Oh and it's 47 lands now, since tideborn patch.
And rank 9 armor costs 3 medals per piece and 300k fame in previous PWI versions, so like 18 medals for each character to attain the whole set, which comes with set blessings like TT99 or nirvana. So... 3 sets a year for your whole faction if you control the whole map or 18 weapons assuming you can get 18 players with over 300k rep in 1 faction (think EQ has 4 rank 8 200k rep: illy, goonz, fiz, cheze, 2 are retired players, cala has 3)
And mirages will never hit 20k again, or tokens, with so many pack sales on tokens and BH1 rewards, TW rewards, etc giving you a crapload of mirages and tokens, you'd be lucky to get 10k for any of those, well at least with mirages the merchant always pay 10k.
I do agree on eliminating refund as a "counter-fake bid tactic" as a blow for the small factions that TW. I'm glad someone else noticed, small factions paid a lot of coin before for a TW, and they always covered their expenses themselves, the ones that cared to TW at least.

we already spent nearly 7 mill on our last tw which we do yes for fun but our win is 1.5 mill worth of mirages that wont even pay the repairs of our members. Also the bidding process is super fail if you get outbid why keep the money? Its said to end fake bidding but how much fake bidding is there really? you also take small factions out of the tw loophole by scaring them into thinking they will lose every penny they have. C'mon we all want a fair tw server but we want fun in doing so.
Im sure if the GM's put more thought into it they can come up with a much better idea than what they have now. It seems that greed has taken over this game and greed will destroy it. GM's remember whos paying your paychecks at the end of the week and remember this is a game its supposed to be enjoyable. I am leader of Tempest we have done many many many tw's yet have no land of our own so its not about greed on our end. I would think that even the ones with land like Cala and EQ would support a server reset vs. the new current system at least then there members could afford there apothecary,repairs,charms, cata scrolls etc. needed for tws.
And as i said before the smaller factions who dont have the luxury of all the high levels as we do in Tempest they will be broke by being outbid and robbed of the fun of a tw if even if theres lasted but 10 mins or more. I would really like for the Gm's to rethink the new tw system and work on it. Why not put it to a vote or post for ideas and see what your players really feel needs to be done.

Just quoting one part, since it's late/early and i want to get to bed lol. The GMs make it sound like fake bidding is rampant and nothing could be done about it before but change the system. I'm curious who else would agree with me that fake bidding wasn't really a problem before the change, at least from what i could see. Every week Cala and EQ would/still do attack each other, 1-2 training tws, x faction's attack on forest of the haze (x being whoever won the bid between HDT/Tempest/Inversion most recently), and then other random attacks on Calamity/EQ. Was there a lot of fake bidding going on that i just missed? o.O
Also, I'm curious to know who thinks that these changes have actually made tw more fair than it was before the change. I don't think it has personally, but too tired to write out a wall of text about it lol. Anyone have thoughts on this?0 -
I feel it is unfair Tempest has worked hard for over a year to get to the status of having many high levels working hard on levels, gear and faction structure so we could earn a place on the tw map. When we began to tw yes i felt fake bidding was a part till i realized that these were other small factions just trying to have there name out there to have others interested in there factions. If this is to help the tw process then they need to give us real reasons other than b.s. us about what they are doing if wanting to make a more competitve map to make more factions thrive then have the old system but tweak it a bit where no faction could own more than 51% or whatevers closest when doing the math to be just over 50% which will show dominance of the map. And after dominance occurs maybe either make it so no pay is received for lands picked up after that to discourage further land ownership. Just another idea see pwi ask your playing members what they want and you just may have the answers as to what needs to be done. I dont usually waste any time on these forums but i feel very passionate about this situation. So lets see a change to the system i know you can do it you took out the horns when everyone complained and at one point in time you shut that loud mouth Duke up for the same reason, and now its time you work on this. I would like to know from the other faction leaders how many of your members have mentioned quitting the game because of this.I would say more but dont want to be banned b:surrenderFunniest tw request ever b:thanks0

TW Changes made TW less interesting. I hope GMs are able to roll the changes back to a more beneficial system for TW players, even event cash is a great idea for the TW payout. 15 minutes TWs have never been rewarding or amusing as 2 hour wars.
People should TW for fun, not TW pay. A lot of Calas started making farming squads to cover their TW costs this week, if more factions can coordinate this, this would promote not just faction unity, but help everyone get their TW funding.
As for TW Pay? I get 57 mirages a week, I average more per week if I do all my BH1's b:surrender[sigpic][/sigpic]

Also, alot of interesting views here, but overall most seem to be agreed that the changes to the TW system won't, infact, make the TW scene more fair or interesting..
It's a bit of a shame really. It depends on what you want to get out of it I suppose. I always TW'ed because it was really fun, having a place to do group/team pvp without having to worry about dropping/shattering gear and items. So, for me, not too much has changed, I will still TW when I can.
It does look like alot of other people were more interested in the money though, what with the decline in TW attendance for some factions. I find it a bit strange though, that EQ seems to be affected more than Cala, struggling to get 80 ppl on for TWs. As they never got that big of a payout anyway.. More mercenaries in EQ than Cala? I would have thought it opposite, mercenaries usually goes where they paycheck is largest...0 -

So back on topic, allow me to recap the update, and clear it up after the first week of bidding.
1. All bids will now be secret bids:
What really happens, is that the name of the faction that bid remains secret, the land that's being attacked remains announced, so will be the announcement of new bidding. This only promotes last minute bidding in order to not be outbid or to waste more coin than what it is really needed. Sort of could aim to stop fake bidding, if fake bidders were dumb enough to not notice and save their bids to last minute as well.

This, from my understanding means, you pick 1 land, you pay one price, if someone else outbid you, gg, can't change it or go for a new land. Maybe Tempest and HDT leaders can confirm on this? They were both bidding for Dynasty land as far as I know?
The highest secret bid wins that faction the opportunity to attack the territory at the scheduled time.
At the end of the bidding, winners are finally announced. TW schedule remains 8:00, 8:03 and 8:06 PM server time, saturday, friday, sunday in that order for the dominant faction, depending on the land that was bid on. Which means, you can still plan or break a fake bid if you know where your allies/enemies are bidding on.
2. Bids will no longer be refunded.
You get outbid, you will lose the money you bid on. I don't know how many times you can re-raise/bid though. Also, I assume the system won't let you bid on a land that has already been bid on with a higher bid than the one you're planning on to do. I'll elaborate:
If Faction A and B want to attack faction C in City of Old Heavens Tear.
Faction A leader bids 1m coin hoping that he gets the higher bid.
Faction C and Server are announced of the attack in this land.
Faction B leader assumes that Faction A did a minimum bid, so they raise to 500k. The system won't allow said bid to happen, until he passes the 1m bid made by Faction A leader.
If this is correct, the new anti-fake bidding system isn't gonna fix fake bidding, it's just gonna act as a coin drain when the bid surpasses the 1.5m for a land, because before that, TW pay covers TW bid... it will only make it worse. If the leader of Faction C was scared of A and B, He'd just pay/create Faction D so they can bid anything under 150 mirages and take off the bidding both factions A and B and keep his mirages and teleport for another week b:chuckle
This change, if it is as I understand it, kills the fun in TW. As any faction leader that is smart and cold hearted enough to wait to the last 1-2 minutes of the bid, can take out a full 80's fun with 1 bid. This is where PW-CN dev team thought of draining coin out, and not TW fun at all.
Notes: Minimun bid was reduced to 100k (10 mirages out of 150 paid for a lvl 3 territory). If this was to be compared to 10m payout of a land, the new cost of a bid is 15% out of your TW payout for land, as oposed to 5% that used to be. Costs of towers and catapult scrolls remained unchanged, 100k per tower, 20k per cata scroll.
3. The TW victor no longer receives any part of the winning bid. This is very clear, the new "bid war" wont benefit the defending faction.
4. Rewards for holding territories will no longer be coin-based. Instead, the rewards will be a combination of Mirage Celestones and the chance of being sent the Medal of Glory
It is unclear as of hour many medals of glory are needed to make rank 9 gear, some translations from PW-CN say that rank 9 gear requires a total of 3 medals, some other say that it is 3 medals per piece of gear (4 armor parts, 1 weapon). I believe second description as a more accurate one, based on logical thought: if you don't/can't get the full set. Won't you be able to get 1 piece? And if you can get 1 piece, will you pay half a medal for it? o.o
A faction that holds land through a whole year would have enough medals to make full rank 9 set to 18/200 members, or get rank 9 weapons to 18/200 members, by such logic. Which means, powerful TWs factions are pushed to hold to their lands, in order to prevent up and comers from getting medals and make godly gear themselves.
Overall. The update killed endgame TW for PWI servers. it does work as a drain of coin, as you can see more and more non cash players quitting the game and expressing their disappointment with the update, but this drain doesn't fulfills the "main goal" of controlling the price of gold, Gold, as I said previously raises/falls thanks to what's announced to be in shop for the next patch. As an example, in our server. the 2 "good" packs + D. Orbs and marriage packs averaged a gold price of 410-440k, this crappy coral pack has dropped the price of gold to 390kish, 2 weeks after Calamity, Equinox and Dynasty have been handed mirages. If we are to get a sale of something ridiculous, like say, fireworks or telecoustics this week, the gold price will continue to fall, if instead, we get a new revamped anniversary pack sale, gold will go to 450-490k again by Wednesday evening
TW wise, small and big factions all feel upset about TW changes, to a point where usually Calamity averaged 10-12 TWs a weekend before the update, and we had 7 this past weekend, all resolved in under 30 minutes.
There's no incentive to go TW other than the teleport and the goals a faction would have set up for themlselves, like it happens with Calamity, Dynasty, Equinox, HDT, Tempest and Vanquish, and even this factions, as well as the small ones that wanted to take part on. Now are seeing the cost of gold, either by coin or by charging money, not worth it for what it would be given back in return. Because let's face it, there's an app. of
1/200 (members) * N/47 (N = lands you hold) * 1/52 (weeks) that you get a medal for yourself. And then you ONLY need 9999 chips x 3 and 300k reputation to achieve rank 9 gear.
If I was still in my TT90 gear, if I still had a lvl 1 tome. I'd rather spend the money I spend on charms in TT/Lunar materials, make my build better. As even with a very humble TT99 +5, I still get frustrated when wizzard, goonz, illy, cameltoe or other EQ heavy hitter comes in and 1 shots me. I assume this is what is also gonna hold the small faction's members from TW any time soon.

I have posted three times on the public thread about the TW changes, the first time to openly complain about the changes, as it was a low blow to that particular weekend TW preparation. My reasoning was, if you expect a check of almost 1k USD in your inbox made ingame coin, you plan your expenses on that 1k. If suddenly your employer tells you you'll get 10% of it, next week, we'd be ready. But this week, we'd be screwed.
Second post was made to express doubt about the system, and why I know it's gonna fail before the "trial period" GMs have granted to it expires.

I am a PvEr at heart as well, but I've always been a fan of organized gaming above all. 1. Can not speak for EQ but Calamity will continue to Push a Full 80 Charmed apoced fully loaded TW Army in any War Vs EQ regardles and continue to defend any and all attacks with the same zest
2. TW has allways been for 1 thing only for me and Most 90% of Cala the challange
Coin rewards for TW pay have allways just been a bonus we use to do Crazystones and buy fashon lol.
3. Were still sat as i looked 10 mins ago at 198 / 200 so do the math
4. Changes will not affect any smaller factions at all if you dont TW then the game is the same if you DO try the odd TW again it wont change. Question is do small factions actualy want to spend a few mill in TWs for a 6 miniute War. ok i know the min bid went down to 100k but add to this the cost of Towers Cats and all the apoc your gonna need.
But its up to you ....
