This basically sums it up. It was a Christmas event; why have something that is now 5 days in the past run until after New Years? That seems odd, much like Christmas in the summer.. Just wouldn't make sense.
    I lol'ed. :D
Should tell that to some Australians, hotter than hell over there at Christmas.
It's kinda sad though that it was taken out already, but there also seemed to be a lot of people who cried about the snow crashing their computers. Howver, rather than remove the snow they took out the whole thing; or perhaps they didn't plan to run it as long just because. They sadly, do seem to be steadily pushing us all toward the Botique... for like... everything. But fine. If that's how it's going to be, if I want to pay 60 USD for a marriage pack can I marry my female Assassin buddy and do the marriage quests? I'm bored.

just because we live in a RL that is totally commercial now, there are some of us who actually remember that the Christmas holidays begin on Christmas Eve, and continue until after New Years Day. im sorry for those who have not known a time that was not ruled by the almighty dollar and greed.

as for our family dissapointment, wouldnt your kids be sad if they had gotten to do something really fun one year, and, logically expect that it would be repeated the next year?

we also have a family traditon of opening only one present a day per person...when our oldest had his first Christmas, he was totally overwhelmed with more than one, and very upset when one present was taken, and he was given another to open. at the time, we didnt realise he was autistic, and this was typical reaction, but we have found that its a great way to stretch out the fun of Christmas, and the kids get to really play with each item.

as for PWI and holidays....consider how long they stretched out the oriental new year celebrations, which have nothing to do with the calendar used around the world, and celebrated only by relativly small groups of people in this country. that went on for much longer than the snowmen-PWI's only nod to Christmas, other than junk for sale.

    And the holidays are over.

and then theres some of us barely lucky to celebrate it one day, get one gift, and feel so appreciative of it. my chrismas gift consisted of this:

    Picture3.jpg

which my mother used what remaining money that shouldve went to gas or food (all we have is top ramen now :D) just so i could be happy for a holiday thats so gross and commercialized. consider yourself lucky you even got an acknowledgement of the holidays from the game, the fact youre overly offended by it is awfully ungrateful sounding to me.

Im sorry but, I hate how you say your thoughts. Most of them seem like you are seeking pity. Its just what I sense.

Quoted myself from earlier. You're making it such a big deal. Man I may sound cheesey, is Christmas not about spending time with the family? Talking, and just quality time together? This can all be done without the virtual world of PWI. You make it sound like its the end of the world or something like that. And, all this because you didnt get the long duration of wacking virtual snowmen?

Wheres that barb with that one line? "My father would beat me if he found out I was QQing over a virtual pony"
I was early taught to work as well as play,
    My life has been one long, happy holiday;
Full of work and full of play-
I dropped the worry on the way-
And God was good to me everyday.

and for some of us, online games are one of our few ways to interact with the world outside our house. we have so much snow outside our RL house, but i cant go out in it. i can ask my kids to bring in some, but its just messy. but the event of last year was so much fun, and something to look forward to. not much to look forward to when you live in the corner of your living room, with a computer and a fat lil dog cuddled under your arm.

no, i cant walk far due to a number of physical disabilites.im far from agoraphobic! i'm going nuts from being stuck in the house, and do anything i can to compensate for it. im trying to get a ramp set up so i can drive my scooter out of the house without the help of half the family, to be as independant as i can be.

this game is a way to interact with others, to try to make friends, and at least pretend to do some things i used to do in real life, and get to do things that are impossible to all of us, like ride eagles through the air, be a small red fox with magic powers who transforms into a beautiful lady, who has pets like panthers, little bears and all sorts of things.

after all, this *is* the aim of the game creators!

Sadly my dear kitty tank, the OP is ~NOT~ joking. If you had seen some of the othe threads created by them, you may be beating your skull against a blunt object (or vice~verse) as we speak.

As others have said, this "holiday" is supposed to be about family, love, caring, etc, etc... that is assuming that you share the belief in "Christmas". However it's become nothing more then another day sharing the fate of holidays such as Easter, Halloween, and Valentines day. Commercial days in which various merchants of assorted wares will soon milk people for everything they can all while telling them that the more you spend, the more you care.

I digress; the OP is sadly, horribly, and frighteningly serious. I recommend that you, as well as all others, run while you still have the chance to spare yourselves the pain of reading anymore of the self pitying QQ they so love post.

Oh, and Happy YULE to you Fox, since I don't share your CHRIST-MAS views. b:chuckle

Edit: Almost forgot the on-topic point.. i'm glad the snowmen are gone, they created lag and made it impossible to use trade channel in arch.
