Mages, not worth it

Lately i have been seeing no point in getting a high level wiz over a cleric or a veno. With the cleric they get an instant physical attack, heals and buffs whenever they want. venos get a worthwhile buff and thier own tank. wizards get a crud buff and...

There is nothing else i can think of that is better on a mage. Why play them

Can anyone think of an actual reason to play a wizard?

    mega awsome damage. they are the only class that can do alot of damage (becides archers, they do high crit damage. not the same) but if u want to reroll...i'd say a cleric, but if u dont want to heal, then a veno i guess (just another veno in the sea ^^ lol)

    Gush has more range =P

    and we are meant to dd... you aren't... are you going to level both your damage skills and your healing skills to the max as soon as you can? Or will you gimp heeling and go for damage just to be as good as a wiz?

    .... wizards were made for damage... clerics were not... true that they can be very good at dealing damage, but they don't have as many dd skills as wiz, and they don't have enough spirit to decently level up both their heals and their dd's.... so usually they have to make a choice between...

    And as a side-note, Gush and Cyclone hardly prove anything =P

    tell me one skill a cleric has that out damages Black ice dragon >_>. or one that out DDs Sandstorm or Glacial snare. plus wizards alot more attack spells. pls leav the Wiz forums NAO

    If you are a wiz and you hate it, you suck.

    Simple really. If you don't know how to play a wiz, you die.
    Not like a veno, where you just sent in your pet and hold the heal button, or a barb, where you just hit away until it's dead, or a cleric where you just use a couple of IH's and you can tank any mob dmg.
    When you make a single mistake with a wiz, you die (unles your charmed or use genie heal)

    A mage is a real challenge, keeps you on the edge.
    Also, a high lvl wiz **** everything. It starts to get fun at lvl 60 (atleast than the real fun begins, laughing at barbs who get hit for 1k when you get hit for 200 in the swamp. If you know how to play the whole wizzy life is fun)

    So, to wrap it up. If you don't like being a wiz, what the F are you even doing here?

    Wizard isnt an easy class and not anyone who wants to play it can handle it
    Wizard takes skill to play, smarts, as well as a know how of both mobs and players around you.

    We deal most damage end game (aside from a barbs armageddon). Speaking of end game, people who play wizard are all about end game.

    We are the most expensive class, I believe Amour has a thread stating how expensive in coin and spirit we are, but I cba to post a link here.

    Also, clerics will NEVER and I repeat NEVER, out dmg us or out dps/dph us.
    Can't handle your wizard, reroll a carebear class, veno b:bye

    Guess it all depends on the point of view by which you want to enjoy the game. I play a mage because I like the roll I have in TWs:

    Kannon (on vent): assist kannon, I have cata barb _______
    BM 1(on vent): Got ya, 5 seconds to HF
    other mage (on vent): ready
    BM 1(on vent): 3 seconds
    --stun team does their thing--
    --Mages start channeling/spark--
    BM (on vent): go!

    then in chat it looks like this:
    So and so (barb) takes 24080 damage (critgasm)
    So and so 1 takes 11883 damage
    so and so 2 takes 9959 <~(BM w/ magic marrow)
    so and so 3 takes 19825 damage <~(critgasm #2)
    so and so 4 takes 130 damage <~(barb 2 w/ invoke -..-)
    so and so 5 takes 12440 damage


    But hey, no one said you have to play a mage. BMs are cool too; barbs are fun (if you're more into PvE), you'll be able to farm TT gears faster. Archers are pretty badass when you get high refined bows later on.

    u compred 1 of our lowest dmg skills . try to look at black ice dragon. sand strom ,glacical snare w/e its name. phonix embrece and so on and so on . facts are wiz hit more then cleric now its up 2 u what class to play

    I play a Wizard for teh lulz.

    That, and the fact that I'm always a magic user in every MMO I play. I mean, yeah, there are plenty of nice classes, but...

    I don't want to heal or help anyone else, because nobody's more important than me. So Clerics are out.

    Venos are only females, and they should be in the kitchen instead of fighting monsters clearly stronger than them, and all they can do is send someone else to do their dirty work for them. See ya, Veno.

    Barbarians are just meatshields with absolutely no brain matter to speak of. Obvious no.

    Blademasters are just as mindless as the barbarians, except they think in terms of "KILL, KILL, KILL", instead of "DUH, OW, DUR".

    Archers...hell no, I ain't bein' no fruity Legolas wannabe.

    Thus, a Wizard is the best choice ever. EVAR.

    If you cant see a point to make a high level wizard, then dont make one?

    Seriously, if anyone has to explain to you why you should make a wizard over a cleric or a venomancer, its already obvious wizard is not your role no matter what we say. Just make one of the other 2 alternatives and move on

    me always choose the ranged magical type of class. because you can be more tactical. although me am okie with healing too.

    I just like to see 100ks pop up in my screen and ppl go "oh **** a wiz b:shocked lets gank its only way to survive b:surrender"

    And the fact that when I walk around with the other 2 80+ wizards in west archo I feels special b:pleased
