The Ultimate New Players Guide to Crafting and Harvesting

One thing that worked for me was to find 3-5 locations for them that are not too far apart and just cycle between them. =D
A couple good sites to see where locations to harvest are:
http://www.pwdatabase.com
http://www.pwmap.ru/pwi
Hope I helped ^^0 -
Yes^^ Thanks.
I got another Question, i saw that in the Warehouse Logs are selling for 1-2k each. Since they are collected quite easy, would it be a good Idea for a Beginner to just collect them to get a little bit more Money? For a Level 15 its not bad i think. I already crafted my own Bow, its not realy good, but still better than the NPC one, lol.0 -
great guide thanks a lot for posting0

Thanks for posting this thread it has really helped me out and im alot better at Crafting then i was before i hope you do some more posts b:laugh0
-
Thanks for you efforts it is well appreciated.
When I need basic info of where to find things I have found this website VERY HELPFUL
http://pwmap.ru/pwi/
But also would like to see locations of the more advanced herbs, Mobs and other higher level information. So I can avoid them when playing my lower characters and find stuff quickly when playing my higher level characters. Like higher level quests that are given to you when you are to low to do them and you always need to know where to get any herb when you need them.0 -
Thanks was getting really pissed off after making 6 lvl 3 weapons and not gaining exp at least know I know I need to be lvl 50 so I can continue collecting and stop wasting mats...It;d be nice if the game would have let me know that.0

so, i went to tailor lo and theres no quest available to learn tailor skill, ive been looking everywhere and nobody is offering me to learn it. wtf? i bought a hat of ice silk, because i needed yiyuan stones. so i went to DB to locate them, and found that i can get them by decomposing things like the hat of silk ice, so i figured that wold be a cheap way to get what i need. but i cant learn the damn skill now to do that, and the only reason im trying to learn the skill is because apparently i need to have it to decompose things. i thought i could just go up to any elder and a list of all the different skills would pop up.. but this is just ****. how do i get the skills, and why is this not an easy 1-2-3 operation like it should be? i feel like im missing something here..0
-
omg awesome. u saved my noob life
ty alot!

why can't i find the decomposing options on the blacksmith, tailor, craftsman etc. menu?0
-
ok.. i am lost.. i went and gathered materials.. got my tailor skill to level 2.
now when i use the materials to manufacture stuff to gain my tailor skill level 2. .. my skill bar isnt moving.
i have wasted a ton of materials trying to gain my tailor skill level 2 and its not moving. i dbl checked that i had gone to the elder and bought the tailor skill level 2.. but when i manufacture.. nothing is happening...
any help???0 -
I am kind of in the same boat.
Pharmacist skills work, but can't produce any level three stuff till my character reaches lvl 45. Don't like that much at all!
Blacksmith and Tailor levels however are not changing at all, even though I make and decompose plenty. I am getting tired of collecting materials if I can't progress.
Come on mods, how about some indication you are reading these posts? A response of any kind would be better than ignoring us. I gave up on PW-MY because of the apathy of the developers and mods there. I like this damn game - how about some support?0 -
LynxWhite - Archosaur wrote: »why can't i find the decomposing options on the blacksmith, tailor, craftsman etc. menu?
You have to get the skillbook and then do the first quest the blacksmith, etc. gives you and you will get it.0 -
mzcarolyn, Now that you have Tailoring level 2, are you making the same items you made before to level up your Tailoring? Once you get level 2, you have to make items that require level 2 Tailoring to increase the experience on your bar. When you talk to a tailor and see the various armors you can make, you can click on any of them to see which level tailoring they require and also what materials you need to make them.
Hope that helped!
Happy Tailoring ^^0 -
I've realised this wasn't updated for so long but I'm still gonna read it. Don't know if its of use yet but...yeah. Theres sandstone at 430 858 near EtherBlade.0

Great guide.
I would suggest including the fact that you can't make level 1 items at the NPC's in Archosaur. This took me a long time to figure out, as I had only upgraded one manufacturing skill in my hometown, and then later wanted to upgrade the others to level 2, but the blacksmith/tailor in Arch didn't have any LV1 items for me to make, so I couldn't raise the experience bar, and I wasn't yet eligible to make LV2 items. I thought it was a bug in the game that all my LV1 items were gone.
I finally gave a shot out of desperation and went back to Plume City and tried the blacksmith there, and ta-da!, I was able to make all my LV1 items and upgrade to LV2, so now I'm back in Arch where most of my quests are.
I guess they assumed that by the time you get to Archosaur you have already upgraded skills to LV2.0 -

This is a guide written to help people within the game of
perfectworld have an enjoyable experience while learning
Trade skills within the game.
The first thing you need to begin crafting in perfectworld
is to reach level 5. Until then you cannot craft any items
period. You can begin gathering before level 5, but you
will need the pickaxe bought at one of the merchants
listed in this guide to begin doing so.
Once you reach level 5 you need to go see the Elder in your
town. He will give you the following quests. The quests are
the same for each of the starting towns, although the
location of the Elder and the Merchants are different for
each town. Look for the appropriate location for the town
you are in.

Basically for these quests you must go out and gather
materials. Now this is where some people have a hard
time. Without knowledge of where to look for the materials
and a good plan for getting the materials, most people
really have a hard time with this. So I decided to present
this guide to finding materials and gathering productively.
__________________________________________________
__________________________________________________
Ok, Gathering Materials means you must first Buy a Pickaxe.
You can purchase a pickaxe at the following merchants.
__________________________________________________
For the City of the Lost - Merchant Fu (261 636)
For the City of Plume - Merchant Lo (327 436)
For the Town of Etherblade - Merchant Mu (445 901)
__________________________________________________
Now that you have a pickaxe you need to find the appropriate
places to gather your raw materials. This is very frustrating
unless you know how to do it. First of all let me say that all
the raw material gathering resources de spawn after you use them
1 time. Now let me say that each resource spawns after a time
in the same spot it was just at. So basically you need to make
a list of the resource spawn locations for the materials you
are trying to find.
__________________________________________________
-=-Note-=-
For gathering materials each tier item has a level requirement
to be able to gather them. Materials used to create lvl 1 and 2 items
can be gathered by anyone with a pickaxe in their inventory. For the
Lvl 3 items you must gather the next tier of items. These items cannot
be gathered until your character is level 20. Crafting skill does not
matter here. This is your characters level. There are other materials
with higher level requirements, however this is a new players guide
so we will leave those out for now.

I will be posting some known spawn locations for you to use.
Before I post the spawn locations I would like to show you how
to use these location numbers.
First I have heard some people say they cannot see arrows
floating at the edge of their screen when they track quests.
If you cannot you need to fix this. Anyhow if this next step
does not show you arrows, then this trick will not help and
you will just have to manually walk to the locations. The
location numbers can be found on the mini map in the top
right corner of your screen. If you cannot see the mini map,
then you need to click the button in the top right corner
of your screen.
Now for the next step. On your mini map there is an icon that
when hovered over, it says coordinates assistant. click on
this and you should get a box pops up that shows a list of
location names in the left, and a set of coordinates in the
input field for the right side. What you will do here is
to add the coordinates for the type of material you are
looking for in the input window, When you input them,
Do NOT use a comma. Input it as ### ###
then click enter, then type a name for it and hit enter. It should
add a new entry with the name you typed in showing in the
right hand box now.
Close the coordinates window by clicking the same button on
the mini map that you used to open it. Now on your screen
you should see a new arrow on the edge, That is guiding you
to the location you inputted into the coordinates assistant.
Follow that arrow till you get to the spot. When you get
close. on the minimap, you will see a little colored circle
on the ground, the same color as the arrow. thats your
location spot where the harvest spot spawns. If it is there
great, if not look around as these are not always 100% right
on target. But they will be close (By close I mean no more
than a 20 foot circle around the dot.)
Ok now you can add up to 5 coordinates to track at one time
in the coordinate assistant. So that should help you find them.
add 4 - 5 locations and run a pattern and if you time them
right you will have no problem locating your materials for both
the crafting quests and for the crafting itself.

-=-Note-=-
Certain crafting materials are dropped from monsters
or bought in the boutique (Example: Cotton Thread, Rough
Fur, Grease,etc.). If you do not wish to purchase the items
and wish to get them yourself you will be required to kill the
monsters. To find a list of what monsters drop what crafting
material here is a good website link to go check out.
http://www.pwdatabase.com/my/
【goto】 → 【Items】 → 【Materials】 → 【Basic Materials】
And for the Crafted Items Like Copper Bars
【goto】 → 【Items】 → 【Materials】 → 【Crafted Materials】
__________________________________________________
__________________________________________________
-=-Note-=-
When you craft, Certain items you make require you to use
gems when crafting them. Examples are Red Jade, Yellow
Jade, etc. These items can purchased from a Merchant
at a reasonable cost. Certain creatures drop these, but
the drop rates are very slow in comparison to just
purchasing them at a merchant.
Also certain items you craft at the apothocary will need
ingredients called Yiyuan stones. These items are made
from taking armor, weapons, or ornaments and bringing
them to the appropriate NPC (Blacksmith for Weapons,
Tailor for Armor, etc.) and picking the option to Decompose
Weapon, Ornament, etc.
Use the appropriate level item to decompose for the
different quality stones. Yinyuan are the lowest so use
lower level items to get them.
(Note) The higher the quality, the more stones you get
back. ☆ items give a lot less than ☆☆ items.
☆☆☆ items seem to always give mirage stones back.
__________________________________________________
__________________________________________________
Ok now you got your materials and want to start crafting. Now
go finish the 4 quests by returning to the corresponding NPC, then
each one will give you a book. Once you have all 4 books, go to the
elder and choose the option learn manufacturing skill Click each
skill and click yes to learn them. (Note the book must be in your
inventory when you talk to the Elder)
Ok so now you are level 1 skilled in all 4 professions and want
to craft, so what do you do. Well you goto your corresponding
Craft type merchant (Tailor for tailoring, Blacksmith for Blacksmithing,
etc) and choose one of the following:
Manufacture Weapons (For Blacksmithing)
Remedy Manufacturing (For Alchemy)
Manufacture Equipment (For Tailor)
Manufacture Ornaments (For Craftsman)
Now when the window opens, you pick the item you wish to make
and you will see a list of the materials needed. They must be
in your inventory in order to craft the item. Also note when
you choose the item it will say under the list of ingredients
(Requires whichever Skill 1 or 2, etc) That is the required
skill you need to make the item. Since you are just starting
out, make the skill level 1 items. As you make the items,
there is a bar on the top right of the window that fills up
as you make items. Once that fills up, you can then go see
the Elder and train the skill to advance to the next skill level.
You can do this all the way up until skill level 3. Once you get
skill level 3. You are stuck here until you obtain level 50 on
your character. and once you do that, you will then be offered
quests to advance to skill level 4 and beyond, just like you
did for getting skill 1 unlocked.

Hey, Great guide! One suggestion: Update it for the Tide Borns, and when PWI: Genisis comes out, update it for that too! It would then be a complete works, and one of the best guides I've seen for this game. Thanks!0

Good question, fly to the forest of plume and find 'withered root' around some trees, might take you a few minutes to find them, then use a pickaxe purchased from merchant to get it. There are also many withered root in other place especially around forest, good luck.b:victory0
