Cant multi-client so what can we do..... ?

So I've just read about multi-client (boxing) being agaisnt the terms so what else is there we can do ?

What I mean is, is there a stall we can buy for gold to sell/buy stuff in town while we level ? or am I stuck with either the AH or AFK stall ?

Since when is "manually" boxing 2 chars not legit ? its only non legit if you are a scumbag hacker imo.

    Set up a catshop when AFK or use another computer if possible. You can sell things to a merchant (or any npc that sells things) but you can't set the price.

    Actually, multi-client (more than one client on computer) isn't allowed, but you can multi-box. You just need to make a separate account to be your catshop on one computer while you play on your main account on another computer.

    If you only want to keep a cat shop up.


    Go and get a used laptop for like $100, it wont be able to do much but it should be able to AFK with a cat shop up.

    Just find an old junker. I got an old box from a friend who was gonna throw it out. Game is not playable, but good enough to AFK a shop on bare min settings.

    1) technically disallowed sure, on the other hand the guy I know that has his 4 alts flyign overhead while he semi-attentively archers mobs down would disagree a bit with it ever getting you into trouble.
    2) why in the world would multi-client be worse than multi-box with different computers. I really don't see how, except they can't stop multi-box because of family members.
    3) over half the cat shops in arch are lvl1 archers/clerics, I'm sure their mains aren't playing at the same time tho *wink wink*

    To # 2... there's another reason behind it but i completely forget...... yes there's no difference betweeen playing two toons on one PC or two PCs... but still that's not the reason.

    to put it simple... playing more then one client/toon on the same pc is against the rules.

    the reason u cant multi client is because u have to edit the log in file or something like that so that a second client will run. i personaly dont see a prob in it but it is against the ToS to do so :l

    Last I heard, the client will multiclient without any modification these days.

    So it's now purely a policy issue.

    yeah all you have to do is use the launcher in the program file.

    ...which I mean if they made it so you can do that, how are they saying it isnt allowed when they allowed it -.-

    Well if they didnt' alow it cause u had to edit files and now you don't... you can just launch the game again and a second will pop up (if your pc can even handle two runnign at once)......... I dont' see the problem either lmao

    I mean there have been a FEW times i would've liked to have a cat shop runnign while i was playing (before i actually bothered making a alt accoutn and installign this on my other pc in the living room lol)

    FRANKIE !!!!!!!! lol mind commenting on this? Since we dont' have to modify a damn thing anymore apparently...... is it really a problem now?

    You know what's weird is in all the other PWE games, you're allowed up to 2-3 clients open on the same computer simultaneously. What makes this game so different?

    lol nothing makes this game different anymore..... since you CAN load it again w/o either "instance" of the game crashing. I just pm'ed frankie, I'd like to see a real reason it still isnt' allowed.

    frankie never gives a straightforward answer. all the gms give the same answer, its against the ToS blahblahblah. i dont think we will ever get the real reason out of them.

    My biggest concern is that the ToS doesn't explicitly cover the topic of multiclienting, so unless players read the forum and see posts about it, they wouldn't know it was against the rules.

    Many games (including other games from PWE) do allow multiclienting, so it would be reasonable to assume that it would be allowed in this game as well.

    I understand and accept that it is against the rules, but at the same time, I do think they should edit the ToS to cover the topic specifically. As it stands now, a new player could sign up, read the ToS, and go about multiclienting feeling confident that they were acting within the rules, only to end up banned for it.

    yep..... truth right there. There's no reason for it to be against the rules anymore as far as I can see since the game itself LETS you do it now w/o any modding..... but like u said unless you're a vet like us that actually know the GM's have made it against the rules.... you're not going to know and prolly get banned when you do it like you said.

    yea i agrre fully. no one reads the ToS anymore...i remmeber one of the gms saying that yes other PWE games u can multi in but that doesnt mean u can in PWI. i personaly think if PWE is going to allow multi for one of their games, that they should let it for all their games. and honestly it doesnt hurt anything. i mean id use multi to trade stuff from accoutn to account instead of bugging ppl to have them do it. but lets wait and see if frankie responds to ur pm...i dont want to feel like a debbie downer or a killjoy, but if he does respond it wont be the truth, it will just be "its againt the ToS so deal with it" type of responce

    After leaving the game for awhile and recently returning, I had kinda wondered if they had changed their policy on multi-boxing. I hadn't looked into it as it won't really change my playstyle atm, but I have noticed a huge increase in people "boxing" chars from when I had last played. Obviously many people run shops with a second account, but I've actually seen quite a few people actively playing more than one toon at a time.

    Doesn't much bother me either way, but personally I would just assume they allow people to "box" if they can/want b:victory

    they do allow multis on boi but with rules. now i dont see the prob here haveing multis BUT if every player has 2 toons running at the same time. WOW that could blow up the game!b:chuckle

    they allow people to multi client here lets not speak about technicalities lets go by what they actually do... which is almost never ban those who multi client unless it involved multiple countries and sharing accounts

    if ppl were banned for multiclienting at least half the population esp way more than half of high end cash shoppers would all be banned... u think they r gonna ban ppl who keep a roof over most of theeir employees heads?

    im pretty sure if u cash shop u are allowed to multi client as long as u dont wave it in front of everybodys face or admit to other things like account sharing or sit there with a bunch of ur alts standing where everyone would notice an army of ur toons

    i donno why pwi would act on the forum like they prohibit something they blatantly allow in game

    the defensive nature of some of the ppl acting toward criticism levied on the game is actually more oriented toward addiction not the spending money part... reinforcing an addiction is something addicts do... something to consider

    ^weirdest game bashing arguement I ever heard. If I wanna interfere with your farming time even, I can constantly whisper you. You can't stop whispers without blacklisting. Hell, people still promote the hate and blacklist people that use horns, they're just using their stashes. Most of those people never use a horn again, cause they arent buying another stash and a hammer to get more.
    General reply is always "You don't know what it was like back when they went on sale"...well that hasnt happened now has it...i mean jesus the arguements people make, make me cry.

    Why the red spam? red spam works. see someone on a roll, you buy packs hoping to catch a wave. You see results really do come from them. Of course it's marketing. If the game didnt make money it wouldnt be playable -.-

    The reason we are not allowed to multiclient is simple. Too many instances of the same client on one PC will cause the servers to become self aware and they will in turn build Terminators and destroy us all.b:shocked

    also eden probably hasnt read the topic up to now, I posted way back near the beginning about a guy I know, literally has his alts flying overhead in party with him while he farms like 8 hours a day. Not multi boxed, he's told me his computer specs and it's all on one comp rofl.
