JJJ event=coin drain?!

...how is the JJJ event going to "drain coin from the economy/stablise it/lower gold prices, when ....
-people sell the stuff they get at outragous prices? (saw the temporary outfits on sale beside JJ for 300k and more per item, and i bet it goes higher)?
-people buy tons of GSs off the cash shop to sell to other players?
i admit i am the pits when it comes to coping with money...i can spend it, but have to leave all RL money handling/budgeting to my husband. but i truly dont understand how this event is supposed to balance things, when all it does is a 'more of the same', putting more rare items out like the anni packs.
(...no, im not whining-i have no right to. i bought boxes from JJ with coin, and did very well: less than a million, i got a midnight horse, two weapons packs, candy and cake, and pills for my human alts to have fun with.)

Congratulations! By buying packs you helped wash x amount of coins out of the economy.
I don't know about the other servers, but on HT the angels with gold from AH cost over 130k each, so yah a lot of coins will be spent. Will it wash enough coins away? There's hope! as long as 30silver > 100kgold coins, more and more gold will be washed into oblivion; this could help gold drop under 300k.

Think of how many people are draining their purses with the 100k option, gold is so expensive, how the heck are you supposed to get GAs once all the cheap ones are gone? Eventually, if things work properly, GAs should increase in price to a point where its ok to use the 100k option more often too. Just because people are **** and think theyll get millions for a mount or flyer any dude could make a ton of off 100k tries doesnt mean it isnt draining coins.

They were bought during the GA sale before the 2nd anni pack release.0 -

But yes, this is a decent coin sink because of the cost of gold right now. Unless people start selling GAs for 99999 or less, it's cheaper to use the 100k option and flush some coin out of the game.0 -

Its a cash drain because the most people can sell a GA for is 99,999 (Because its a GA or 100k). Which works out to about 344,825 per gold. Its the beauty of JJ, having the coin alternative puts a fixed cap on cost. Which theoretically will bring down gold prices and keep items from the JJ event reasonable. Spending coin on JJ rather than gold will also purge coin from the game giving coin more value.0

100k is currently cheaper than the GA option, so yes, it will drain some coin out unless gold goes under 338100 in which case ga's will again become the cheaper method. The packs don't seem to have much that's all that great though, with a .5% combined chance for a mount/any flying mount, that's 20 mil on average for an item (with the items themselves able to be sold for a little bit to probably make it around 15 mil cost).0 -

buy ga's from cs..u will win...thats just the way it goes..and oh the GM's are really making profit now on anni packs by reducing the % to win somethingb:victorygood job gm's ..great tricks!
all i have to say is MORE EVENTS TO COME!! woot.
i spent a mill on the JJ event...got some stank candy..some stupid common shards,more candy.I think the most i enjoy outta this is the pills and the costumes are wayy better this year.

The shards are trash, and pretty low frequency - I wouldn't expect you to make a profit there.
Are people buying the candy or pills? I've seen the unopenable boxes on sale for around 600k, which seems to me to be both too expensive (their contents aint that great) and too cheap (I don't think you're getting one in six being a pack)

This is my thought as well. The DB rates seem to be off slightly as the odds add up to 101% but whatever. I'm coming up with an average pack value of 56700 coin for the halloween box and no clue on the other box but it's probably not much different.If you are lucky then yes. My in-game wife got like 2 beetles and a set of plume wings and she prob got less than 20 packs . She traded 1 beetle for midnight, which she trade for helm of holypunishment, which is like 30 mil atm O_o and will rise once the event's over.
She got lucky, just because the average says you're going to lose money on the packs doesn't mean everyone will if they buy a few, some people will come out ahead, most however won't.0 -
