I can't explain how people like it, but they do. Some of the examples I like and some I do not. Everyone's entitled to their opinions but being downright rude is... well rude. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. People's opinions vary, that's what I meant by the "open minded" comment. I agree some look ridiculous but that's how some people choose to make their characters. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course. It's just more easy to listen to one if it's worded less harsh.

people say that they are coppied because of this doll obsession over in china or w/e; funny thing is these chars dont even look anything like those dolls, atleast the dolls have propper facial proportions and body fat

I think what we have here is an uncomfortable meeting between kawaii culture and the uncanny valley. b:shocked

I'm a fan of cute characters, but in the "I could see this girl walking down the street" sort of cute... it's the realistic appearance with fantasy signifiers like fox ears or the EG 3rd eye that makes a character's appearance come alive for me.

That's why I've never really liked the 'doll' look in PW. Same goes for "max torso, min waist" builds, male or female, and anything that deforms the shape of the head to something other than what a skull is supposed to look like.

Here's my main, who is supposed to be 'cute' in a conventional way.

But here's the thing... my Seeker is named SwordChild. As in, she's supposed to be a child. A ****, at the most.... waaaaay below the age of consent. I could not possibly go any more dollish than her, because that enters the creepy zone.
