don't need to CS atm
When there are pack's sales i buy some with ingame coins or buy gold through AH. b:victory[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=15081871001&dateline=1339865979[/SIGPIC]

10 dollars? Lol
There are people that have spent thousands. I know people who have spent 4 thousand on the game BEFORE the rep sale, and then all the gear they got with all that cash, got completely replaced and they spent even more buying full +10 R9[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

if your someone who is rich, and enjoy this game enough to spend a lot of money on it, then why not
its more harmless a hobby then skydiving 0.o
if you cant afford and and you spend it... well then you have issues0 -
One more reason why alot of people preffer P2P games. No more CS OPness, and the money goes on fixing the bugs, not on creating another P2W game.0

The question is,did they even got out of their parent's basement after they got their gear?
Seriously,these kind of people got no life.No hatin'.0 -
Ehh considering I work and don't really got much else to do lately....I spend maybe 30-50 a week. Since I get paid between 90-200 a week depending on work schedule.
But meh, I look at it like this. If I CS, who cares? It's my damn cash, I worked for it, so if you're gonna ***** at me for using it go **** off.Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

I agree with you here, its your money, you got the right to spend them wherever you want. The problem is,PWI made the CS in such way that it has a HUGE impact on Non-Csers.Aka the sucky economy.
There is 1 word that describes the CS and the company at the moment.GREED.0 -

though i would rather this then they charge me a monthly fee to play0 -
There's alot of F2P games that charge WAY less than PWI on their CS.
However, the gameplay is not that appealing.
I can guarantee that when a better F2P game is out, half of the players are gonna leave for that game.We just dont have anything better to play yet.
If they want to keep their players, they should think of all the player category, and not focus on CSers mostly.0 -
Related to a previous comment, alot of people who complain about this game should try some of the free to play ones that I have. This really is one of the best out there. Yes there are things that could improve and need fixed but I'm not a programmer or in their shoes. But compared to my last game which I'm not sure if I'm allowed to mention, at least PWI LET'S us make money somehow. I did CS on my last one and it still didn't matter, I couldn't get ahead. Plus I think it's awesome that they have the feature here to let you take the gold you earned and flip it for boutique stuff. For those that have money they can spend it and be happy. For those of us that have time and no money we still get to benefit. I think this game is very balanced. On top of that I've played since October and whenever I've had an issue the GM's have responded and been great. I'm pretty sure I'll be playing PWI for a few more years and doing CS here and there. Love this game b:pleased0
