    that was my concern, you read about how online games are a big target for scams and users with harmfull objectives, if so then it could have easily been sabotaged by a user implementing a piece of software to steal peoples accounts when they log in; if it was from an un-official and un-trusted source.

    Another question o.o if you download the patch early, does it auto-update or do you have to open it or...?

    you will have to manually open it, just open up the client; when it prompts to update click no/cancel then drag and drop the downloaded patch onto the client, it will then update using the doanloaded patch.

    remember only do this when the servers are down for maint

    Apparently maint will be only 1 hour.

    No, but if you patch it before servers go down, then you wont be able to login to PWI until after maint.

    Drag the downloaded file (Patch) into the client programe, as shown in the image below (the link is safe dont worry =p) the Client will then update using that file

    and the reason for only doing it when the servers are down for maint is because if you patch it now you wont be able to play the game untill after maint, so you can continue playing now and then patch during maint and be ready for when the servers go back up.

    If you you didnt do it manually, you basically have to wait till the servers come back up; then wait a good 30mins + for the client to auto patch itself. So it is faster to manually download the patch so that you can play faster whent eh servers are back up.

    Optionally, you can click on the "Manual Patch" button, and then navigate to wherever you downloaded the patch file.

    Good point, pre-patched players will already be lvl 5, while their buds are still waiting for the download to complete b:laugh

    Additionally, you are helping the community, because the more ppl that pre-patch, the less ppl that need to download the patch after the maintenance is complete...which means there will be less load on the "Official" download servers.

    so does this mean we have to redownload everything???, bc i see that on the main page it says, download genesis for free. so im confused???

    No, you don't have to redownload the whole client. You just need to update it when maintenance is over or download the manual patch.

    Just take note that when you download the manual patch, that if you patch now, you won't be able to access the game until after maintenance.

    No. If you already have PWI downloaded you just have to download the patch.

    If you already dowloaded the patch file, then all you need to do is wait until the server maintenance starts to install it. When the servers come back online, you will be good to go.

    ok ty all for the reply. so just do what i usually do, get off at eleven and then just get back on in like an hour or 2 bc i have it on automatic update. correct???

    IF YOU ARE BRAND NEW TO PERFECT WORLD
    - never played before
    - havent installed anything yet

    Please go to the Perfect World Main Page to download the complete game.


    IF YOU ARE ALREADY PLAYING PERFECT WORLD
    - game currently intalled

    You have 2 choices:
    1) Wait until serverl maintenance is completed, when you log back in, you will automatically be prompted to install the update.

    2) Download the "MANUAL PATCH" now, then install it after the server maintenance starts. With this method, you will be ready to play as soon as the servers come back online.

    Btw, just out of curiosity, is it possible for any Mod or even a GM to post the Seeker and Mystic male and female forum icons so we can see how they look like? I think in the Rising Tide expansion someone posted the Psychic and Assassin male and female forum icons the night before the expansion. b:cute
