Evasion Needs to EVADE Magic Too!

Topic. From what I've come to understand both in game and on the forums evasion is just for physical attacks. Well if you can evade a sword, spear, or any physical object you can sure as hell evade a green flying ball.
My two gold.

i dont think so. magic takes a much longer time to channel than attacks, u miss a physical attack, u can attack again within a second, u miss a magic attack and its fatal.

Actually in other mmo's int would raise your magic defense, and to dodge magic attacks you need a stat called "luck" which isnt implimented here.

Some games do have a mechanic where spells do have a chance to actually miss. Like in DnD, you have to roll to hit with some targeted spells, at which point it becomes painfully obvious that the fire mage really can't hit the broad side of a barn, but he can miss and burn the party cleric to death instead.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Why do you need to evade magic in the first place? (assuming we talk about regular mobs here) You're BM for cryin out loud - stun 'em and slash 'em!0 -
Magic can be interupted, Melee attacks cannot.
If Magic could miss, then they'd have to remove the ability to interupt it to rebalance it.
That or allow melee attacks to be interupted (however that would work).0 -
It's not even about the balance of the game. It's the concept of a magic attack missing. From what I know, most games have it so magic never misses simply because you can't evade magic.0

Oh I don't know about that. My friend has a level 45 wizard and likes to brag about how he never even takes a hit when he grinds. They seem fine as they are.Main characters

Well lets just say this... magic hits harder then melee. Yes it takes longer to deliever but the damage compensates for it.
We need to beable to evade magic. Even if the points we put in dex don't add up to the same evade level of melee combat.

Care to specify from who you want to evade so bad?
with LV10 Roar you freeze everybody but bosses on their place for 6 seconds. plenty of time to fire your strongest shot whether it will be spark, double spark, combo of fast-channeling skills or whatever else you got. After 6 seconds are up you can always hit Aeolian Blade for some more stun
And it usually is enough if you have it upgraded as far as your current level allows.
Summary: BM can fight effectively with magic/physical mobs, full magic mobs, and magic class players IF they use FULLY all the skills that are given to us for preventing or countering magic attacks. No need to go and neuter the magicians.0 -

Why dont you go play as a mage and try dueling any BM or barb same level or even a few below and see how good you do.
All the bm's will do is stun you then proceed to interupt your spell. leaving you completely defenseless.

Yes, it does take longer to cast and yes, it does pack more of a punch. Well, I am a BM and I too say that no, thier magic doesn't need to miss. The whole point of magic is, well, that it's magic.....it's not some projectile flying through the air with the hopes that it will hit it's target. Magic is attuned to it's target and as such "magically" moves as it's target moves thereby eliminating any chance of a miss.0 -

and plz dnt ask for stupid crits and stuff for u magic hitters..u magic hitters already hitting like our CRIT hit and also u have chance to get a critical on that magic attack.
this game is already imbalanced with Veno's overpowered and this other buff already favouring magic hitters.0 -

I used to play a game where spells had a small percentage chance to miss on ANYTHING (mobs AND other players), and for a long time it wasn't possible to overcome that last 1% chance to miss (it was called spell hit rating), and it sucked when you were going after mobs that were higher level than you and your spells constantly missed because those mobs could tear a mage a new one if enough spells missed. There was this one quest I decided to tackle with named mobs that were +4 my mages level. Yeah, she died twice trying to finish it because half my spells MISSED.
So, go play a mage in a game where your spells can actually miss, and then come back here and say that you should be able to dodge spells.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I played an mmo before where you could dodge magic (and arrows) if you had quick reflexes. There were basically 2 kinds of attack spells, one to hit a moving target (spell went where they would be if they continued same speed, same direction); and one for a stationary target (spell hit where they were standing when you cast).
It was a lot of fun, and made mage vs mage pvp great. If you were good at it you could keep dodging spells for quite a while.
However, automatic evasion like you're talking about for PW would just **** over caster classes.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I'll just assume english isn't your first language and leave it at that.
Archers hit plenty hard. Yes magic hits for around your crit damage, but you get a whole lot more attacks in than a caster. Also, magic does have a chance to crit, but most mages don't ahve anywhere near the crit % that an archer does(at level 80 an archer could break 15% pretty easy, 20% with gear whereas a mage would be about half that)
Anyways, this post was from a BM. Learn how to use your skills and mages will barely be able to get a spell off to hit you. Between all the stuns you get, unless something misses me I usually don't cast more than 2-3 spells against a good warrior.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Since we're on the topic of allowing magic to miss, we need to have something to balance out the other classes to they aren't so overpowered after this.
Archers: Given a dex cap of 100 and are no longer allowed to use projectile weapons when an opponent is more than 5 meters away.
Cleric: Heal is now based on p.atk but they are no longer allowed to use weapons and have a strength cap of 17. In addition, all heals and buffs also have a chance to miss.
Venomancer: Pet loyalty now determines whether or not the pet will listen to you or try to bite your head off. As loyalty and pet level increase, the pet will start finding smarter ways to kill your veno. Also, venos are no longer allowed to wear amours and any veno that does not waste at least 200k every 15 minutes will be automatically killed and will lose al items in inventory, storage, and their mailbox.
Barbarian: Barb HP is now capped at 1000 and they must wear robes. They are also no longer allowed to use any physical attacks.
Blademasters: All stuns can now be countered by having over 500 HP. As long as your opponent has that much HP, they will have an 80% base chance of resisting stun. Increasing HP greatly increases the chance of resistance.
Wizard: The pretty blue ball is removed from the game. That's right, we're nerfing you guys even more.
What do you guys think? Surely these ideas are perfect for making PW a truly balanced game in existence. b:chuckle0
