A PVEing archer like Quilue said is probably the cheapest character to play right after venos. Mobs dying before they reach an archer is NOT a myth. I also lived on a Wind and Clouds sling +3 and was rarely hit. Things got even more rediculous when I got a well refined soulsmahser.

Pots? We don't need pots because we choose our grinding mobs to conveniently die before they hit us. Charms? If we don't get hit or use much mana draining skills, what are the charms for? JFYI, I was able to consistently keep a hp gold charm for atleast a month. One would only need a charm for instances when things go haywire, or if you're tanking/being aggressive in instances.

And yes, grinding should only consist of lowest lvl arrows.

White wings (starter ones) can be efficient when you have some spirit to spare. This is a good way to save coin while having the ability to fly faster than any other class with starter aerogear. So again, this in the long term is much cheaper than any other class.

re: self heals. I've started using spark to heal because an archer who finds the right mobs to grind = autoshot+kb (or frost if needed) and that equates to readily available spark which I spend on to kill faster while having a heal as a bonus.

PvP wise, we're expensive to remain competitive.

Then I guess you don't use barrage then as most use spirit charms for and like the 75%.The reason I won't buy a spirit charm.
Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.

Oh, forgot about the whole RB/zhen thing. Grinding is more profitable coin wise, so I do not consider either of those options. Perhaps I will for when I want to level fast in delta?

If you use barrage anywhere else, mp food is enough to cover for a lvl 10 barrage.

We still have it a lot easier in the coin department than 4 other classes.

hmmm wonder why people think wizzy's are expensive. so far i've spent maybe 20 coin on repair. kill before anything even touches me (kite ftw), and i've made quite a bit of coin from selling junk. Pots, don't use em yet, and the ones i have had to use i've gotten as drops. Charms, unless you count the lowbie quest charm that i still have full i don't use em. MP drain is high, but when i know i don't have enough to kill another mob i just go and meditate and stretch for a few then when i get back i'm more then full and go back at it. Btw this Wiz is mayb e a week old. i don't play as much as i'ld like to and yes i did have an archer .

Foregoing the gear issue, the mana drain is the reason behind it being more expensive than an archer. Sure, you can meditate to recoup the mana and kill less mobs every 15kills or so but for an archer, they just keep going and going and going...

I kind of view a wizard as an archer (simplicity's sake). But to kill, an archer uses ammunition and a wizard uses mana.

I won't comment about other classes in detail on how they grind and all since I don't have any other character except a wizard, but logic does tell me that melee classes and clerics have it the worst in the coin department.

would have to agree there. i've tried almost every class before i settled on my old faithful wizzy. the other classes for repairs made me just wanna throw my mouse around.

as for the 15 less mobs. hmm what's worse. killing 15 less mobs or spending 10K+ on pots. as for gear. heh. still using mostly **** quest gear and i kill quicker then archers my level.
