Remove safety lock or disable pvp during safety lock so people drop more?
Would players who can't afford a dozen Guardian Scrolls per day stop with pvp?
I would like to see -> disable pvp during safety lock, but make Guardian Scrolls alot cheaper.
What do you think?

This would result on more bound equipments so less offer therefore more expensive gear...
Like frost weapons/ TT90 greens gears etc etc..

PvP is a toss up for me in this game. Don't take this as a qq because it is not its just that I have been a part of other mmos with much better pvp systems (so why am I here? cause PWI has a decent combination of both PvE and PvP).
So my points are as follows:
1) Charms diminish the value of PvP because its a item not always easily available to everyone e.g. right now on harshlands a hp charm (plat) is roughly 2.5-3.5 mil. However in light of the greatly increased power of players they now do serve a useful purpose in terms of extending the length of time you can stay alive (genies offer a similar contribution to PvP).
2) Safety lock. It promotes more PvP because more player will participate if they know they won't drop their gear. On the other hand it has created a carebear environment and one in which there is no real penalty for going red. Also the binding charm/doll/scroll markets have been on a decline.
3) Assasins. There stealth is cool BUT in all other mmos stealth comes at an expense. So far having played a sin to 7x and Pvped with it up to 9x levels I see no drawbacks to stealth use. Furthermore there is almost always a class that can detect stealth, sure we have pots but its not like they are available at an npc (that I know of) and so detection is for about 80% of the server a waste of time.
Now as I said its just my assessment and not a qq and that is because I still enjoy a good pk war and its too much fun for me to bother about the little things. You see most of those things except safety lock become non issues once you are in group pvp and that is the kind of PvP I enjoy most.0 -
so basically put a coin sink in pvp? no ty, find other ways to get $$
besides, that makes SL pointless; kill till all GAs are gone (or put them in bank) and then kill till he drops...0 -
I'm for it if GS/GAs can be bought from NPC for like 25k each.0

IF it was made so you could only ever drop with hours, id agree with it, but otherwise no.
I got sick of dropping whenever I defended myself, thats why I have a 1:30 SL and I relog even when im just grinding or w/e
Paranoia would keep me from bothering retaliating and id simply have to let people bully me out of my grind or w/e

---Oh, and no matter the cost, scrolls will cost too much. Unless theyre like 10k each, they cost too much to use until you are 100, and even then you cant really afford to spend 1mill on 20 PvP deaths.(Assuming the 50k someone mentioned).0 -
Well people also pay 3mil for hp charms. If a bm with 7k hp dies 20 times, that's about 500k coins b:shocked
If his charm ticks in pvp and he dies, that's 10k~ charm per death.0 -

It gives you a warning. You have to enter in a time and then confirm it. It gives you two times to cancel it before the Safety Lock is turned on for whatever time you entered.

Admittedly, that post is rather old, but it clearly defines what the intended purpose of safety lock is. Pkers that use safety lock to avoid dropping items are simply exploiting a game mechanism to give themselves an advantage. According to TOS, this is a bannable offense.

As far as I know, they implemented the Gear Shatter thing so one COULD use Safety Lock for PVP, as when Safety Lock is engaged, your gear has a chance of shattering rather then Dropping and what not. Maybe I'm wrong, I'ma carebear, lol.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

No SL = No PvP. Scrolls are way too expensive for most people to afford to burn that fast.
Just remove SL and all penalties(red hours and white/pink drops) from PvP unless you're killing people more than 15-20 levels below you. Voila. People can PvP freely on PK servers vs people their own level, lowbie killers drop stuff like crazy, and everyone's happy.0
