Is it really that good? Ok...ppl say its god at tanking/making money. But I just can't really imagine making $$$ faster than I am now (this isn't main char btw), unless herc kills much much faster.

And the meat-for-food thing, isn't it annoying? Where can I still get the xmas blessing then if i decide to get herc?

Herc is really nice. You don't have to heal him every two seconds while grinding like a golem.

But for bosses and dungeon runs...he can't do everything like people claim. If the boss has AOE of debuff you're most likely screwed till higher level. But by the time you get higher, other classes can solo it to. lol.

As for food, if you're on the new servers then be prepared to spend 200k+ a week or $2 to buy the Arcane book. Thats actually cheaper than buying meat all the time. You can get x-mas blessing on the older servers...I think that lasts forever.

For regular grinding it doesn't really do it all that much faster. Much less heals needed of course so that speeds things up of course, but not by a large margin. The money comes from soloing TT squad bosses and getting all the drops for yourself, or running with a minimum of people and getting a larger portion. The patient veno could also run most FB's for molds, though this is obviously a gamble as mold drop rates are low.

For the Christmas blessing... where can you get it nowdays? I never see it on auction or elsewhere, is it just that all venos who had it are holding onto it and no one is selling?b:cry

I dunno lol. Every person who has a char on the other servers says " Omfg EvERy VeNo HAs ChRisTMaZ BleSSinG11!!111 **** MeaT!1!". Noone ever said anything about em being hard to find tho.

Just another one of those half truths that get tossed around alot in this game.

So basically, a herc isn't all that great as everyone says?

Is the money making thing really a big difference than if I use other pets?

SInce I really don't want to WANT a herc...lol...i'm hoping that the money making won't be that big of a difference....

If you're just grinding, golem does just fine, while cheaper and lower maintenance. Herc lets you solo dungeons where you otherwise could not.

I think I'll stay with herc until otherwise...What I just don't get is why herc is said to make money a lot. To me, the phoenix would do just fine, too.

And for golem you have to heal a bit more...Dunno why herc is $$$ king

its money king because it can solo tt60 and tt70 which can get u mats for TT items not only that but like everyone said u can grind on mobs that are about 10 lvls higher then u makeing grinding faster. Phoenix is nice but you cant use pheonix inside dungens. like everyone said golems will do just fine for grinding

Kk thx...ooh I'm starting to imagine the load of money-saving labor ahead of me................

30,000 10 min. time periods if I can earn 1k/10 min..
    5000 hrs

    ouch.
    b:shocked

Lol I wonder if I'd feel more encouraged if I bought the force/feathers instead of storing the money for later.

Herc is good in tanking... A good herc can be better tanker than a Barb...
As at least its attack is stronger than a Barb (if both are of same level)

A Herc can tank 5-10 lvl higher mob with very little healing (1 to 1) at all. So imagine how well the defense is. But its not really that it will earn $, compare to phoenix... =)

Or you can just spend $200 on gold to get it, like some people do.b:laugh
So can a golem still solo TT?

Probably... if you bother to refresh the "Tough" skill every 30 seconds.b:chuckle

Agh, no $$$ to spend on herc. If I want it, I'll just have to save save save :"(

I sort of want the nix too. Mainly I want to level up fast and earn money. To do that, which pet would be better?

Herc is better. Phoenix is mostly for pvp. Flying pets can't be used in dungeons, and Phoenix don't tank as well.

Before you can afford Herc, use Golem and grind.

I dont know how every is handling their herc pass lvl 80.
cause herc is loose aggro for me already.
If i start with iron, i have to wait for a sec before casting another spell
else mob be on me pretty quick.
and i know why, cause herc physical attack isnt getting much improvement.
as i can see it, this will be more an issue as i lvl up more.

    Herc have bash 5 atm.

every lvl i advance my magic increase.
herc's physical attack increase by very little.
every pet skill bash, flash ren or other skill scale of physical attack.
if the pet physical attack is so poor, i cant see how herc going to be advantage later on.

its like heavy veno lvl 80 using lvl 40 weapon to tank..
you going to loose the aggro soon unless people stop attack for a while
and let you gain aggro again.

I have no problems with my herc keeping agro. I also set myself up so I won't have huge damage either. TT 80 sword +3 and 70 base vit. I could do much, much more damage if I wanted to.

Isn't the phoenix the pet to get for leveling fast? I sort of want to keep my golem instead of a herc and save money for either one of the legendaries when I can. I think the golem can do just fine, maybe even come close to the herc. Anyone think the golem is close to herc?

But not nearly as good, definitely. :)

Have you tried opening with Blazing Scarab, and then hitting with Ironwood? It's upfront damage is low with a DoT which should allow the herc to play catch up easier.

Usually people tends to get Phoenix, then get hercules...
Why? Cause Phoenix grinds super fast... =)

Getting Hercules first is more to when you solo TT or go alot of dungeons. Then perhaps getting Herc first is the choice...

Nix is mostly a solo legendary, while Herc can help many friends/guildies to get HH mats! I like the idea of having Herc a lot, bcs I can help solo bosses and doing HH70 squad mode is great!

Would it be faster to get the herc first then the phoenix or the phoenix, herc?

Herc first: TT drops/sell for money

Phoenix first: level up faster, kill faster, more drops/coins

I'd think probably herc first. If you're a typical full/near full int robe veno, your attack would be quite high to begin with, so any decent tank would do well for grinding. Higher attack power from pet won't make grinding that much faster if you're already killing fast. With herc, you have the option of running dungeons. Besides, if you want to make the most money and spend as little as possible, it's best to pace yourself to drain all mana at the moment your health/mana skill cooldown expires. Killing faster than that would mean using mana pots.

I will prefer to get nix first... As the grinding is faster than others... And from there, after you make enough $, you can get your herc for dungeons...

I have herc and I can hunt 104mobs with him. Herc can have like 4or5 beating on him with reflect on while I keep him healed. Throwing a damage spell or 2 every few heals. My herc and I are lvl 77 we were 76 when I started hunting these mobs. Good drops good money saving for my nix as I go.
