duke refining

so with orbs as expensive as they are, im looking for alternate ways to + my gear. I've heard a little more about refining at a place duke talks about. I've never really looked into it but was wondering if it even works. Assuming it does, im curious how high people refine with his advice, if they use other refine aids (tishua stones or w/e for example), how good the chance is for a success (i.e. i know you could probably get to +5 without refine aids if you were to burn a few thousand mirages.. but I was looking for a ballpark idea on how many mirages id be wasting to get to whatever +), or any other info anyone has about it. Thx in advance.

    you ever tried to use the search feature? lulz its 100% useless on these forums, I gave up on it when I searched for wizard 79 skills and went through an entire page of threads that were totally unrelated. (was a few months ago)

    Actually, no I don't. You're the first person that I've met who's dumb enough to do that.

    To OP: This has been discussed before. No one's really sure. There are some who say they've gotten to +5 using Duke's advice and others who claim that the Duke is a lying sack of ****.

    @alexeno: besides the fact that the search function is messy (i still use it anyway) dont u think that some1 with 700+ post knows what to do ?

    i was searching too the DUKE GUIDE into the crafting nook where it was once...after pages of research i manage to find it...

    BUT on the first post, where are the fact on duke were posted, now theres just "I HATE DUKE", probably due to a fail refinement...

    this means NO DUKE GUIDE...b:surrender
    so lets make another if some1 has some clue

    I used to have a map of the territory advisors to get +1-+8 that my friend from the CN version gave me (He refined all his gear like that). The catch is you gotta own the lands to make the success rate even obtainable. But if you do own the lands, spam duke untill he tells you which territory advisors give you +1-+8, map it out and bring lots of tishua stones :)

    I heard it actually works from a couple of people. But yea, you need to be in a faction that owns the land.

    Use teinkang stones, and you have to own the lands. And I know someone who +6-+8'd all his gear in my faction using this method really cheap (something like half the cost of D Orbs).

    You can search these forums on google. Just add site:pwi-forum.perfectworld.com to the query to limit it to these forums. Comes in handy if you're searching for 3-letter words (which the search here inexplicably prohibits) like 'pet' or 'orb'.

    Also, you can blacklist people on the forums. Just click on their avatar picture. Then click on User Lists (right next to Send Message) and select Add to Ignore List.
