How should I build a good pvp Wizard?

    LA mages FTW(pre-90)
    Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
    Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
    Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
    So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

Barbs... are still hard as **** to kill (way too much HP :[ )and BM's my own lvl I haven't had any experience with since I made the switch. The reason I restated to be honest was because I hardly ever PK, I only do it when killed or at a failed attempt to kill me with a player of a reasonable lvl. I have had a 7x Cleric one shot me, I only have about 1.5k hp with my crappy gears and 3 vit. I just like being a glass cannon better than a plastic shotgun.

    ok cool. I want to go for more of a balanced build, not really dealing the most damage and not die a whole bunch either. Thanks for all the help I'll try this build and just have fun with it. In the long run this looks like the best way to go so far if everything works out

    buts its a long road
    and it means no PK until 90 :3

    I'm just posting my own experiences. I can't really predict my future lol. I just prefer this style of game play vs. the LA build I had before.

    I tried LA build with my Cleric.. I've made 3 of them but I didn't like it.. I think either having enough attack to kill something fast or having the hp to take damage is better

    LA clerics are definitely different than a LA wizard. You just have to think about the game style you prefer more. Pandora was very convincing with his guide which is why I made a mage in the first place. I just found pure mag was more suitable to how I played. Also with an LA build you can still wear robes which helps with grinding on mag mobs and kind of helps when you have to face other mag attackers (primarily other wizards since the other 2 caster builds have phys damage with pets or plume shot/razor feathers). I don't think LA is bad at all as long as you know how to use it and I'm pretty sure I wasn't one of those people.

    Clerics have Plume Shell but no Earth Barrier. Don't even bother comparing the two in pvp, they're completely different.

    You're a oneshot to LA wizards as well, except they need tempest. Other than that, who cares? I rather be oneshot by the rare wizard you run into at 7x/8x than one of the hundreds of archers/BMs/Barbs. Phoenix etc too.
    Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

    If you are scared of getting killed, just use heavy armor with -requirement.

    Stats aren't too far off yours, and whatever I have on my build is quite easy to obtain.

    actually i have most of the stuff for it
    socket stones
    all the immacs
    dragon orbs

    and im almost done farming the gear
    i got the hat and cape sharded now :3

    you need to add some vit to get around 4k HP btw

    actually the hardest thing to get is the TT90 gold rings

    who cares about level 40s? nobody cares about the fact that he stunned you first either, if the damage is higher than your max HP it's a oneshot, whether it's the first shot or 10th.

    I'm a full Robe, but still waiting for someone to pull out a critt higher than my HP.
    until now the biggest hit I've got was 2.5k crit from Pucker din DT , but there were so many on me I didn't see what skill he used ( he finally got me after chasing me for a while, and ganked me with a barb and archer to take me down b:chuckle ... that was a little overkill, but with good reason b:laugh). Well, after all, he's already in the 90s and I'm in the low 80s, no shame to get a 2.5k crit from a sage/demon BM, whatever he is.
    I did testrun on dmg with few of my guildies:
    Demon cleric hit me for 1.8k razor and 1.7k tempest (2 shots) after demon spark and mdef debuff. I was only self buffed. I would have been 1 shot if one of those would have critted. I needed 4 shots to bring him down, but I didn't use undine nor spark, wanted to se the worst case scenario. Nothing new there, clerics still are a pain in the bu!t. Double spark + Undine+(1.5 spark pot)tempest+SS was for 4.8k so he was a 2 shot also. Now waiting for the 3rd spark at 89 to be able to do that without pot.
    Demon Archer(89 or low 90s at the time) put me down in 2-3 shots with demon spark, don't remember the dmg exactly, 2 shots with 1 crit, 3 shots without crit. I took him down in one single Double Spark-Undine-SS, no crit.
    So, yeah, as u can see, I can 1 shot LA users, I can 2(sometimes 3) shot a BM if I can avoind a stunlock (not that hard, but takes practice and timing), Barbs aren't really a problem but with high lvl ones it's boring as hell to fight them ( I just don't like 3 minute hiero ****) , High lvl clerics can 1 shot me with their biggest dmg skills if they have a crit, Archers are pretty much even within a 5-7 lvl span.
    I'm sure a lvl 95+ archer will 1 shot me with a crit, but hey, at that lvl I don't even care right now. I will worry about how to stay alive agains a 90+ archer after I get my TT90 gear.
    So , yeah, a robe wizz can do some PvP even at 80s with some sort of success. The only issue I had was with clerics, and really, with their debuff, no matter what build u are they will still be bad a$$es to kill.

    That thought isn't bad, but keep in mind that once you reach certain levels, like 60, HH gear comes in and boosts damage. People get new skills or upgrade them, triple spark and ultimates come into play, and later on skills like undine for wizards and 89 skills/triple spark. An archer with Deadly Shot leveled will easily be able to oneshot you if he/she crits from long range.


    Unless your name is Ursa and you play on dreamweaver. Dreamweaver doesn't have 9x archers who'll crit you for 6k with take aim, doesn't have 8x archers which can easily crit for 4k, etc. BMs will never stunlock till they zerk crit because they're pve idiots and barbs don't know how perdition works.

    I've been kind enough to give examples and some numbers, and no, Dreamweaver doens't have so much 10x lvls that can crit you for 4-6k to find them every time u look around.

    lol, my gear never sucked, and whether I'm good at the game has little to do with game mechanics. Every single one of the thousand 8x and 9x archers on lost city can crit for 4-6k without having to spark.

    get lv99 and TT99 gold gear wiht nice refines

    I think he took me down once but damn he's a squishie when undined. Having a +10 bow doesn't help when you're constantly one/two shot on non crit gush+ SS while you're in seal/sleep.
