Is Frostblade worth leveling past lvl1?
I have heard rumours that it is bugged skill and is only for looks. Some say it adds pretty nice damage and seems sins really like it.
Seems lvl10 deals 30% of my base damage, so theoretically it should deal few hundreds extra damage.

its work- only on auto attack and its 30% equipment dmg not base dmg what is in character window.
dont worth the leveling until ur base pve/pvp skills not max wha u use in grind often and in pvp.0 -
So it should be one of last skills to level up? Is it of any use in gamma?
I have no intentions to level this character pass level 85 and I do only gammas with her (no grinding or pvp...)0 -
Mine is only level 1, but a wizzy friend's barb friend says it helps him keep aggro (hers is maxed).
I don't see how it would help in Gamma, since it only works on normal melee attacks. Skills are used more than normal attacks for melees in Gamma.
And yes, it should be one of the last skills to level up, lower than emberstorm in priority. =PCharacters:

Frostblade works on melee skills too. If you use frostblade on an archer in delta during water immune wave, then they barrage. You see *resist* pop up.Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze0 -
The only class that seems to always ask for the buff is fist BM's.. I hear the buff actually helps quite a bit for them.Youtube Channel: youtube.com/user/D2VeT/videos?flow=grid&view=0

Yea, on water immune boss it says "resist".
There are 2 problems btw: why is the WIZARD that can read "resist" and not the melee with buff? It seems like the damage should be seen on screen by the wizard and not by the melee then.
I got it lv10 and did many many experiments alone and with friends on low level mobs, high level mobs and players, and it seems not to work... these are the results for low level mobs:
I have 7500-9300 mag atk with gear and 560 mag atk without gear:
Buff on myself:
Without buff: 600-700 dmg per hit
With buff: 650-750 dmg (but it was hard to see if there really was a difference)
Buff on barb:
Without: 5000-7000 dmg
With: 5000-7000 dmg (no difference)
Buff on fist bm:
Without: 2000-3000 dmg
With: 2000-3000 dmg (no difference)
since the wide range of damage per hit melee classes got, it was really hard to see the difference of damage if it is very small
then i thought, "what if the additional damage doesnt pop-up summed to the normal damage? since THE WIZ displays "resist" on water immunity boss, i thought "maybe the WIZ should display the damage too, but it simply isnt displayed"
then i did a new experiment: i calculated the difference between the initial hp of the target, and his hp AFTER 1 single normal hit.
Then i confronted the result with the damage displayed by the melee class who hit the mob.
result was: the dmg displayed was exactly the amount of hp detracted from the initial hp.
This mean this skill is totally bugged, or if it isnt, the 30% of base damage added is REALLY 30% of BASE damage, cause my mag atk without equip is 560.
30% of 560 = 168 water dmg added
it could MAYBE fit, cause a so small amount of extra damage is totally impossible to detect.
FINAL RESULT: FIX THIS SKILL AS IT IS WIZ'S ONLY WAY TO BE APPRECIATED IN PVE PARTIES IF WE DONT CASH SHOP LIKE HELL TO GET +12 WEAPON. b:angry
A 10% of GEAR mag attack extra water damage @ lv10 skill would be great, 12% + 30mins duration for sage version and 15% for demon versionIf you happy wanna be, against the wind you won't have to pee.

If it was wizzies damage... think about it.
Buff a level one BM and watch him 1hit level 20 mobs..Koiz - omfg my life is now complete

i tryed on my bm and it work till on my wizz dont work, idk hopw u tryed and idk that too why dont see resist when buff a barb or bm because i see them how they resist.
its buff for melee like sin got buff to melee too....
and yes its 30% eq dmg and not base if u try with fist wr (the reason fist got the lowest difference between min-max dmg and more visible if u got + 50-100 dmg/hit[number just example]).0 -
I did some final experiments and actually i was wrong.
It seems from recent trials that it:
Adds 30% of the TARGET'S (not wizard's one, but the buffed target's one) WEAPON (not gear, not base, not global, only weapon) PHYSICAL DAMAGE (not magical) in form of additional water damage. The extra damage is shown already summed with the normal damage on the TARGET'S screen.
Try it by yourself and with your friends, this should be the correct formula. If you happy wanna be, against the wind you won't have to pee.

Ahem, crazy question here: If it adds damage but the wizzie can read "resist" does that mean we may be able to ninja some contribution from fist BM's in the nein events? :P0

I doubt it, you can see other people resist as well (i.e. archer with fire buff attacking fire immune boss/mob)Youtube Channel: youtube.com/user/D2VeT/videos?flow=grid&view=0

i think ring and maybe if have pattack from ornaments then that count too. (in most of case its pretty low but with fist the ring give nice dmg compared weapon dmg).
about resist. i dont resist with normal atatck on fb89 fire immune boss with lv11 ea fire buff but see the demon ea resist so idk about its work everytime or no.0 -
In PvE territory wars there are physical immune bosses. Wizards would cast frostblade on all the melee classes so they could deal damage to them. The damage they did was very small, but they were able to hurt it.0

same in fb99 and in few event have p.immune boss. bm got fist ulti, barb wood buff and a water buff +help y its low but whatever example the fist bm dont do huge dmg with normal attack there the point is the fast attack0 -
Borsuc - Raging Tide wrote: »Thanks a lot for that, it is what I suspected from all the rumors. b:thanks
Sorry that isnt all true: after like a hundred hits with a fist bm, i calculated the media over all the hits and i found out that it:
Adds 30% of the TARGET'S (not wizard's one, but the buffed target's one) GEAR (not weapon, not base, not global, only weapon+equip) PHYSICAL ATTACK (not magical) in form of additional water damage. The extra damage is shown already summed with the normal damage on the TARGET'S screen.
The change in the description is GEAR physical attack instead of WEAPON physical attack.
Sorry again for the mistakeIf you happy wanna be, against the wind you won't have to pee.

The skill works same way as barb skill poison fang.
It works in every way, just damage added is not that much, but no matter how small dmg is dmg.Buff a bm or archer at fire boss and compare numbers.0 -

Since this game's "weapon damage" (like in skills) actually means, total gear damage, then I assumed this worked the same way (which it did).
i.e Triple Spark adds 700% weapon damage on magic attacks... which is of course, "gear" damage. No reason frostblade should work differently.0 -
Well rings add some m-att too b:surrender0

ye but i gave it to an archer and he said there was a dmg difference but on the other hand i gave it to a barb whos dmg didnt change. Arent the barbs normal attacks phys dmg melee dmg too or is this just a skill bug?0 -

The physical attack range of axes and hammers (barb weapons) is too wide to let you notice a so small difference, while on the other side some archers weapons got a quite small range of physical attack, wich makes you notice better the difference.
Example:
BARB got 500-1500 physical attack, dmg added is around 30% of 1000 = 300
ARCHER got 900-1100 physical attack, dmg added is around 30% of 1000 = 300
when barb attack he deal damage like 3000-8000
when archer attack he deal damage like 5000-6000
u understand? noticing a difference of 300 damage is much easier if u deal a smaller range of damage, while its harder on wider range. If you happy wanna be, against the wind you won't have to pee.

this is why the best try with fist/claw users0

Is the damage increaes negated versus water mobs?0
-
next time i do phys-immune-boss in fb99 i ask the barb not to use the poison buff and screenshot lvl10 frostblade buff pure damage >.>
or someone else do it, i cant play much these days :Pi like potato0 -
Xiral - Harshlands wrote: »Is the damage increaes negated versus water mobs?
The added water damage is reduced by the target's water resistance, just as like every normal skill works: if the target got enough water resistance to have 50% reduction to water damage, then the added water damage is halfed. In other terms, water mobs get less damage, fire mobs get more damage.
Example:
Buffed target usually deals a media of 5000 dmg per hit.
His weapon got a media of 800 physical attack.
His rings + other equip got 200 physical attack.
So, GEAR PHYSICAL ATTACK = 800+200 = 1000
30% of 1000 is 1000/100*30 = 300
RESULT: he deals, with normal auto-attack hits, 5000+300 = 5300 dmg instead of 3000.
The 5300 damage dealt is: 5000 physical damage + 300 water magical damage.
This mean that the correspondent enemy's resistances affect the damage in the way they should:
If our buffed target is killing someone (on the same level) who got enough resistances to have 50% reduction to physical damage and 30% reduction to water damage, he will deal:
TOTAL DAMAGE = [5000 - (5000*50/100)] + [300 - (300*30/100)] = [5000 - 2500] + [300 - 90] = 2500 + 210 = 2710 dmgIf you happy wanna be, against the wind you won't have to pee.

But this would mean that the skill is PVE purpose only because the additional dmg given might be completely compensated by the enemies elemental resistances. So the real question wheather or not to skill frostblade is answered if there are enough fire mobs in the high lvls + mobs in higher lvls dont have resistances against elemental dmg.

Perhaps someone could test frostblade on physical damage immune bosses.
Or, perhaps in a duel, using expel?0
