Is this game only for PROS?

cos im thick - im absoluty the most thickest so called gamer you will find in the world of gaming.

I was in party goin to an fb to add my help to the party and i auto routed to the main member who needed the quest. I went to the bathroom en-route and came back and the members were not shown on map but apparently i was gone completely the wrong way. They were well into the fb but i cudnt get there at all. They explained to me Gate of Delirium. Cudnt find it on map.

so i know im thick and im kinda hopin for non abuse by these uberly intelligent gamers here cos I feel stupid right now and I feel upset and I feel so embarassed that my party were in there nearly at boss and I still cudnt get there.

So im very bad with maps i admit it full hands down. But am I the only one or is this game for pro gamers as apposed to thicks like me?

Um embarred but any way you dev team cud make map more simplistic for thicks like me?

    It takes a little getting used to at first, but once you get the hang of where things are, it gets easier. By the time you get to higher levels, you go to these places enough that it just sticks where it is.

    im level 50 veno lol and i cudnt make it there at all. the faction im in wre so so nice to me but I felt so embarrased, I logged out. Dont know why i started this thread really. Its not PW's fault cos the game rocks so much. I just feel so stupid I cudnt make it there on my veno and go on gamers tell me how crappy I am and thanks to the positive replies I might get. I just want to learn how to play this game properly cos I like it a lot. Best atmospheric game I have come across but im just not bright enuf to like be in parties and get over to where they are. So advice I really really need. Thanks.

    Lol its not for just pros trust me.

    Before PWI I never played a game besides Facebook online b:chuckle I'm a jock and super bad with computers...

    So you can tell I started off pretty badly lol.

    Just find the right people in your server and they'll gladly help you learn b:cute

    Took me quite a ton of time and mistakes to get to where I am today rofl. And I'm still learning xD

    thank you but i bet you wudnt be lost at level 50. Well Im glad im in good faction. They are very nice to me and dont make fun of me - especially when i cudnt make it to the fb but I feel so embarrased. I wish my brain was better lol. I guess I need to like study the map properly. I dont wana go back to psychotic crappy f iesta. its VERY easy to grip but full of bad atmosphere. I love this game so much and Im just hopn I can get the hang of it soon. My boyfriend NEVER gets map lost in this game. I dont know how he does it... well he did when he was lower level but i still get lost at level 50 lol. Thats one of reasons i hate getn into parties cos i gota beg them to like be close to me on map LOL.

    I don't mind helping :)

    What I don't like is waiting 15 minutes in the dungeon and then being told player x is lost.

    Everyone learns at some point (assuming one keeps playing) and eventually you'll realize there's not that many locations to remember.

    the first time i had to lead an fb (i was the highest level, and no one else knew the way around), i didn't know the way around either.

    i looked up a map during the run, figured it out, and no one noticed that i didnt know where i was going prior to entering the instance.

    Adamante I hear ya. I dont like keeping ANYONE waiting but i was over 15 mins lost, and I expected to be kicked out of party. I wasnt but I can understand why ppl wud get annoyed waitin even close to 15 mins. Sigh but thats me for ya.

    So maybe im not the only 1? Quilie it was my bout 5th fb but my second Delerium one. But i guess i gota start doing the map mark thing more. I just realised that now.yayy, some bit of my pea brain is workn lol. But I thank you guys for sharing your experience of getting confused with map and you are so so nice to make me feel Im not the only one but honestly I need a LOT more work with the maps than you guys.

    Can I have your brains pleeeeeease.

    I still have to ask where things are at times. You're not alone.

    What I'd suggest you do is take a screen dump of the map, print it up, and mark any FB etc locations on it for reference (I know they are marked but they're not named). This way you can make notes etc as well if you need.

    And remember, you are not alone.

    Perfect World has so many nice people in it and the atmosphere and music is incredibly good. I LOVE the tideborn music. This is best online game I have played so well done to PW staff and everyone there. And I really thank the forums for giving me advice on my terrible mapness. I need to like just study the forums more and ask more ppl in game and I know next time if I ask my guildies to just wait for me a little they would, but you know I hope at a certain stage I will be like bang on and know exactly where Im going.

    Cos its embarassing when I feel I let them down like that because I do not expect ANYONE to wait more than like 15 mins for me and I deserve to be booted from party if that happens.

    Shayisha thank you so much for that - I will certainly do screen dump on map and mark the locations this time around. I just didnt think of that at all lol. I really really appreciate the kind advice I am getting here. Thank you so much.

    Gate of Delirium is in the Valley of Death. If you had asked the party where Gate of Delirium was, someone would probably been able to tell you about where to find it.

    Don't feel bad though, over time you will learn the locations of these things on the map, or 'about where' they are and be able to find them easier. Just give yourself some time to adjust to the game.

    I still forget where some of the caves are, and have to stop and think a minute before remembering their locations (it comes from being old.. we get forgetful now and again).

    Another thing to remember is a lot of people in this game assume people know things just because they do. It's not fair of them because they had to learn it at some time too.

    You can't know something until you know it. Don't beat yourself up about it because at times it won't be your fault but others for making assumptions.

    I absolutely hate going into a new instance where everyone else knows where they're going etc and get frustrated because I don't. But I also know that's not my problem. Yes I can find info on areas I'm going to but until you've actually run it once or twice it can be difficult to know exactly what you should be doing or where you should be going.

    Well i feel better now thanks to you guys so Im goin to go try get my psychic to 35 now. Thank you so much for your replies and being so understanding to the noobie gamer here lol.

    Its great that I feel I can approach the forums looking for advice from fantastic gamers who understand me and who can advice me. This thread is going under my favourites so I can refer to it for advice.

    A side note, I have a level 88 friend who still asks where nearly every FB is. She knows 69 and 79, and that's it.

    Lol well, I remember when I first joined PWI. My friends who'd introduced me to the game were very very very patient with me, since it was also the first MMO I'd ever played lol. Being someone who'd played primarily console and one player PC games, this MMO confused the **** out of me at first. I had to ask about nearly everything, including the map. And in your (and my defense lol) there could be a better guide to the game than there is. Hotkeys were not always clearly explained and I hadn't even known about the "M" keyboard shortcut til someone pointed it out to me lol. There's a lot that is left without explaination in the game so don't feel badly for not understanding things at first.

    After playing PWI for a year and 4 months? since October 2008, I can say I know it pretty well. But there are still things I don't know. :) And that's what friends and good people like those on the forums are here for, to help guide you. :)

    You'll figure out the map with time, just takes going there multiple times sometimes for it to stick out.

    OH YEAh i agree.. Maps inside dungeons should have more notations, it's pretty lazy just to put a bad drawing in there after making them such big anoying waste of space places.. Ridiculious..

    I get lost all the time, always in the fbs since they are so confusing. I have been in fb39 4-5 times but still if not following the other players I get lost and have to be escorted to the place where the other squad members are. This especially applies to secret passage don't know how many times I have been there but still gets lost and have to ask for directions. Since I'm shy I get nervous in squads and then get lost and more nervous O.o so I know the feeling. But I don't think anyone should be mean when someone gets lost, It can happen to anyone :D

    Yeah, it takes a while to get used to which FB is where.

    Given a name like "Delerium" you can click on all the little cave symbols on the map to see what they are called.

    Or you can, much more usefully, go to arch and us the illusion stone near the teleport lady to go directly into the FB.

    Yea, some dungeons are a terrible maze.

    You should see FB79, I doubt I'll ever be able to find my way there.
    But for the rest, after you/ve been there a couple of times, you'll be able to find your way without troubles. Same for on the normal map. Just takes some time (abit more for some thaqn for others b:thanks)

    Hey don't feel bad. With my veno at level 92 and my archer at level 78, I still get lost in dungeons too. b:chuckle. TT dungeons are a different matter altogether. You'll get sick and tired and have nightmares of TT when you start farming your TT70, 80 and 90 equips if you play long enough. Anyway this game's learning curve is fairly steep for an average gamer so keep at it.

    Was my understanding though that this is normal, and the abnormal ones are those who know everything about every piece of the game.

    Don't worry guys. Now it is much better than used to be. Till BH started I was in FB just once, when I needed for myself. Since BH started I'm pretty familiar with BH 69,79,89 but I'm still lost in 52,39,59. Because I did it when BH wasn't implemented yet. b:chuckle
