Cube rooms 7 and 27

Like usual I went to the cube.

I was having a nice time till I reached room 27.

I put my volume on maximun to listen the noise like I always do.

My first time and NO noise. Nice I am going to see if in the middle the next mob doesnt make noise too. I only give a few steps towards the mob that didnt make any sound, and guess what... DEAD. I was wth.

I decied to try cube again and ended in room 7. This time I checked every mob, and was suprinsing cause none of the 5 mobs maked any sound. I decided to relog and still the mobs didnt maked any sound. I tryed to pass and dead again.

I never had trouble in those rooms before the patch.

    First listening room, it's always the two mobs on the far left side.

    The 2nd listening room, usually the 2nd two to the right, or the far right and the 2nd to the right, though it does select the other mobs from time to time.

    Like you said they sellect mobs time to time, with means isnt the same everyday.

    Hope your luck is on your side then... or if it isn't then run in randomly and hope you will die. I needed to get to room4, but was sent to room7 and as tele was on cooldown, I decided to do a suicide. Managed to die only at the 3rd atempt as all the time picked the safe mobs >.<

    Open your system settings inside the game menu, adjust the volume there to higher and hit apply.

    For room 7, talk to NPC on your side, then face the mobs. Just go all the way left till you hit the wall, and head across there.

    Room 27 has 3 seperate paths that I've encountered. Talk to NPC then face the mobs. The 2 main ones are either 2nd from left, or 2nd from right. Both allow a shot straight through.

    However, sometimes you will have the paths seem open, but when getting near the 2nd crab it will give noise. At this point back out, and check the other. If both paths have 2nd mob give noise, then you have to take a diagonal route.

    For diagonal, go to the far left, then try to get as close to 2nd mobs without having noise. Then head left until you start to get noise. At this point, you need a speed boost of some kind to go diagonal and reach it before one side or the other kills you. Clerics can't do it even without some speed up, I know from practice.

    The red part is wrong. Usually its the first one, but sometimes is the second one too (its rare but happens).

    And wth is that diagonal on room 27? I never heard of diagonal before... besides its impossible passing in diagonal cause you dont have much space.

    The diagonal path is not impossible. You have to walk to the path right in front of the diagonal mob. I just stopped doing it because it was so risky and hard to check.

    Venos have it easy, send their pet in to check.

    For BMs, just use speed skill. Venos also have movement buff, barbs do as well in tiger form. Wizzies have their blink skill, archers should be able to swing it with their speed boost. Clerics have the hardest time, they need holy path or lots of movement adds on gear.

    As I stated in previous post, you find the closest you can get to diagonal 2nd mob by finding the limits of noise. Get into that corner and run diagonal. Noise resets each time you leave and re-enter their radius, so don't bother trying to get the exact placement. Over-shoot into a new mobs noise, then head back into a past one. Keep narrowing it down until you've found the 1 zone it doesn't make noise. It's very easy once you figure it out, hard part for me was even finding out it even existed, or how to do it. Cleric only made it after many deaths experimenting, had to try diagonal on every other spot too.

    The diagonal in 27 is easy. I don't use speed buffs, I switch from run to walk. Listen to the first mob.... pass him just a little bit, and turn... see which one isn't making noise and walk there diagonally. I rarely die there.

    And I've never had anything but the two far left mobs in room 7... guess I've been lucky?

    Room 7 never rotates. I always take the far left path, but I think a different set works as well. I know that one time I was in there with someone else, and we both took different routes to the NPC, but I was over on the side and didn't check which path they took.

    The diagonal is easy to figure out: if the 2nd from right and 2nd from left are both "closed" (at the 1st or 2nd mob), then you have to take the diagonal. There are only 3 configurations for that room.

    iirc, here's what the diagonal configuration looks like:

    The mobs are closer together in their own row than they are to the mobs in the other row. That means you can't walk a 90 degree angle. You have to aim for a point in front of the "safe" mob, then walk straight through it. Kind of like this:

    Here's a crude picture I drew a while ago of how to do the diagonal. Green is the sound and red circle is death. I show that I test every mob to check for sound but really you only need to test the second and fourth mobs.

    Since you haven't mentioned if you even tried checking your system menu tab option as was suggested some threads ago, we have no idea what you're missing. Updating when you try something leads to success more than seemingly ignoring it.

    The update could have easily reset some settings, like how they ruin macros and change other settings quite frequently. If you're the only one facing this, it is either your settings in game are messed up, or something might be wrong with your sound card/computer's settings that are messing up with the new update. It's happened before on previous updates; the sound not working on the mobs thing.

    I could listen me walking, I have put the sound on MAX. The mobs didnt make any sound, none of the mobs make a single sound. I have spent a tele in my server and some peple had the same prob too.

    We are already aware of this issue and we'll try to have it fixed in a future maintenance. The reason why this is occurring is actually quite amusing, but I can't get into that.

    Props to the people who are putting up guides to go through the room without the help of sound.

    I'll guess that a mob in the new areas has the same file (sound or master) as the auto-killers in these rooms. Because the new content is disabled, we can't hear a mob that isn't actually new anymore.

    This seems more likely... Or they reused the mobs and now that they are underwater they don't want a sound that could be construed as raging fire sounding?

    Oh. I'll try to make mine more amusing.

    The same kills-you-if-noise mobs are what the assassins have as starter mobs since young assassins need to learn fast - move quietly or die. Instead, nobody ever plays the new class cause they must suck - always getting 1-shotted by starter mobs.

    Same. You can run normally as cleric and go your merry way as long as you know how to space yourself correctly.
    Sometimes i see pple do the diagnal way walking across inch by inch. I casually run past them >.>;;

    Most useless GM's advice ever. I suggest you put a GM in there to teleport people pass the mobs.

    yup the listen rooms are bugged. no sound whatsoever.
    I just got room27 4 times. No announcements, no fixes or anything. Thanks GMs.

    I am curious if there is any announcement going to be made or "compensation"/temporary pass, wherever.

    I know the Cube of Fate is a "do at your own risk" instance to begin with, but this room is VERY passable and not being able to hear the mobs makes it nearly impossible to pass. Well...without some luck on your side.

    I know many who do more then one runs a day (COF LEtter FTW...was very useful when I was actively in the cube)...I would hate to see so many people lose out on the rewards when this is a relatively easy puzzle to pass.

    I recommend everyone who fails room 27 because of this glitch to file a ticket.

    Getting 100k coins and 10 dice ticket seems like a fair compensation for every fail caused by this bug.

    Getting 100k coins and 10 dice ticket seems like a fair compensation for every fail caused by this bug.

    For the first as "bug hunter" I found a bug, unfortunaly I didnt reported it cause I was caugth by surprise. (first victim).
