Hey everyone i'm new to the pwi forums and I hope I can fit in here. I am here to show you my epic assassin build on my character Rated_PG. He is my first and only assassin, and i have had no problems with him. He is good with PVE, and he dominates PVP, I can beat "some" sins at lvl 45-50, and i have as much dex as some too with a lesser pure build. My build is based on everything at the base level it can be and my dex maximized. Also i have my hotkey bars set up for my combos etc. and swithes to bow . I hope you guys can respect a true pure build.

For the love of god, stat some strength. This character will have no end game, why? Because -int comes from armor, which you can't wear. The chillum is sometimes referred to as a chalice, based on a quote from the Biblical book of Deuteronomy. Thanks and praises are offered to Jah before smoking the chillum.0

You are going to need armor. Without it you will suck PVP/PVE wise. It doesn't matter if you are hitting as hard as a guy a few levels above you when everything can 1 shot you.
*and when I say you'll need some armour, I mean stat str*[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Honestly, you will get owned at later levels. You always have to think ahead. You may be killing everything in sight currently, but i doubt that you will survive later on. Please add some str to wear the armor needed. You're going to regret not going pure dex, because at level 30, when you get your rank 1 armor, you will buy it and realise that you cant wear it.
My sin has been doing pure dex (1 str, 4 dex) the whole way. It is easy and efficient. Currently I am level 60, and I only have problems when I spam aoe for fun. b:victory. (Im trying to get the hang of aoe without having to use a potion and second wind each time, maybe i should only take on 2-3 mobs, instead of 6)0 -
"I hope you guys can respect a true pure build."
your picture itself tells us you have no idea on the class your playing.
its MANDATORY for strength, otherwise your just a little baby gettin owned all the time
the reason you kill some 45-50s is because they most likely suck
but when you emphasized some, it means oyu die in 2-3 hits most likely, if not being crited on
-smh0 -
lol... add some str plz.... in all the builds u must have a minimun of str = ur lvl (29) + 4...
put 5str points in the next 4 lvls and 3str points and 2 dex in the 5th lvl (34) then, use 4dex and 1 str every lvl (pure build)....
b:byeb:victory
i hope u understand that ....b:thanks*stealth*...

The rich pure dex sage DPH sin build >_> (has full buffs, non-sparked)

26 base str x.x
mmmm... not the build I would pick but slightly better then what people probably think.
p.s. I don't know if rank 8 actually has 0 str req since im not rank 8 Q_Q or if it is just a database error. Yea there are a lot of better helmets but I was trying to make an overly pure dex assassin build for fun to post here.
p.p.s rank 6 daggers ?0 -

Wow... The next time you decide you want to attempt to verbally "bash" someone I strongly suggest you consider taking some grammar lessons beforehand hun. b:chuckle
Oh, and I believe there is something wrong with your vision as well. b:surprised Poor thing...
Assassins do not require much, if any, strength to be successful. You should really do some research before you try to "inform" a person of something about which, you obviously know nothing.
Assassins are meant to swiftly deal a decent amount of damage. The aim is to get in there, get the job done, and quickly move on. Assassins are not meant to have an abundance of strength. Enough strength to use a bow, IF you even decide you'd like to use a bow for strategic or luring purposes, is all you might need to consider. If your skills are good enough and your tactics are thoroughly thought out, strength is of little to no importance. With a considerable amount of dexterity it's rare that one would even get hit by a physical attack anyhow, so adding points to strength doesn't make much sense.

Rank 8 Armor only have a level requirement, it has no stat requirements, but still... your la you NEED strength to wear your armor
EDIT: At the poster above me you kinda fail in that reasoning, w/o decent armor what are you? and the way evasion works sucks anyway.... so having lots of it means nothing, oh and there is this magic thing called MAGIC that never misses just thought you might want to know0 -

Sorry, but yes Str is required for all classes as we need armor. Let's assume you keep going at this pace. at 50, you will start doing BH39, including Farren. Now, Farren would hit me hard at that level, and even with some Vit in there, I still got over half my HP down just from his AoE and gear that had the most resistance I could at the level. Farren will more than likely just 1 shot you from AoE alone, Rank and Wyvern definitely will, and you will just be murdered by more bosses as you progress further up. Once you start doing PvP at near end game, every class that hits you will kill you. You think Barbs are difficult for Assassins now? They will still murder you, and your damage will not be as much as you think.
Your damage with Crescent Thorn Daggers will be 1105-1571.
Pure Dex build (1 Str 4 Dex every level) will be 1029-1462.
You will be doing about 100 damage more, and that is before resistance. I'm open to a lot of builds, and even some of those experimental ones like the axe Cleric. But your build will fail out, and you will not do well at all. On top of all of this, at 60, you will have 1599 HP before any gear, and all you can add in stones is 6 citrines. Ornaments and robes will not give much HP with their extra stats, and you will have extremely low resistance.
Sorry, but you won't be successful with this build. If you think you will, come to Archosaur server, get up to my level, and we will see how well you do. Better yet, go up against a Wizard in 7x when you are the same level. My guess is he will 1 shot you.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

this. extreme dex build sucks. i'm not one to stat vit, i go pure dex, but extreme dex is just too weak and dies too quickly. i've fought extreme dex sins. they did exactly the same damage to me that i did to them except they had no hp to back them up.I hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of title, the character of an honest man. -George Washington0 -
This is the kind a built that has yet 1 purpose DDing its gonna bite you when soloing since your defense sucks, its not gonna work in instances because you will steal agro from barbs even easier so you must cap your damage result same DD as normal pure dex build sin
Its like extreme vit build barbs who stat for enough str and dex for up to date armor but neglect any wep this stil has a purpose though if they are sage they can be cata pullers in TW
But your build wont work you will get hit to hard in both pve and pvp and will have to cap your damage in team pve even more then a normal full dex sin must
team pvp= you get 1 shotted end of the story0 -

>_< Why is it that everyone who tries to verbally bash has such horrible grammar? It's somewhat saddening.
Anyway... my reasoning makes perfect sense. My question for you is, have you ever even tried to make a completely pure build such as this one? Without having done so, there is no way that you could possibly know anything about such a build.
Also, have YOU ever heard of something called Second Wind? Or how about Tree of Protection? Deaden Nerve? Blood Paint? Or better yet, Life Powder? They work wonders.
Apparently you're just as ignorant as ritsuya, if not more so. b:spit Magic DOES miss from time to time. In fact, channels can be interrupted multiple times. If another player's main attacks are magic based, Assassins just so happen to have a few skills that are quite useful... such as: stun, bleed, stealth, and a teleportation skill. If, let's say, a Wizard decides to duel an Assassin of this completely pure build, and the Wizard is somehow able to run away to try and attack from afar, all the Assassin would have to do is either equip his bow (as I mentioned earlier) or use stealth, teleportation, then stun.0 -

Deaden Nerves will save you once and at level 10 has about a 3 minute cooldown. Second Wind and Tree of Protection have 60 second cooldowns, and considering you have minimal Vit, even with Life Powder your regeneration rate is 12.5/second in battle mode. Blood Paint at 60 will give you about 25/hit on mobs, and much less on other players.
By the way, magic doesn't miss. When a skill is interrupted (as can happen with melee skills as well), that is not missing. If you are talking about Focused Mind, a miss counts as 0 damage, where Focused Mind dodges for 1 damage regardless of melee or magic. Now yes, an Assassin who gets the first attack on squishy classes will more than likely win. You still have the problem of a Blademaster and Barb, or worse yet a magic class who gets the first attack on you. At least full Dex builds can survive a few magic attacks, but you will just get murdered. Don't forget, they too have stuns and sleep skills.
And if you even think about equipping a bow against magic classes, I'm sorry to be such an **** about this, but you are a complete idiot. Assassins have so many movement skills that ever using a bow in PvP except on melee classes who are stunned/frozen is a ridiculous idea. You do far better DPS with daggers and can do better DPA just based on skills.
Now here is where you will find it even worse. Another Assassin with higher stealth and awareness than you, and you plan to fight them without even using armor? You plan to just bash away at a Barb who has tons of health and can easily kill you even with armor? You plan to fight Blademasters who can stunlock you far better and can do higher DPS at your level with fists?
I've already shown you your damage is not nearly enough to make a big dent. At 60, you will be doing the same damage I did at 68, which doesn't say very much as I am a hybrid build. However, I have more equipment to add more stats to help me out than you will. Sorry, it might be a fun experiment, but it will never add up to make enough of a difference to excuse armor. If Kun Kun could attack back, I'd have my money on him.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Forums are meant to be informal and helpful... There is no need for clearly intentional bashings, rudeness, or even cockiness... might as well keep rude/cocky comments to yourself. There is nothing to be gained from them. Trying to make someone feel like an uninformed idiot on a forum is pointless and does not help anyone. Why not just try to give some actual decent and useful advice in a respectful manner and put negativity aside?
If you haven't noticed, the only comments I've responded to have been the disrespectful ones because all the other comments have been somewhat decent. And the only response I have to the disrespectful comments are negative, but informal retorts. -_-'
I'm Rated's girlfriend and at the moment he has no internet access and I'm going to stick up for him and his build when I feel it's necessary. I don't enjoy having to conjure up witty retorts (although I must admit, sticking up for my baby does give me sense of satisfaction) and I dislike having to explain my reasoning over and over.
To let you and everyone else know, Rated's intention with posting this was to gain some useful input and for people to express their personal opinions on this type of build. He was not trying to come off as "high and mighty" he was just stating a few facts about the build and what he's accomplished with it so far. So, there is no reason for anyone to respond so negatively. Rated isn't stupid. And he has thought ahead.
I read these responses to him over the phone and this one, in particular, caught his attention. He has asked me to ask you ACLucius, to go onto the Raging Tide server and to create a character of the same level or higher that can "one hit" his Assassin. b:thanks He will gladly duel you when his internet is up and running.
And actually, Rated kills Barbarians quite easily in duels even at this level. I've seen it. And most people don't do BH39 alone lol. If he squaded with a Venomancer, possibly a Barbarian, and a Cleric he would be all set. b:victory0 -

only deaden nerves would save you in an extreme dex build. and only once every 3 minutes. after that 1 hit you die to anything that sneezes at you.
the ONLY time extreme dex will work is at 100 with full rank 8 gear. rank 8 gear has no str requirement so you can wear it and be fine. this is the ONLY time it will work. being 9x wearing 4x/5x gear will not do **** for youI hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of title, the character of an honest man. -George Washington0 -

hey there rated_PG =] first off, i'd like to commend you on your attempt to create your own completely personalized build of extreme pure dex. its very daring i should say ^_^.
sadly though, accompanied by all of my ingame/endgame experience in pvp/pve (along with many other's experiences), the build you posted will, in factuality, fall and fail.
why? for many reasons, but i will post the obvious ones here to help you out:
1. no strength = no new daggers... no progressing damage... completely halts pwi's character progression... the character is done.
2. you obviously won't be able to wear higher lvl armor, which allows you to use higher lvl shards to make up for our already very low hp. (that being said.... many, and i mean MANY if not all, situations in future will cause you to die.
theeee mooooost important goal of perfect world that majority of players try to attain later in the game are the lvl 10x instances, as well as the ALL MIGHTY GROUP PVP. you can have 1,000,000,000 damage output (seriously) but in group pvp, or "defending faction honor" per say, you will fall. and you will fall haaaard. in 10x instances like HH2-3 and HH3-3, bosses have AOEs, and with yur build.... low lvl armor + low lvl shards = one shot by the aoes. you probrably won't even survive pole/gaur in fb69 sad to say.
if you're not trying to reach endgame content... you're probably one of those people who will quit later, cause lets face it, all the fun content is later on with your factions at lvl 100+.
3. PWI's character progression is GREATLY influenced by the item build they choose. (thats why catshoppers are very envied) lets weigh the balance:
85-95 extra dex will give you a about 4-5% more crit chance + a bit of damage that is small ...and STAYS SMALL. why? that 85-95 dex's damage increase is not amplified by your new weapons.... since you can't wear the new weapons. ...its over.
so if you think about it here: what you're trading hp/defense for is, in fact, disolved into itself. so what you get is an extremely malnourished character with no damage potential that is really very easy to take out when you once out of stealth. ...jeeze.
4. i noticed you tried to defend yur build also by stating skill combos. commendable, but it still won't work, bro...
why? skills have casting times and cooldowns. yup, ouch. its the truth. teleoprting? stealthing? attack skills? even though we're assassins, they still take time to unleash. and with your build.. once you come outta stealth you'll die before you can get a 2nd hit, or even genie heal, or even restealth because once you unstealth, their entire team becomes AWARE of you, and you'll get blown away.
5. ok, so we're already greatly gimped out from armor/weapons/shards not being available. even if you still want to continue with this build, the only way to reach it's FULL potential is if you have a very very fast computer, and live right next to their server database for maximum latency. lol rofl, sad to say, this game has registry issues alot of the time. i myself have experienced that many a time.
~end thoughts~
there really isn't much more to say or add, so like i stated at the beginning, it was very very brave of you to try this, but unfortunately, the statistics and progression are viewable here and also by using ecatomb's database. everything about this build just won't work later on, if not now. i know you had good intentions =] but us assassins are here to help eachother, and thats why we comment to yur threads and forums.
none the less, good luck and have fun playing the assassin dude. ^_^ *...stealths*"Stay cool, be respectful, know your limits, and accept it when you've lost....
...then maybe i'll stick around a bit longer. b:victory" -Anonymous

theeee mooooost important goal of perfect world that majority of players try to attain later in the game are the lvl 10x instances, as well as the ALL MIGHTY GROUP PVP. you can have 1,000,000,000 damage output (seriously) but in group pvp, or "defending faction honor" per say, you will fall. and you will fall haaaard. in 10x instances like HH2-3 and HH3-3, bosses have AOEs, and with yur build.... low lvl armor + low lvl shards = one shot by the aoes. you probrably won't even survive pole/gaur in fb69 sad to say.
if you're not trying to reach endgame content... you're probably one of those people who will quit later, cause lets face it, all the fun content is later on with your factions at lvl 100+.
3. PWI's character progression is GREATLY influenced by the item build they choose. (thats why catshoppers are very envied) lets weigh the balance:
85-95 extra dex will give you a about 4-5% more crit chance + a bit of damage that is small ...and STAYS SMALL. why? that 85-95 dex's damage increase is not amplified by your new weapons.... since you can't wear the new weapons. ...its over.
so if you think about it here: what you're trading hp/defense for is, in fact, disolved into itself. so what you get is an extremely malnourished character with no damage potential that is really very easy to take out when you once out of stealth. ...jeeze.
4. i noticed you tried to defend yur build also by stating skill combos. commendable, but it still won't work, bro...
why? skills have casting times and cooldowns. yup, ouch. its the truth. teleoprting? stealthing? attack skills? even though we're assassins, they still take time to unleash. and with your build.. once you come outta stealth you'll die before you can get a 2nd hit, or even genie heal, or even restealth.
5. ok, so we're already greatly gimped out from armor/weapons/shards not being available. even if you still want to continue with this build, the only way to reach it's FULL potential is if you have a very very fast computer, and live right next to their server database for maximum latency. lol rofl, sad to say, this game has registry issues alot of the time. i myself have experienced that many a time.
^_^ *...stealths*
First off I, Rated_G, Rated_PG's girlfriend was the one who left those comments lol. But, I'm on the phone with Rated right now and he would like me to say this in response to your comment:
Rated_PG: I raise my strength attribute to be able to equip the best weapons available for my level. So, therefore what you said about not having new weapons does not pertain to me. My intention all along was to raise my strength for my newest weapons, but any strength after that, I feel, is un-necessary.
A level 29 (4dex-1str pure build) will have 126 dexterity and I, without my armor, will have 140 dexterity and the same exact weapon as them and technically the armor I have equipped right now gives me an additional 12 dexterity therefore, any additional strength they have is useless against me. So, even if they get the first hit on me, I still overall, do more damage than them. I have better accuracy, evasion, etc. I also have the skills to overcome obstacles in many given situations. I'm very creative with the way I fight, especially since I have new skills. For example, I could stealth and jump into a tree and use my bow to deal damage from afar virtually unseen, and when they figure out where I am, I would shadow jump down and stun them. Many people don't take the time to get away from ellusive obstacles to recover their HP. Even though my current armor doesn't have very much defense, there are still armors to get along the way and if I feel they are useful or give an extreme dexterity bonus, I'll be more than happy to raise my strength to use it.
Most 4-1 pure builds don't use the armor rewarded by the NPC's at the Nightfire Altar, rather, they use armors that increase their defense and even though they have higher defense, and are using the same weapons as me, the dexterity bonus the Nightfire armor gives me, in comparison, all of their extra strength and defense from their armor will go to ****.
Assassins are meant to get in and deal massive damage without getting hit. Even with a 4-1, extra strength and defense, bonus I can last longer against less accurate classes. Whenever I reach a higher level, I will have received more stuns and paralyzing skills to do the job I'm meant to do. Even though other classes have stuns and sleeps, nothing beats out a good PKer that can deal massive damage. Even though I will be more squishy than a 4-1 build, my damage and my skill for PVP more than makes up for it. I also, have my genie set up for many different types of fights. Against higher defense classes, I would use my Tangling Mire skill because at this level it reduces their defense by 34% giving me the upper hand to deal more damage because it makes them somewhat squishy. And I have free reign to use the tactic of my choice and high damage skills against them. I would input my Second Wind if I needed it and I'm smart enough to use my stealth if needed as well. Also, I'd use my stealth for creative fighting. At level 59, a defense lowering skill called Headhunt is available and that skill combined with Tangling Mire, the opponents supposed high defense is now screwed.
Out of all of the Assassins who posted to "help" me out, you are the only one who even gave semi-constructive input, but without the knowledge of how I was building my Assassin, it seemed to me like you were under the wrong impression, but I've actually been upping my strength to be able to use the same weapons as the people at my level and not wasting it to use armor, that isn't exactly mandatory for Assassins. Therefore, I will deal a considerably larger amount of damage in comparison.
Thank you for your help, your input was appreciated and thought upon, but as I see it even looking ahead, sacraficing a little bit of defense to deal out a substancially greater amount of damage whilst having greater evasion and accuracy, along with a good head for PVP/PVE, I can win out in most situations.
P.S.
While dealing higher damage I will gain back more HP while using Blood Paint, which beats any crappy added on defense and low health gain from it (it was said that Blood Paint was like our own little healing potion). I'd rather dodge attacks than fully endure them. And I'd also rather have higher accuracy because that way I'll know that I have landed a life-saving K.O. hit. The actual description of the Assassin class says that we bascially thrive off of critical hits and having wasted attribute points on strength for armor, you aren't technically hitting as many criticals as you could be. Assassins are meant to hit, but not get hit. We're meant to assassinate, come out of nowhere deal destructive death blows, and vanish as quickly as we appeared.
By the way, just so everyone knows, I'm not an idiot. I have thoroughly thought this through. t(^-^ t) b:victory0 -

to rated_PG: extreme dex will look nice. it may work for grinding too, and in pvp it will work with creative use (stunlock) of skills vs your opponent in a 1v1 situation. the problem comes from when you get jumped and stunned or when attacked by 2 or more people.
as a pure build you can at least take a couple hits before dieing, giving you time to either A: recover from that initial strike or B: kill one target and move to the other. if you continue to like it at high levels, power to you, but from what i've seen people who go extreme dex die too quickly. i'll agree it will be amazing when you get the jump on targets though and the build will work better for a sin than it will for an archer due to stealth. just a note: you're accuracy is a good reason for having such high dex, but the difference in evasion on mobs is only going to be about 1%, maybe 2% on some mobs.I hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of title, the character of an honest man. -George Washington0 -
*sigh* heres a few questions if you dont mind:
1. do you plan on staying lvl 29?
2. do you have any other char past lvl 8x?
3. what do you plan to do endgame?
4. do you plan on going sage or demon?
5. Will you be committing yourself to any factions? lots of pvp goes on with tons of people.
6. are you at all interested in Territory Wars?
im sure theres more questions, not asking them to verbally harm or ridicule you, but more to maybe help you see where we all come from so you can save time from all of this. lol.
a lot of us have very verrry clear knowledge of the assassin's progression statistically, as well as with item progression. so many of us, like trawne, myself, and a few others can really generally see how well or how poor an assassin will do mid to late level ranges in the different given situations (fbs, bhs, hhs, etc.).

its easy to believe you'll do soooooo much damage from reading all this hype on how well assassins dish out damage. but if you went extreme pure dex, it really isn't very much. just a few more % crit and some damage, but thats about it. stunned once, and yur dead.

Actually, the way I worded it in no way shape or form, implied anything about his soloing Farren. I CLEARLY said that most people DO NOT solo BH39. In fact, I even mentioned how if he squaded a few other classes he would be all set. How was I implying that he soloed Farren? lol I wasn't...
I also clearly explained, in a previous post, that the only people I talk down to are the ones who attempt to verbally bash my boyfriend and who decide they want to talk down to me. For example, YOU. I am usually a nice person, but if I feel that you are trying to insult me or someone I care about, I can get pretty vicious.

I said that I talk down to people who seemed to try and insult my boyfriend OR MYSELF. Which you tried to insult ME. We will skip to level 90 if you don't mind.
At level 90, you will be able to use Dream Breaker daggers. They require 49 Str, so we can assume that is what your Str will be. A full Dex will have 94 Str, so you will have put 45 more Dex in than (s)he has. That means you will have 270 more evasion/accuracy (which with the way this game works, is not very much and is more than covered simply by 2 amber stones.
Lets move on to damage.I'm guessing you are thinking Dex actually has a value of how much damage it does alone, when in fact it does not. This is why unarmed does such little damage, because most of that damage is in fact based on the player's level. The way damage works is by multiplying the attack multiple ([1+(Str/Dex)/150] for physical attacks, and [1+Mag/100] for magic attacks, added to character leve, any buffs affecting attack, and any mastery) by the weapon damage, which basically is the total attack of all gears. The only advantage you have over full Dex here is that at 90, you would have 45 more Dex, which doesn't have that much effect over damage in such small amounts. This additionally means Bloodpaint will do little to nothing more to keep your HP up than mine.
Any evasion advantage is lost by just two G12 amber stones, and any attack damage can be negated by garnet stones, as 6 of them will give 1.1k more resistance. Remember though, you have 8 armor slots for shards, they will have 24, so they can easily negate your damage and have equal evasion. Just as well, they can add 1 amber to make up for the accuracy as well. You will have little to no advantage except in critical rate. They however will have not only more stones they can socket to make up for any advantages you have, as well as refine to get more HP and socket to get more HP. On top of all of this, they will have far higher resistance and more armor boni to give themselves a far larger advantage over you. Mind you, this is just the Assassin. Now take in that all classes can do this, you have quite a problem.
The only advantage you will have at all will be critical hit rate. Besides that, you will be beaten in all other aspects simply because you can't wear all the gear other people can.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Didn't get the rest of it, but apparently I am the "destroyer of sin haters" as well.0 -
