just a few questions

at what level does the wizard really come into his/her own?
for example, clerics start being really good at around lv20, archers become untouchable at around lv70

would anyone like to share a good non pvp wizard moment?

is there even a wizard gm/mod?

    I'm being dead serious..

Wizards are useless in instances besides gv.
Wizards' main strength lies in mass pvp & TW, everywhere else they are not wanted.
and i say 99+ for sage/demon ulti spells.

I didn't have fun on my wizzy until around 9x.

not sure why you think im trolling, maybe you are for thinking I am.

99+ 10chars a condescending answer implying that its impossible to play and enjoy a wizard untill you have already reached the last few levels of the game

oh non-pvp? who the hell would roll a mage strictly for pve... re-roll.
    a condescending and inflammatory statement

as for your dismissal of the wizard as a useful class in pve need i to remind you that the wizard has many area of effect damaging spells and that there are plenty of instances where such skills are useful if not vital in pve.

you asked when wizzies 'came into their own' and that is when (most) people start to enjoy playing their wizzies. No it's not impossible before then, just extremely boring because your damage is sub-par compared to other dd classes until end game

it doesnt matter how many aoes we have, other classes do a better job at aoeing instances compared to wizzies. in pve APS (attacks per second) FAR outdeals damage a wizzy can produce over time.

you can wait for other wizards to reply, i'm pretty sure they will say roughly the same thing.

since a third party has stepped forward to back you in your statement i will have to accept it as the truth.

therefore as an honorable man i offer you an apology for anything i said that you took offence to and for disbelieving you in your claim as it seemed extravagant to me at the time.b:thanks

I know that Wizard become very good at 60 - 70 levels for pve environment.

Wizards are good against magic mobs and bosses

BH59 can be done even solo by Wizard in proper levels.

BH69 is more difficult for Wizard.

    Good moments ?

    1. AOE kill few mobs at BH59, BH51 using DB, Blade Tempest, Black Ice Dragon Strike, Hail Storm, Will of the Phoenix.

    2. Holding agro as tank aganst bosses.

    3. Solo tanking of culti and quest bosses for most levels.

20 and below sucks, 30 x is annoying, 40-60 is improving and 60-78 is reasonable. 79 out with undine and sopo is a breath of fresh air. I'm not 9x yet so I can only vicariously say that it's even better from there

As far as PvE goes, leveling can be a pain at times. I'm tanking and killing bosses with my seeker that killed the **** out of me with my wiz at the same level. at 87 though I don't fear much of anything as long as I'm charmed and on top of my game I can take it. One good thing about being a wizard is knowing that a huge number of people bow out at low levels and you kept at it and made it through. So it's a good feeling of accomplishment when you start hitting 8x 9x 100+ levels.

As far as not getting pve runs there is some truth to that. I burn through countless tele's looking for ff's. People only want high aps's for nirvana unless you got friends who will take ya. Truth is, if you play balls out then there isn't an excuse for not enoying a wizard. I've gained a lotta respect from other classes when I play with em cuz I'm versatile and dd/heal/aoe and that (if done correctly) keeps other squadders alive and happy. So to me the biggest perk to playing a wiz is proving other people wrong. Nuff said.

Unfortunately everyone is almost right about wizard.

However i do enjoy playing wizard a lot even with my alternate build

Its get better for me after lvl 40+ after i got my level 7 or so stone barrier.
and i have taken down lvl 48 mobs @ around lvl 42 doing my own divine quest =x

and as i heard and seen for myself, wizard gets a lot better when bids start to enter the picture and more sparks are available.

1-38 wizards suck. Our survivability is laughable and our damage is worse than just about every other class.

39-49 is where things start to pick up. At 39 we get Will of the Phoenix, which makes grinding waaaay easier, and at 49 we Force of Will, which makes things even better.

50-58 is boring as hell. Nothing to do but bhs and quest in anticipation for...

59-65, which is when we get out ultis. You'll have fun hitting unsuspecting crowds of horses/chickens/goats with BIDS until about level...

66-78, at which point life as a wizard becomes boring again. I recommend you zhen to get out of the hell hole that is pre-79.

79-89 you get some cool new skills. Oh and I was lying when I said that 79 was when you get out of the hell hole, that's actually not until...

90-99 is when your wizard finally starts to shine. By now most of your favorite spells are level 10+, and with your tt90 wep and a jones blessing you can hit fairly hard.

100+ is when wizards are at our best. We shine now more than ever. You are now a dangerous 1v1 pvp class, and an absolute force in TW.

PvE wise we're not that great. We're good for things like zhenning and FC where large groups of mobs need to be killed, which makes us pretty good at leveling (which is the only thing you should be thinking about until 100+). In terms of money making/gearing instances like tt and nirvana, we're a joke.

I found levels 79-100+ boring for myself (if not even impossible to play). Main question was not how to find fun, but how to find coins for new equipment and new levels of old and already boring skills (see table 1).

    Table 1
Skill | Level Required for 10th level of skill
    Pyrogram 45
    Gush 48
    Stone Rain 51
    Pyroshell 54
    Glacial Embrace 54
    Stone Barrier 54
    Crown Of Flame 58
    Hailstorm 61
    Divine Pyrogram 64
    Pitfall 64
    Morning Dew 69
    The Dragons Breath 74
    Wellspring Quaff 74
    Distant Shrink 74
    Fire Mastery 74
    Water Mastery 74
    Earth Mastery 74
    Will Of The Pheonix 75
    Frostblade 75
    Sandstorm 75
    Emberstorm 85
    Glacial Snare 85
    Force Of Will 85
    Blade Tempest 86
    Black Ice Dragon Strike 86
    Mountain's Seize 86
    Essential Sutra 86
    Elemental Shell 79
    Soporific Whisper 79
    Undine Strike 79
    Elemental Invocation 100
    Manifest Virtue 100

23 of 32 skills maxed at level less than 80.

    Edited:
Since 60th level you can get 5 new skills only from 32 existing (see table 2).
    Table 2
    Skill | Level Required
    Pyrogram 1
    Gush 3
    Stone Rain 6
    Pyroshell 9
    Glacial Embrace 9
    Stone Barrier 9
    Crown Of Flame 13

    Elemental Shell 79
    Soporific Whisper 79
    Undine Strike 79

my opinion from the PVE side:

The first noticeable improvement is when you learn your knockback will of the phoenix and distance shrink because from that moment on you can start to kite in case of a mob causing you troubles to kill. Like mentioned before Force of Will will also improve the kiting since from the moment you have learned it you are able to creat distance between you and the mob 2 times before it will be able to get a direct hit on you.

The next twist in favour of the wiz is around lvl 60 when the mobs which elemental attacks come into play.

The ultis at lvl 59 mentioned by most of the people in here were not the big deal for me since their dmg on lvl 1 sucked and you are not able to aoe kill mobs at that lvl by using them

From then on every lvl comes with new skills to max until lvl 86 where the normal wiz skills should be maxed out. Also 79 is nice when you get undine to finally be able to kill mag res mobs in a reasonable amount of time.

89 is special because of your new culti
90 comes with a new weapon and maybe the first sage / demon skills
92 opens up the next tier of sage/demon skills
From then on there is nothing new till 99 if y ou dont get lunar stuff at 95
99 sage/demon ultis + new weapon -->new you finally can use your ultis to kill mobs
    100 lvl 100 skills +rank 8
    101 r9 + other lvl 101 items
from 102 on there is nothing new for the wiz

No matter what and how prepared you are, a fish will roll you over unless his IQ is below 50 or he's less then 8yr old and can't reach all the keys on keyboard.

Go try out other games out there, mages/wizards are actually nice/fun classes to play without being the black sheep in everything except 1 instance of the game.

because you could kill them as easy or even easier in 1v1 + you would have the advantage in PvE that your DMG and solo abilities would be higher. The only thing you would have to trade in for that is the aoe spaming for multiple targets

Also FOW is epic in pve and pvp. Don't neglect it. Learning to play a wiz is all about learning how to play it with versatility. I can't tell you how many times my heal has saved a squads ***. yes 70s Bhs wiz shines, 90ish you can solo fb59 to farm rep ( if you're old school), 80s watch your *** cause pole/ nob will flook you up but damn you can pack a punch here , 90s you CAN tank all but sty in 79 ( poor butthurt fleshream spamming barbs) as well as a phys class if not better and at 100+ you can tank Warsong Boss, epic in RB, great sacrificial lamb in TT (lol), and so much more. So, for those that bash a wiz in pve, perhaps you've never rolled witha decent one ( I won't say great cause I know there is always room to learn) or you might be a wiz that never learned how to fully embrace your class, and just has OP gears. Stop trying to [revent people from leveling their wizzy because you are afraid they might actually turn out to be better than you and make you look bad because you rely on gear alone. ( oh btw be careful with force of will or you will run sealed mob right into others and cause a mass agro issue, and combine Will of Phoenix with gush to slow mobs down long enough for your other kite skills to cool down)

Most epic pve moment was this past week in Nirvana. (OMG A WIZ IN NIRVANA) I learned that with my uber holy path genie I too can run chests, and think God I can cause no one else knew them. Twice the peeps got the seals and didn't click (fml) BUT, twice my 3 spark was epically timed and left me the only one alive. I was able to take boss hp down, run chests, save from a reset ( I'm sure lag would have prevented the peeps from sealing add again) and live long enough to get all rezzed by our trainee cleric. Once the aps person had agro I was able to heal them while everyone got it back together. I have never been so proud of my squishy Chan/crit phys def build ****. xD

I will point them at your post and your Overall Recent Achievements, so they will restart this game from assassins to Wizards (why you yourself need level 70 assassin, having high level Wizard ?).

<-- 73 wiz only, not as high as the others who have posted. Just have to say the last few convos I have had about wizzys have ended in people wanting to bash on them and saying they suck...maybe they do for some. You'll know if you like them by lvl...30-40 say as that's when it can get tough. After that it's all about know how, skill, and persistence. I love my wiz and though others may not agree with me I think at 59 is when they start becoming "fun" and from there on you get stronger and get better skills. We are certainly not the most wanted in instances, but I play for fun and if I need an instance I can ask some friends or faction to help and I ts never a problem. It all depends on you really, so try one out if you like it good...if not, roll a psy or cleric for a mag class. I hope this helped and as I said before I'm not as experienced as these other folks, just my own opinion.

    blah blah blah

Just wanted to say your post was the most annoying I've seen in a long time.

And I don't even mean the comments, just the way it was written. Actually, I don't know what the contents are because of the way it was written, my eyes couldn't handle it.

    Thought you should know b:bye
