Input device lockups

Im currently having a problem where sometimes both my mouse and keyboard lock up. Ive checked the drivers and they are both fine. This problem started about a month ago and has become quite troublesome. The game continues to run properly as I can still see people moving and chat continues as normal. Due to the input being frozen I actually have to do a warm boot on my PC because I cant even tab out or ctrl alt del.
Ive actually already run the verify and reinstalled the game twice in hopes that would fix the problem but no such luck.
Any help with this would be great.

I totally understand what that problem is.
It happens with me too when I go to Archosaur.
It is basically a server error. Yup!! A server error, thats what it says.
When i get the problem it says *Server error!! Try to re-logging in* in the chat box. I guess this happens with me bcoz of the lagg when I go to arch.
You dont need to worry, theres nothing wrong with your PC. If you got really good graphic card like Nividia Geforce 8800 then it wont happen most likely I guess. Its just a form of lagg.
Try switching on best performance mode before entering crowded cities.
I hope it helps.0 -
No this has nothing to do with lag and it more commonly happens when im out in the middle of nowhere. This is total lockup all all input. I cant even minimize or tab out. I have to hit the restart button on the pc itself. As for vid card I have Geforce 9600 GT 1gig0

Keyboard is just basic internet keyboard that Ive had for about 2 years. Neither are usb. (sorry if I listed too much wasnt quite sure what all was needed)0 -
Can you replace/recharge the mouse's batteries?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
-
yep Ive done that. This started happening around early december so batteries were changed a couple times since then.0

Have you tried switching to Windowed Mode?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I see, my case is totally different then.
I get Server error, try relogin!!! msg in chat box
and after that i can only chat with other people but icant click anything.
To other person it seems im standing, but actually i was moving.
I had to force quit and the relogin.
I tried windowed mode too, Iusually play in windowed mode.
It happens to me sometimes not always. Like twice a week.0 -
heh Im in windowed mode about 90% of the time Im not making this issue easy on you am I? ^^ I may try backing up files I need and then just doing a system restore to before the issue began.0

ArsLaan, the server error sounds like it might be related more to latency or network connections. Are you running over wireless, and if so, please consider switching to a wired network, moving closer to your router, and/or clearing out any 2.4 ghz interference sources like cordless phones or microwaves.
Mistree... it's certainly not the typical sort of issues we see here. Is the Intellipoint a bluetooth device?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Not Bluetooth no.0

Can you describe any antivirus software you're running? Occasionally, they can pull control rather violently.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I run Trend Micro Internet Security. Had to reboot twice today (course I was in a FB at the time) Thanks for looking into this, really quite frustraiting.0
-
If you temporarily disable Trend Micro, does the problem persist?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I'll give it a try and let ya know0
