This is ridiculous. The user's name and signature are not the issue of the post. the user did not discuss religion in any way. Their name and signature do not influence the post. Some of you have gone done the path of a religion based debate on your own accord. It comes across as attacking the rights of the individual.

Would it have been fair if the user made a comment about the signature of user Saitada? The name encompasses -Saitada:from the Tyne Valley, a Celtic goddess whose name may mean "goddess of grief/mourning."- Celtic belief.

The name of any user can be found offensive, and this one also alludes to religion. This is an example of what was done. The example shows that the responses of some were unnecessary and uncalled for. The name and signature of the individual do not violate the terms of service. There was no soliciting or advertising of religion.

    Just googled them. To funny.

Also, I want to point THIS out to everyone. Recognize anything? Seems mighty similar to this topic don't you think?

You beat me to it, Sai, as I was just going to point out that the Op had posted this same QQ under a different thread name "GMs you have a HUGE problem", and I recognized it immediately.
Sounds to me like you, Born, have a real problem with the Tideborn. You might want to ask yourself why. Or is it just an excuse for you to come into the Forums and whine some more about made-up problems? Seriously, dude (or dudette), what's with the on-going attack against the Tideborns? Find something more useful to do.....

The example shows that the responses of some were unnecessary and uncalled for. The name and signature of the individual do not violate the terms of service. Actually, my character name is the POSSIBLE name of a POSSIBLE Celtic diety based on ONE inscription found on ONE rock, in the Tyne valley. And while it may POSSIBLY have been religious, there is no proof that it was or is. There is just speculation that it was. I do however often post that the name is based on a mythological celtic goddess of grief. I don't however espouse a religious belief with it, nor do I espouse a religion based faction for it.

So while you can say my name alludes to religion, I challenge you to prove that there was EVER a religion based on this characters name. When you come back with exactly what I have already stated, that it is a SPECULATION by scientists that it is/was a possible goddess name, based again on one rock, with an inscription of DEAE SAIIADAE CVRIA TEX TOVERDORVM V*S*L*M, (not Saitada btw) feel free to eat crow. *SAIIADAE could be interpreted as: Satiada, Saitada, Sattada or even Saiitada.*

The OP name however DOES allude to an actual known and active present day religion (not a POSSIBLE mythological religion), and her signature is overtly blatant about it.

As for any Harassment, sorry, but I am not harassing the OP. I am pointing out their signature is a violation of the TOS. I have also stated that their name BORDERS on it. If you think my pointing out a TOS violation is Harassment... feel free to submit a ticket on me for violating the TOS ( lol ) Also... Be sure to get your facts straight next time. Because you messed up on a few of them here.

Now on to the subject of the 'rights of the individual'. Technically, they have no rights on these forums except the rights the company chooses to give them (and which they can revoke at any time they want). They don't even have 'freedom of speech' rights, so there is THAT lame argument out the window. Care to try again?

    Nuff said?

    Yeah I thought so.

What i would like to ask the OP is what he means by Tideborn being a "dark" race? He seems to have made it a point that they don't belong thematically with the rest of the game, which i myself would find strange since Chinese mythos has as many mentions of mermaids and other sea dwellers as can be found in western tradition. If memory doesn't fail me they play a role in some legends regarding the eastern seas and the Peach of Immortality.

Yes, mermaids are usually portrayed as dark or evil in ancient lore, as are werefox which the OP seems to find nothing wrong with playing. Now, and i do want to make this clear, i'm not questioning his religious views nor how they impact his playstyle (i'm not even addressing the KS thing). I don't mean to discuss religion at all, athough i will say i do expect any player to be tolerant in this regard.

This game is based upon Taoist spirituality and it's world view upon Chinese lore. Questions or comments about wether some elements belong in the game are IMO legitimate, but need to work out of such basis. Obviously someone who would consider eastern religious views or folklore as pagan, has no bussiness playing the game in the first place as the required spirit culti content would be offensive to them.

So, and i am curious, how is it that Tideborn may be considered dark or as not belonging?

Isn't venomancer or werefox on other pw version is not evil ? Since they like to trick and using male human ?

And something like barbarian is a magical creature like those mentioned at journey to the west, the monkey king sun wukong, the pig zhu bajie, sha wujing ? b:chuckle Isn't many other creature that not their ally were evil ?

    The Obituary of Common Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six year old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by three stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

Only post that is worth reading in this thread el oh el.

    to OP:

I can't imagine KSing going on at higher levels, everyone i've met are usually ever so courteous and at higher levels there are simply too many grind spots to ever have conflicts with KSing. I'm going to assume you are talking about lower levels and if not, then feel free to correct me. I am from Sanct too, and I can say I just don't see KS as a problem.

It's true that if you were to KS, the Tideborn classes are very suited for it. high spike damage, low channel times, probably better than archers.

Going with the same argument, we don't see as much KS from other classes because well, the other classes aren't as awesome at KSing at low levels. i mean, barb/bm/veno pet running at mob hurr hurr, cleric/wiz/veno channeling, not going to happen.

The thing you need to realize is, in most cases they're not trying to be asses. They just want to get their quest done. Since their channel times are fast, they can't stop their spells in time, nor do they want to. With the tab key it has become even easier to just kill things without looking. The lowbie quest areas are very crowded, and my alts spammed the escape button until i got tired of it and just killed the damn mob.

I just try to squad up. A simple "want to squad for ___ mob?" will most often get you an invite and suddenly their high spike damage and low channel time is working in your favor. Conflicts like this are most often solved by proper communication. If you keep silent or worse, try to judge the other player, it'll just get worse. no one wants to be reprimanded while they are enjoying the game, that pisses them off, and that is probably why you got the responses you did when you tried to bring up the TOS on them.

Ah, Sai. Once upon a time you used to make so much sense to me. You used to practice what you preached.

Now, it seems as though the forums have degenerated you into one of those posters.

I am not after Saitada either, even if he wishes the other forum posters dead in his sig.

I am watching large part of the community as general turning more hostile and it happened not long after Tideborn got released (it's just my honest objective observation, and experiance as a game community leader).

*stares at my charname and sig*

I see nothing other than my charname here and in sig my guildname + webadress to guild website (this guild has been in many MMOs with same religion rules as here, never been a violation of any TOS). Where is this religious promotion some see to find inbetween my sig lines? I and many other definit6ly don't see a TOS violation here nor in any of my previous actions in thios community.

Born_Again, you're saying that new players are playing a totally different game, one that, according to you, has changed for the worse.

    1. How has it changed for the worse?

    2. How is this linked to greater occurrences of "kill-stealing"?

Your post seems to make the claim that the alleged increase in "kill-stealing" has been caused by the addition of a "dark and overpowered" race--the Tideborn.

The idea that they are overpowered is entirely your opinion, and one that is not shared universally. I was wondering if you could please tell us how the introduction of the Tideborn has directly led to more "kill-stealing".

Also, another thing to keep in mind is this:

When a new server opens, everyone starts at square one, and there is a much more realistic opportunity to become one of the elite players of the server. This leads to a much more competitive attitude among players--they are all trying to level faster than the next guy. This would be, in my opinion, a very logical cause for "kill-stealing" to be more prevalent on this server than on the older, more established servers.

I will do my best to clarify if anything is unclear.

I do not know from personal experiance that the tieborns are overpowered, but after reading this in many posts after expansion release I see it viewed as overpowered universally. My use of overpower inthis matter is to explain why players on Raging Tide server behave more selfish and laugh more at TOS and game offisials expense. As a game community leader myself I dislike this very much (and have to live with that by my own choise).

The other thing i mentioned was the darkness of the expansion. This has more to do with presentation than the history of the race itself. I can particulary link this to anotyher MMO i have played that had a 'light' side and a 'dark' gloomy side. I have friends on both sides and the ppl playing on the 'dark' side are more agressive in connection with fellow gamers than those who play 'light' side. Even thou both side share almost identical gaming experience. I believe in real life both side of players are equally nice/bad, but the game design bring forth sides of gamers that otherwise would stay hidden more. This has been proven over and over and also confirmed by the people i have met. This is not only my own opinion on the matter. b:thanks

In Perfect World this shows clearly by how different Raging Tide is versus all the other servers (wich I play all of them). And its obvious when you combine my 2 points in my post together.

No, actually, you are only partially correct. Yes they have the right to display a signature, but NO they don't have the right to violate the TOS in their signature by displaying religious content.

    ~Saitada

Sorry, but I'm afraid you're wrong on this one.

Although I am *no* promoter of Organized Religion, the TOS outlaws *discussion* of religion, not simply *stating* their religious preference. If OP (Raging Control Freak, to be sure) had a paragraph long .sig telling us we were all going to hell for allowing teh ghey, *that* would count as "arguing about religion" and would be subject to the TOS. A one line, bumper-sticker "I Loves Teh Jeesus" .sig does not constitute a religious argument, and you know it.

You are just projecting the argument you would have with that person forward, and seeing that instead of the .sig. Arguing this with PWI will get you nowhere.

Frankly, allowing OP's name and .sig to distract us from his/her anal-retentive game concepts and dragging us into a religious discussion adds to his/her persecution complex, give them ammo (They hate me because I Love Jesus) and becomes... against the TOS.

Plenty of stupidity in OP that has nothing to do with name or .sig.

    Honestly.

PWI will *not* remove the new race. That would be business suicide.

PWI will *not* change *one server*, just because you and a few friends believe it should be done. Again, PWI only adopts 5% of the suggestions we make, not all of 'em (server battles, char transfer, tiger-form fashion, etc). Creating *multiple* threads on the same wish list and complaints is irritating, and mind-numbingly pointless.

    Repeated threads = fail

    ...

ingame's future: more sales, more QQ, and an expansion with the release of the CS Merchant race with the two classes Oracle Mage and PackMan

forum's future: an increased number of flame wars between those we have seen enough of, more thread hijacking by the same people, more duplicate fail threads, etc, QQ, etc...

Too bad the forums aren't taken care of as they used to be. Maybe it could get better. *gazes into a possible PWI future*

To ride a mount or summon a pet, you must use a summoning stone. Cost: 5 silver. Stowing away your mount or pet is free.

To get a quest from any npc, you need a Quest Token. Cost: between 1 silver and 1 gold, depending on quest level. Quests with multiple parts do not require additional tokens for the later parts, only the first part costs you.

Telecoustics are now required to send a message in ANY chat channel, including whispers. Reduced cost: 1 silver

To obtain a new skill or to upgrade one (regardless of level), you must have a Skill Token. Cost: (up to level 60) 50 silver, (level 61+) 1 gold

In short, just about EVERYTHING you do in PWI will cost money via CS items to actually do it. And to add insult to injury, even more bugs and glitches are added in the game which will never be fixed.

And to add insult to injury, even more bugs and glitches are added in the game which will never be fixed.

b:shockedi should look few a new game, i spend enough on this one...
Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze
