    I use a Crystalline Magmite. I've considered getting the Glacial but I don't have the time to level a pet atm, even in cube. :/

    How about none of the above. There are plenty of pets that are just or more effective then these slow moving things.

    When it comes to tanking bosses none other pets compare to magmite and walker. Possible the beetle coud do good tanking boses but I'm thinking it is just as slow and would be harder to level up. Also, regarding beetle, you can just get an armored bear at lvl 80, and get a cooler simular pet.

    Thinging outside the box won't change the pet stat numbers. If you want to tank bosses you level a Magmite or a Glacial Walker.

    It's Cube of Fate room 3 = Lv '?' mobs, that die in one hit. It's called Mice bashing

    Magmites are worthless, and Marksmans can tank more bosses sooner. World bosses sooner with Marksman than a Herc even.

    That's just nonsense. And you are probably the only fool playing PW that want to take 6 to hours and kill a world boss. If that claim is even true.

    I'll take you at your word that marksman can tank some magical bosses. I'll even say having a Marksman in your arsenal is a good idea. But to say magmite is worthless just shows, you think you know things you don't, to all who read. Since we obviously see you will make wild nonsense statements, one might tend to not believe anything you say.

    I keeping this thread alive just for Tamuz can enjoy some more interesting reading

    I have officially "won the game"... Actually, I decided it was time to leave.
    Joined sometime in March of 2009 - right after Dreamweaver opening.

    Personal attacks don't explain how a Magmite can outperform any other pet at anything.

    Even if it took me 6 hours to kill a World Boss, I've easily gotten over 6m in drops per time which equates to >1m per hour which is better than most people grind at lvl 95. It's also a lot more coin per hr than I got for helping factions on WB's. It also requires very little effort (was able to do other things at the time).

    Maybe quit being jealous over a non cash shop pet?

    If you have a herc then the golem is petty much useless. Mine isn't even in my pet bag any more.

    If not then there's a huge number of things its best at.

    BH59 is not one of them, though.

    i really shouldnt even dignify you with a reply... but i'll bite

    personally, i dont give a flying **** about what you think, what you choose to use as a pet, or anything else related to you. so dont get that twisted

    what i do however care about, is that your blanket ignorance and oh-so-elitist attitude could end up **** over some poor nub's playing experience, because they for whatever reason see your idiotic posts and thinks that the pets you boast about are actually worth a damn

    herc > glacial walker > crystiline magmite > everything else
    pheonix > sawfly > everything else

    that is solid fact, and you CANNOT deny FACT. end of story.

    sure, your little ugly and annoying marksman might be able to tank more bosses sooner, but it doesnt negate the other facts that you fail to mention
    1) it cant hold aggro worth ****
    2) it will take hours to kill any boss
    3) the thing is ugly, and makes hellishly annoying noises constantly

    i've also tested the marksman against quingzi, which is the boss everyone seems to enjoy using as an example... my crystilline magmite could tank it sooner than the marksman.... and i had a second veno helping to heal the marksman... so yea, sorry, but i have a hard time believing the marksman is so strong

    Hands down the Walker is the superior tank to Magmites.

    The Walker at 75 has:
    HP: 2666 PhysAtk: 2356
    PhysRes: 7272 MagRes: 5333
    Accur: 1126 Evade:834
    Atk/sec: 0.60 Speed 6.1

    The 75 Volcanic Magmite has:
    HP: 2443 PhysAtk: 2353
    PhysRes: 7282 MagRes: 4855
    Accur: 1127 Evade:835
    Atk/sec: 0.60 Speed 6.1

    So roughly almost 500 more Mag Resist and over 200 more Lifepoints.
    Everything else roughly identical.
    The other notable difference is it comes with Roar which is a RESET on agro.
    Watch out for all the new venos with Roar on their pets causing wipes because they dont realize they are resetting agro (Doh!).

    It should be noted that this can be awesome combined with a good Bash (purchased) because if you get anything on YOU - click Roar then Bash and your pet will GRAB agro off you every time in 2 seconds! Nice. Before someone tells me the Crystal magmite is better than volcanic - yes I know but at level 20 I couldnt afford the extra 200K to add Bash to a crytal so got a couple of Volcanics as backup pets Huph and Puph for if Ruph ever dies. Works very well IMO.

    This is semi on-topic. The only reason i prefer magmites over walkers is that for some reason when walker do their big blue circle (idk what else to call it) attack, it crashes my graphics card unless i have my effects completely off. >.<

    I'm just curious, am I the only one that this happens to. And why this one mob?

    Had the same thought about decomposition. Unlike genies though, pets tamed don't start at lvl 1, so if pets caught at lvl 50 could be decomposed to exp... Not that I know if it's remotely possible, and not sure how that works.

    Now that the Glacial Walker is out, I don't know what to do with my veno's magmite either.

    By the way, is Shaodu Cub worth getting, or is it overrated?

    Don't bother buying new skills and it is very expensive to buy reflect best buy SoF for a Herc and use the edit button.It would cost you way more to buy new skills then to save up for a Herc.

    There would be no comparison as Herc is far superior to both.It is very hard to tell as the old mag as shown itself vs x,y and z mob.

    I'm sticking with my Crystilline Magmite ... I got him when he was just a little guy and I buy him new skills. His name is Bubba. And this is not a troll reply, I just like him because frankly I'm kind of sad seeing all the other Magmites go to the wayside for the Walkers.
    I had a Walker and I got tired of trying to level it and it losing aggro all the time. He was cute the way he took his face off and wiped it off, but Bubba is my tank of choice.

    I'm sure its stats aren't as good as the Walker, but I used my cub as a tank until lvl 90 and he did fine, even against some bosses (after getting him Bash). Tried a mag but it was too big and annoyed me. Got an armored bear at 80 because at lvl 90 their stats are better than cub, but then ended up with a herc so now armored bear is just my backup tank. :)

    i have three golems-crystaline, shioko and torgrim- plus the glacial im raising, and use them all in big dungeons like the Trench. golems are great, and so will be the glacial when he is high enough level. i just wish they werent so freaking BIG!! why cant the tough guys be as small as the little bear, but still have strength enough to handle the bad boys we need to fight.b:sad i hate getting blocked by chunks of rock ^_^.

    Much prefer Glacial to Magmite.
    Better stats later on..plus Glacial gets better original skills which include an attack skill, aggro grab skill and dmg reduc. skill.

    I'm sure you are all going to stick with your magmites and glacials, but if you're looking for something easier to see over that's still relatively tough, I find the overclocked mechrab to be a fairly powerful low-profile melee pet. And I love the steampunk-ness of it, but that's just aesthetics! b:victory And please don't mock my noobness. b:surrender
