I don't know why heehee but I seem to use blaze scarab quite a bit. Maybe I am doing something wrong. But with my walker I don't have him fighting just one mob. I have him fighting 3-4. I know at higher levels maybe that will pose a problem but for now it works heehee. Here's what I do:

I keep icicle on at all times. I send him(bubba is his name) after a mob and cast blazing scarab. And immediately have him use roar on mob number 2. If they are close that is. After he uses icicle on that mob I send him to the next using roar. I keep him healed. After the mobs are attacking him I use tough. Whole time blazing scarab is working on at least 2 out of the 4 mobs. Then I just venomous them down. Ironwood the one he's attacking.

I don't know if that is a smart tactic but it seems to be working for me. I havn't used fox form yet. Have purge at level 2 but am keeping amplify damage leveled. b:cute

Veno's are by far my fav class. I am having an absolute blast. I still watch my surroundings and where the mobs spawn.

One question I have is about meh genie. All I have so far is earthflame and second wind. What other 2 skills should I get? I keep my genie leveled with me. I know that's waisting exp and spirit but I use her quite a bit. Plus she has 715k stamina so I won't run out anytime soon b:chuckle.

You all have been so good to me and I thank you very much. I am a very quick learning girl. But I'm missing my veno so back to playing. *huggles* b:cute

No, that works fine - you're REALLY gonna enjoy it when you get your AOE skills. The only problem blazing has is that it doesn't do very much damage; either total or spike.
It's actually our most mana-efficient attack. (Well, magical attack. Consume spirit, or just plain old attacking with teeth are, obviously, even cheaper)

As for not using fox: You MUST get and learn to use amplify damage.
Low levels of amp damage are basically rubbish - they don't last long enough to be any use at all. But when you get to 5 or 6 you should start using it on elites/bosses, to get into the habit.

Edit: Blazing is also slow to cast, that can be a problem sometimes. But the way you are using it sounds pretty much exactly the way it is designed to be used. Also works to throw blazing then dig up some herbs whilst it runs.

Edit2: Genies... ahh, there's a can of worms. Personally I like earthquake (10) - it's the only remaining perfect interrupt. Very useful if you get it right.
The various "speed up casting" ones are often suggested - lightning chaser is one I've tried. I found I didn't use it often enough to be worth it for me, but lots of people swear by it. (Then again, lots of people use extreme poison, or that one that makes the ground go all spiky, and I don't use those either)

Holy path is another commonly useful skill.

One of the stranger skills is the veno-specific one - I forget its name, but the effect is "Soul-Transfusion my target". I'm sure you can figure out a few fun uses for that. (Just don't use it at the wrong time!)

The Tai-Chi one (speed up everyone nearby's regeneration) is usually one to avoid, by the way - it doesn't play well with apothecary items or cleric buffs.

Other ones to consider, but which depend on playstyle, are the "resist movement debuff" ones and the "temporary invulnerability" ones. They both work well on their own, but combined with some of our skills (I'm specifically thinking about Bramble-Hood here) they become truly terrifyingly good.

I went ahead and picked up tangling mire as a third skill. I've used amplify a few times but you're right heehee doesn't last long at all. It's level 2 I believe. You are suggesting holy path. Doesn't summer sprint take care of a speed boost or would holy path stack with that speed increase skill? *Huggles* b:cute

They don't stack - but holy path is much MUCH faster, it just doesn't last very long.

You're right that in normal use we can pretty much keep up with the tigers whilst running through a dungeon; we don't need holy path just to keep up like clerics do.

But it's still useful for escaping from a bad situaiton, or for running through clappers and for a couple of places in the cube.

It's not a 'use every day' skill, but then I prefer 'use very occaisonally' skills on my genie anyway. Like second wind.
You could also consider tree-of-protection, and blinding sand - but those have been severely nerfed compared to how good they used to be.

amp damage lasts longer and longer the higher level it is, and keeping it as high a level as you can is worth it. once you're working in a squad and fighting any halfway serious boss, keeping that boss amped and ironwooded as much of the time as possible is the job of whichever veno has the highest-level amp and ironwood in the squad. assuming they don't have to nail down their pet heal key, at any rate...

i don't much like extreme poison, myself; its duration is so short i'm not likely to get off more than one attack while it lasts. still, it's a good stacking debuff, nothing wrong with that.

holy path is so much used by basically everyone else in the game (except maybe barbs) that you almost need to get it. summer sprint will let you keep up, most of the time, especially once you get level 2 of it later on --- but sometimes a BH or FB will just turn into a holy path-fest as EVERYBODY uses that skill, and, well...

tangling mire is one i get more than i use it... its AOE has bitten me a couple of times, dragging in aggro i hadn't meant to. still, i see it used by others a lot, so i might just be missing something about it.
