To be fair, there could be a few reasons why you only got a "thanks" (at least you did get a thank you--I would help someone out and not even get that much). Maybe English isn't his first language, or maybe he's just a bit shy.
The dialogue thereafter shouldn't have happened. The archer fueled the fire by insulting, but that's where you should have just left it alone and spoke to an officer there. So both of yall are in the wrong.

Wow, I thought this was gonna be a thread about how some noobs never say thanks. Instead it's a thread about how some people say thanks but don't say it well enough, or up to the standards of the OP.
If someone says thanks, or acknowledges their appreciation in some way, I'm happy.
Myself and 2 other higher levels did a boss run once for a faction mate. He didn't say thanks. He then had the gall to ask us to kill regular mobs for him as well. We weren't rude to him. We didn't make asinine comments. We just never squaded with him again.

And the point is the whole post is filled with contradictions. From the person saying thanks to thanking the person that dropped the mats and not him. To the comment of mats are split when it seemed apparent that either the rest of the people were helping a friend or from that same faction.

I think it's pretty arrogant of the archer to assume that OP didn't need anything, was just there to help him, didn't offer any mats or mirages, or even payment for the subs, and then proceeds to ram it down the squad's throat that he wants HIS mats that he "worked so uber hard for" and on top of that only says "Thanks"[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I dunno. I see both sides to this one. just today we let someone tag along on my FB for his BH he needed a hand with. I also learned why people say Seekers are underpowered fails but that aside. My seeker was 36 with under lvled skill at the time cause I hadnt made a stop off in town for ages. This guy was 46 and usuing all the spiffy moves avalible for his level.
So since we had my friends lvl 80 Cleric coming along we were just kinda doing it as a favor cause no one else would help him. Didnt really need the DD and I was doing Tank. I know english was Not this guys primary language and all so I gave it lot of slack and we just ran everything like always and let him do whatever. He kept demanding I change the drops to Free. which is funny cause he would have gotten nothing if I had. I dunno what build he used but due to the fact he took such heavy damage we assumed DD. He kept using moves with the highest Aggro potential when he could have used others knowing he couldnt handle the damage. We had a damn good cleric who Still couldnt keep his **** alive. and on top of that I was inflicting More Damage over all but didnt have all the heavy aggro pulling moves like he did just yet. So I dunno what the heck his build/stats/equip look like. Then tried to Duel me several times when we took 5 for the cleric to charge his MP before the last leg of the run and me to grab a soda.
and at the end he Desquads the moment the boss is down after seeing no good loot. Says "Ty" and runs off While yelling for Rebuffs from our Cleric! Not "rebuff?" and waiting But bolting off with a speed boost and yelling "BUFF BUFF BUFF" as he speeds past. I still says that that was a B.S. Thanks for helping such a Idiot. English or not "Thanks =D Done? " would have at least made me content. Showing he was happy for the hand and that he gave maybe a moment of consideration to returning the helping hand he was given even a smidge. Or at least faked for a moment he cared enough to return it.0 -

I hardly ever lie, I don't see the point in it because the truth is coming out anyway sometime. That being said, when I do tell the truth, it's not like I say the same thing over and over again, word for word. Things get remembered with time so you change the story accordingly. A big jump in the story is what is the difference between a lie and the truth.
But if you really want me to debate it, I'll say it this way.
The first post I quoted was telling us about how the Archer said thanks for the mat.
The second post I quoted was telling us he said thanks in squad chat.
The post you quoted tells us that the OP took it as thanks to the guy that gave him the mat.
I would take it as that, too, since he wouldn't say thanks until after the mat was dropped and the thanks could be linked to dropping the mat and not actually thanks for the run.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
