Now you are just being silly.... if you say phoenix is very strong, fine, we accept that.. if you complain fleshream is unfair, we can even buy that, but to say that a veno without a pet does more damage than a Cleric, Wizard or BM is so wrong.... Barbarian could possible have lower damage, but that one would depend alot on gear and build.
Quick note, pure magic barbarians, pure vita clerics using fists, and any of those "different" builds do not count as doing less damage than a veno without a pet...Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.0 -

Without a pet venos would be the WORST class in PW. And, venos have pets, deal with it.0

It looks like you never had a single coin, nor you tried to actually earn something by farming mats or something. Saying this game is based on cashshop is biased, I have yet to spend RL money so does many high lvl players.
And Barbs can be taken down, even archers can do that. Yea, its hard, but saying its unbalanced just shows that you didnt really try.

Wow he spent a whole 200 bucks. lol... tell him to add the monthly cost of other mmos that charge per month then he can *****. it's so easy to get the coins and i don't even play a veno. i might not be high lvl yet but so far i have spent $0 and have died... once when i landed by accident on top of a higher lvl fb. sounds like the guy was just looking for an excuse to whine and moan cause he probably got killed by one of his fb and didn't get it or h might have been on a pvp server and got ganked.
But on to the real topic of the thread. from what i've seen so far the balance is a lot better in PW then most other mmo's. I used to play L2 and when i can see a single spellcaster wipe out 3 parties cause of the unbalanced buffs yeah... moving on to a new game.Former L2 player. Hope this one is better with botters, got sick of one person running a full 9 man group.

You know your pets don't add tons of damage to your attacks - only Phoenixes, they're just pretty much bait so you don't get hit while fighting monsters[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] With a .25x multiplier = 423520 regular

So you still stand by what you said that wizards, clerics, bms do less damage than a veno without a pet? Are you sure you want to say out loud?
Higher damage pets add 20-30% dps to a veno's attacks on a mob (and we are not talking phoenix here, just regular pets). That is not tons, but it is quite alot.... On some mobs, the pet is 100% of the damage, since the veno will have to spam heal the pet....Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. According to Untamedchaos, you do less damage than a veno without a pet... Love this, lol. And agreed. Do I think FR needs to be fixed? Yeah. Does it actively disrupt my playing that it hasn't? No. I figure PvP is like throwing a dice, a lot of times. Either I'm more skilled or they are. Either I have the better gear or they do. Either I hit first or they did. Too many variables that allow me to beat a Veno with a Nix to complain about one severely overpowered skill. Yes, that ONE skill is overpowered, but who the hell cares?
As to the guy who copy and pasted the review from the mmo site...that guy was an idiot, feel free not to re-post his idiocy in place of your own opinion.0 -

According to Mizuoni and Witchburner, you can 1-hit barbs with crits, though it's easier as an LA mage since your dex. is higher. Furthermore, wizard skills have the highest damage. We are an end-game class, so before 80 we pretty much suck, but after that, we're great. Venoes are generally good all around and do not take as much time to reach their peak strength.[sigpic] [/sigpic]0 -
I just feel they're making it more and more easy and i kinda hate that.Overall i find it pretty balanced.

max damage I saw from an archer was 10k on a bm

If we both are empty of chi would never happen.
If we both have atleast 2 sparks it won't happen since while you cast the chann 0 skill(sorry i'm tired now and don't remember the name)+undine+whatever dmg skill you want OR spark+undine +skill I can used spirit and you don't even scratch my back.This only if you can hit that much dmg anyway on me of course.0 -
The fact of the matter is Venos only begin to get OP with the Herc/Nix. Remove those two and we are not much better than other classes if any. People say we grind the cheapest, BS. My friend is an archer and she can out grind me easily. She all but one shots everything she hits, never gets hit, never needs Pots EVER. She can kill faster, at greater range, and never needs any items to support her work. You will of course counter "But she needs arrows"...oh...big whoop...I spend more on pet food than she does on Arrows which drop by the quiver in the field as you kill things.
As for raw damage dealing...LOL...Ye-ah Venos are sooo OP...Maybe with the Nix but take it away and my Fist Master, any good Cleric, Wizard, or Archer can put Veno Damage WITH their pet to shame real fast. So no, they are not OP damage dealers either.
Can we solo things? Yes, that is the one thing we CAN do better than other classes. While any class can solo FB's once they are high enough level we can do it a bit sooner but doing so is a looong drawn out process. You have to have at least one other person with you to make a team to Tab anyway so who cares if we can solo an FB? It goes a LOT faster with a good team. As for outdoor bosses, yes, we can solo them but not right at the level we get them and even then it takes some time to get the job done. Give any other character enough time to work up their skills and tank and they can do it too especially with charms. I had a lvl 70 Tiger Barb take Gargantuakongking down with no healing or external buffs on besides my brambles and he did it like it was no big deal. I still cannot kill that thing by myself yet.
We do NEED our pet to add in the other half of our damage and honestly the other half of our Tank too. It is more important to us than our weapon in many cases and makes or breaks a Veno a bit.
If anything though Venos can be incredible team players and very helpful in FB's and other situations due to our versatility and there is nothing wrong with a versatile character.
So all this Veno is OP stuff is just BS unless you are coveting the Legendary Duo and wondering why no one else gets something similar. I do not understand that myself nor do I condone or protect those two pets in any fashion. They just may make us OP if we have them and there is no equivalent to them for any other class.0 -
@Hasukurobi-I haven't heard no pro player saying something similar about venos.And if they don't go atleast LA but HA is even better they get killed pretty fast.I can QQ about a nix veno in TW when i get 2 shotted by the nix with sacrifice on but that's just a thing that ends there nothing more.So don't let some n00b QQing get ya down.I always want a veno in my squad not because of the luring which i do pretty good(no i'm not a modest person because i'm not modest in any way)but because they help me as much as a cleric almost to tank bosses that are ahrd even for a barb 10 lvls higher then me.Thunb up for veno both as duo with the pet and for the essential role they have in my squads.0

note: veno = weakest endgame class, every build has a major flaw that gets the veno killed easily. arcane's is its pdef, the other two is its mdef, our skills dont do much damage, bleed can be gotten rid of with 3x spark, pots, genies, etc, and once the pet is dead, were kind of useless.

That is by far the most ignorant and unappropriate post I have ever seen a veno make in the 8 months I have played Perfect World.
Being 'overpowered' does not make you a successful gamer. I have seen so many senseless, ignorant venomancers out there who dont know a damn thing what to do with themselves or their class. They might as well be a rock in the way of everyone else.
Just because you paid your way down easy street doesnt mean you are skilled or overpowered. With a comment such as that, you have obviously already lost this game.

personally i took the advice of others and made one, i got it to lvl 50 and found out it was insanly cheap. So i went and made a barb and now i use my barb as my main. And seriously ppl one class really isnt better then the other class, they all have there strengths, weaknesses, and purposes.
