Why does archer have winged pledge?

I feel like I should support Yulk on this.
I have sage 5aps gear, and a +5 tt99 green crossbow, and a very small amount of channelling gear. And, with -6% channelling and my current crossbow, I have higher dps with certain (sage) skills than with my normal attack on my crossbow.
If I had +12 nirvana slingshot or bow, or if I stopped using my hybrid build, I am sure that my skill 6% channel dps would be laughable compared to my normal attack. However, in the right contexts, it can provide a small boost.
(I sort of like having advantages, especially in TW, that other people are unaware of, but this is a minor advantage and I do not like seeing people get picked on unfairly.)0 -

Wow...youre a GENIUS!!! BRAVO BRAVO!!!
Thanks for the entertainment Yulk. b:bye
I forgot its useless to sit and argue with you since either nothing gets thru your thick skull or you take immense pleasure in looking stupid.
Stop failing at simple maths dude.

This is with max interval, to DO 3 shots in 3 seconds. 1.05 * 3 = 3.15. also, maxed take aim demon is 400% damage, while sage has 500% damage better than normal attack. So yeah, I guess I am laughable because it is better to spend $250+ USD just to get 1.05 APS. I have not bothered with slingshots, but that weapon is a joke anyway. I might as well use claws.
Without interval is 0.62 to 0.71, makes it almost EVERY attack in TWO seconds, to near 3 attacks in 4 seconds.
0.62 * 3 = 1.86
0.67 * 3 = 1.91
0.71 * 3 = 2.13 (worst weapon too)
Compare with this, archers/assassins have more access to interval than bms too, no interval on poleaxe. Also BMs have crit bonus from skill adding 25% crit so 25+16=41% for 30 secs, which is more than enough on non bosses

You have enlightened me with only huge amounts of $$$ is good on archer, I had no idea...
Thanks for the joke. Troll harder b:byeKatozuma - Raging Tide wrote: »WOW wouldn't arcane +axe archer be good at first but around endgame become a walking diaster?
Sage version would make the skill spammable(i think)
Demon version slows ppl down but wait I'm a archer in CC/QC slower opponent who's most likely doing 100% or their damage vs Me who made them slow for 5secs and is only doing 50% due to the range rule.
The skill is good starting out when facing close range mobs but mid-endgame the skill become quite useless even if you do decide to do go demon at 89. Is it worth 1mil in coins &sp to upgrade? Is it worth 1.5mil-1.7mil+ of coins and sp total? Hmm how is the book even worth(probably cheap)?
Like most of the guides for archers and others say best to leave at 1 save you sp and money in the long run.
Not trying to give an sociocentric (is this even a real word?) statement. Hey if you find it useful and got coins and sp to waste by all means go ahead use it.
yay top of the page : ) I feel special
I know axe arcane archer cannot even reach lower mid levels except if they do BHs. I was bored that time. I heard of some that claimed that they saw actual good arcane archers, (bow). So I have yet to try. Most failed, but since archers are ranged... Yet, I hate arcane robes lol.
Again, no matter if winged pledge is spammable, wingspan can do the same, archers are squishy, why should they melee? Archer against archer in melee range is stupid as well. That made me agree the guides that it SHOULD be kept at lvl1 and not to be bothered using it. You are taking more hits, It would be useful for sage/demon HA archers I think, but not LA unless you shard with evasion maybe, which is an expensive choice b:surrenderFleuri - Sanctuary wrote: »I feel like I should support Yulk on this.

6% chan is not that much... Chan does help channel DS faster.I, II and III spark is the most cheesiest skill in PWI and it should be removed or massively nerfed.

48 BM, PvE server. I get it, you're not trolling, you're just bad.
I've oneshot assassins popping out of stealth with Wing Pledge. Casts faster than any other melee skill and it hurts. Honestly, any of you saying it's not awesome are stupid.0 -

Bull, you must have been camping lowbies or that assassin had no defense and using just a normal attack. You must be pulling this out of your rear.

What is the point of this skill? One of the melee skills, wingspan is situational, but winged pledge is just flat out useless. You are meleeing in light armor with no defense bonus skill besides winged shell which is rather used for MP regen in most occasions.
Take aim > stunning arrow > deadly shot > aim low/ knockback arrow > quickshot > repeat is rather a nice combination. frost arrow works when mob is like 15 meters away from you, allowing you to kite easier. I never use winged pledge, because it is useless to be in melee range, easier to die this way while your attack suffers anyway.
Not useful for squad or solo...
Knockback arrow and frost arrow have a less than ideal cooldown.
It deals decent damage and it can be more convenient to use a skill than to kite. I also get a bit lazy sometimes I so just alternate between wingspan and winged pledge.
I've also used it in duels against AA without bramble when in a small area.
I must disagree with you when you say winged shell is used for MP regen in most occasions. It is AWESOME in duels, when you pull aggro, when a mob gets a bit too close, when you aggro more than one mob, and several other occasions.
Given it's not a great skill, but it's not as bad as vicious arrow.I'm hated by former friends, entire factions, PWE, and people I've never met before. I'm hated on servers I've never logged onto.
... and I honestly wasn't even trying.
Enrage has nothing on me.

Assassin is squishy except focused mind/tidal and dreaden nerves. You don't realize how squishy tideborns are. And the fact that you have never even gone over level 49 makes you more fail. Also, the fact that you said genies suck on your sig makes you more fail. Lastly, the fact you put PWV on your sig makes me assume that you played it, which makes you even more fail.AP classes are a real butt pounding...0 -

I never said winged shell was useless, I just manage to have my archer not hit that much that winged shell is not really necessary for a shield. Good skill.ArchSaber - Sanctuary wrote: »Assassin is squishy except focused mind/tidal and dreaden nerves. You don't realize how squishy tideborns are. I never said tideborns are not squishy, they are squishy, but not that squishy. I have played tideborn up to lvl20+ (psy 21 and sin lvl30). I have passed 49 multiple times already, also not passing above 49 does not make you fail. It is being called on and off.
Also genies are for babies, so lets cut it out with the pampering munchkins. They are easy mode.
You assume I played PWV, I have not even downloaded it or bothered going on the site, I realized that on some youtube videoes were actually PWV... I assumed they **** on PW ROFL. I thought PWV was another server in some country to be honest.... So you are wrong there.I, II and III spark is the most cheesiest skill in PWI and it should be removed or massively nerfed.

Knockback arrow has a slow cooldown, but frost arrow has a 3 second cooldown. Managing cooldowns for skill based shooting can be a pain, and rapidly breaks any macros we might want to use, but the big limitation on sustained frost arrow use is the 30 chi it needs. But if you only using frost to slow down monsters and are not using winged shell, you should also be able to ignore its chi requirements.
Meanwhile, if you are sage, knockback arrow's cooldown is a bit nicer (10 seconds, or six uses per minute). And you should not need to use knockback arrow in most battles -- ideally you should probably only use knockback in pve when you get a bad sequence of misses along with lack of crits along with low damage hits.0 -

Hmm, maybe no one was answering his question correctly.
"Why does archer have winged pledge?"
Well, young man Yulk, one rainy evening, about 500 years ago, fourteen members of the Elf Council got together in the grand city of Plume to discuss matters of Pan Gu, while other younger elves watched in silent reverence. As the wind howled and the water drenched their elvish boots, they hurried into the grand meeting hall.
The Elf Council all settled down with grandeur on their carved chair, and were drinking their margaritas and solving Sudokus when Toby spoke up. "I think we totally need another Archer attack, in melee."
The other thirteen members of the council looked up at him and carefully contemplated what he said. Now, see, Toby was the youngest there. At a mere 400 years of age, his opinion would not have mattered in the slightest if it were not for the fact that Toby's father made very generous contributions to the council. After a very heated discussion, eight voted in favor, one elder had stormed off, and another one had to be revived.
And that's why Archers have Winged Pledge.
RL and devs? What's that?0 -

There are times when both Knock back arrow and Wingspan is on cooldown and like why even bother to kite in pve after 90? Not like mobs, even elite ones, hits you very hard at higher levels. So you use Winged Pledge to finish of the kill.
But i agree that Winged Pledge is one of the more useless skills you get as archer. Really only in instances, like FBs, where you cant knock back mele mobs that you will use it more frequently. Winged Pledge is also pretty fast to cast if you just wanna finish of a mele mob. But if you have claw/fist and high interval you wont use Winged Pledge much at all tho in pve.
In pvp its pretty useless, unless a squishy is standing on top of you and only has a sliver of life left and you know his charm will kick in any second...but that never happens unless you're in cube or something.0 -
Should i lvl up quickshot?0

i stopped from a bit to play pwi, cuz of toooooooo many csers and cuz bored of farming (and without time to do it).
but winged pledge and wingspan are 2 good skills for ea, in both pve or pvp.
When mob is enuf near to ya, what to do?
Winged pledge + wingspan + knockback arrow is the best combo if u can knockback the mob.
In pvp is also a good skill to kill AA users if they're too near to ya. Winged pledge is a melee atk based on ranged weap power, so it's good if u're not a bow/fast aps fist archer.
If archers have melee skills, i'm sure there's a reason. Archer is not born as fist user, but as ranged weap user, and with melee skills, can avoid the dmg reduction. Good to finish killing when u're bored to kite or when u cant kite anymore.0
