That was a hoot. Since then a lot more thinking has been done on roles -vs- attitude so something good has come of it.Mark 12:29-37

Did a run with my satellite internet, got a run screenied. Got 4 extra that are on the right side of the village close by, then did a straight run west hitting all the hot spots. Missed out on 2 from the veno with the herc farming, and 1 or 2 because too much doubling back because of the path they took while I lured. Ended up with 23 at once. Best part was wizard asking if he could join in when they are 2 shots for me. Yes, I'd like to lose 50% xp for no reason

you could but you just gotta watch your life. i can handle 10 before things start getting out of control. once they're rounded up, razor feather helps a lot with taking them out as a group instead of picking one off at a time.0 -

Umm I never did anything to your wife or soon to be ex-wife whatever we were good friends, She asked my faction members to help pay for your divorce, and Darry too and besides that one time she came on and went loony at me we werent friends anymore.
why?
She left HT claiming she hated seeing your name on her head.
She tried to get me to go on Dreamweaver but when I refused she lost it and out friendship ended.

The mob at the end isn't the hard part, at that point you have 5-6 IB going except when doing Tempest. That part is never too hard. The hard thing is the luring, as at that point you will only ever have 2, and pathing and lag are the big deciding factors here.
Had to wait a while, since the new internet needed a while to stabilize. Tried with only the 15 I had from the previous screenie, died badly during lure. Lag affects whether you even cast the spell, and if you hit it often you might double cast. Also there is taking back off. I can't time the flying animation to remove the acceleration time anymore. That adds more wasted time. So while I flew around with around 800 poison a tick this time, the usual when I was in the states at 75 was only around 300-400. I now understand the pain all the lagging people feel.
Also, this screeny was only with what I could grab on one pass in the area. Technically, it can be possible tograb 35-40 of them for a nice screen with a good connection and higher lvl, but it would take too long and some idiot would mess it up most likely. Best thing is to aim for roughly 20 at a time when you are 73-76. If you fall short on one, pick up 21 or 22 to make up for it. This way, you get to hit one man army quest over and over for extra rep. Make the most out of each run.
Cash is great, on the 2 runs I did I made 50k in DQs (32k or so) and a piece of armor. Xp was 181 per normal mob, with 23 being 4163 not counting double or other xp bonuses from the special ones. Takes maybe 3-4 mins for a large grab and kill. That's not bad xp at my current lvl, was even better before I out-lvled them so much.0 -
just curious. do the mobs lose interest after a while? I know i tried with lower lvl phys. mobs and they reset after about 10 seconds.0

Rejoined my old guild, and copied the guide I had on the guild website to post here. Never had the chance to try the dual cleric running, but it would be nice for cheap factor and xp. But with the amount of people who are now in the range of the mobs, not sure it can work like it would have with fewer at the 7X lvl range.
Just a basic overview of the skills and idea behind being able to solo AoE mobs for a faster, cheaper, and more rewarding grind.
To give an idea, I could fight Mothran Glitterwings (80), or do AoE against Orchid Petali (72). Comparing the two I gain about 30% more xp fighting the Petali, I get more drops from higher number of kills, and I get 2 rep every 40-50 I kill from the old man in Village of the Lost. Also, the entire AoE can be done without even needing a mana charm to get through it. AoE will be much better until you out lvl the orchids and start getting less xp.
To start with, for AoE solo, you want to find wood poison mobs to do this on. Their damage is all DoT, that can be purified away to reduce it back to 0. The whole premise exists around being able to survive through healing, purification, and a large enough health base to survive DoT before the next purify. These are the 3 factors that will determine how many mobs you can gather and kill in one run. These 3 are the main things to focus on.
Your main skills for this will be:
Ironheart max
Purify at least lvl 5
Razor Feathers max
Tempest As high as you can get it
Tempest is a finisher, and currently let's kill all but special mobs in 2 spells. When using it, it really needs experience to tell how to set it up, and when to cast.
The biggest thing to remember, and cost me many xp and guardian angels, is to always focus on ironheart and purify first. Don't try to get one more hit in before healing, you will die each time you get greedy if you have a large amount gathered before you.
Purify is at least lvl 5, to coincide with Razor Feather's recharge. In any time span, you should get off 2 ironhearts, 1 razor feather, 1 purify. It takes practice to get down when to switch the order around, as making sure Purify goes off before the DoT hits is the most important thing.
The first thing to do is pick an area with a large amount of the mob type you want, with few other mob types around. Orchid Petali is area around Village of the Lost. Malicious Cadevil (85) are around Thousand Streams area. Gonna try out another one soon, but those two are the ones I have done and can confirm as able to be AoE soloed.
Once you have them, make sure to have a set of wings that give as large a boost as possible. I use max Flight Mastery with basic wings for a nice 2.0 speed boost. You'll want to get within aggro range of each mob and fly to the next one. To maintain aggro on you, you cast Ironheart blessing about every 7 secs or so. Healing maintains aggro, so they will all continue to follow you. This also builds up your sparks and takes care of the dmg you take while gathering them up.
There is also a trick I have found that helps in taking as little dmg as possible. Usually out of a cast, you will have to accelerate to get back up to speed. If you hit forward before the spell finishes channeling, you can start flying afterwards at full speed without having to accelerate. It's a bit difficult to time, but it helps out tremendously in reducing DoT hits during the process.
Once you have enough of them, fly some more after your last heal cast, and then land. At this point you could either spam a few ironhearts before they get there, Purify if you've taken too many spell hits while luring, or try to control where the mobs will end up. If you just stand in one spot, they will end up scattered in a fan formation that will take a while to reform to proper AoE range. If you move, you can let the first few set in one place, and try to move in a way that the other mobs stop in that same place. The mobs run in a straight line until they hit their radar range. You want to constantly change their path by changing where that straight line will draw them. Again, it's one of those things you have to practice to make it work right.
Usually there will always be some tweaks to be done to positioning of the mobs. Find the group that you want to stay stationary, and circle them in a way to lengthen the distance between you and the mobs you want to move. Make sure to cast ironheart and purify during this process as well. At times cutting in a straight line may be needed if the mobs you move just keep circling as well. No set rule for this, it seems kinda random which way they choose.
Once positioned, you will do ironhearts with a purify. After the purify, cast Razor Feathers to start with. This is because of its faster cast time, which allows for more ironhearts to be cast with purify. If Tempest isn't very high lvl, 4 or more, or your base dmg isn't very high, use another Razor Feather to soften them up more. Finally when you have got them down enough, finish with a tempest after a purify. With enough ironhearts still going, just wait for the Purify to recharge to cast it again and clear all the DoT gained from the long cast spell.
The reason not to use Tempest first, is you fall behind by one on your ironhearts. And since you don't have that many going, even 1 behind is enough to kill you unless you spend a round doing 3 ironhearts between purifys. Best thing is to learn how many razor feathers you need before the tempest will kill them.
It is also possible to do this with just razor feather, but it will take 4-5 casts to finish them off. That means more mana spent on staying alive and killing them, which wastes some of the benefits of doing grinding this way. Also, Tempest opens up the way for an improved version, dual cleric AoE'ing.
This uses the exact same premise as the idea above, but adds a few more things that should make up for the half experience from grouping. The only way you can truly die, is by DoT stacking up during casts of your dmg and healign spells. This is a combo of your total health, and number of mobs you are killing at once. With solo, you have a lower limit than duo because you are responsible for all aspects. With 2, you can share those roles at the opportune times to speed up killing and make it safer as well.
Essentially 1 cleric will head off to gather up all the mobs they want. (For reference, lvl 73 cleric with 1600 health could safely take 13 orchid petali at a time. lvl 73 cleric with 2100 health could safely take 19 at a time.) With two you only need to be able to safely take the DoT while moving with your ironhearts. Should be able to gather up 25+ if there are enough in the area.
The only downside is, you have to make the route lead back to the other cleric if you want to keep it as cheap as possible. If money isn't a worry, the other cleric can follow you and set the place for where you should stop.
When they gather up, make use of ironheart and purify as needed. Haven't tested yet, but the other cleric casting purify shouldn't draw aggro as long as the tanking cleric continues to use heals. This doubles the number of purifies possible, which ordinarily means it should double the number of mobs able to be tanked.
Once the mobs are situated, the other cleric should aim for roughly the same target as the tanking cleric. The tanking cleric will begin casting a high lvl tempest, while the other cleric casts a purify about midway through. After casting purify, they then cast max Razor Feathers so that the spells hit and kill in a very short span. Tanking cleric should cast purify right after tempest if dealing with a large amount of mobs. They then switch roles and prep for the next run.
If doing the cheap way, the cleric doing the next lure run should have had time to meditate up and gain spark. Best way to get spark is by casting lvl 1 Wellspring, as that doesn't need to be lvled up. Don't need max spark, as they will be casting ironheart on the next run. The only spells they should have to cast, would be a purify or two, and razor feathers. In this way, no charms or even potions are needed to do the AoE, and there is no downtime while meditating as the other cleric is setting up for the next run. That is how you actually gain from grouping. You get more runs done for no cost, and are able to kill more at a time.0 -

the time i really use razor feathers is when helping with a fb19 or 29, especially after a BM friend of mine gathers a chitton of the mob by runnin around n starts AOE'in them (which he loves doin lol)
i'll throw in a razor feather or two to help out with the aoe killin (for this example i'll say in elf fb19). he's had 30+ mob on him at one time. my razor feather is at lv1 (i'm lv28). i can spend just 103.5MP and do a little over 1100 damage to 30 mob at one time with one skill. and as others mentioned it dosent use spark or chi, so i think its a great skill... especially when u have a friend that loves gathering a TON of mob and workin 'em with their aoe skills.
and i say its a great skill for situations like that, but if u just got it and want to try it out, dont try it out on 3 or 4 mobs your level at the same time lol (that got me either killed or very close to it). but its all in how u use it (just like thunderball that most ppl seem to not like so much)i'm pro all classes, and against none in particular..
but the age old QQ about venos is just that. OLD.
QQ'd about a nix lately? check out this thread n tell me who's "OP" lol..
