Make it 100$ and I would be a happy camper. My guess, and this is a guess based on the other pw-versions is that the price of the Phoenix won't be fixed.

Have u tried Jolly Jones for halloween?
That's how they got the phoenix in other versions, blowing tons of money in "eggs" which can give u really good stuff like the phoenix, hercule or the dalmation OR it could give u pretty much useless stuff like stones and so forth in the halloween-style systeem.

GM's if you read this.Pass the message that they don't dare to do this like the other versions..Ya hear?! .>.<

    Thank youb:victory

If you think about it, why would someone spend money for the game anyway? Many people have, but is it really necessary? Maybe not, but it's all up to the people. But I digress...

It would be a crazy price.Few people would buy it.And it would be the only real present I would want from the Item mall with a prize for my birthday=) 100$ believe it or not is really reasonable when u consider the other option.

Some people have spend well over 250 euro(Thats way more then $) in the other versions without getting a phoenix.

But Perfect World will do it like this. What brings in more profit?

If they make the phoenix 100$ people will just complain about it being too expensive.
If they make it halloween-styled jolly jones people will take the chance and slowly blow away even more then 100$.

Now u tell me do u want to pay 100$ and get a phoenix 100%.
    Or
Do u want to take chances and pay 200$ and get no phoenix.>.<

Just FYI, you don't buy the phoenix directly, you buy feathers, then you go to the lady in archosaur.
She takes all your feathers and turns them into a phoenix.
The phoenix is already in the shop there....

Correct me if im wrong but isn't that the feathers u can get at the lvl 100+ caves in order to "craft" a phoenix. There are 2 ways of getting a phoenix to my knowledge.

    I don't know about you,but I don't want to wait till lvl 100+.

Probably it'll go for $50 dollars for the cash shop battle pets. That's my best guess and after a while it'll go down to around $30 bucks. The thing with cash shop is.. if you priced them too high only a few people will/can afford to get them.

How did i get this observation ? Well the ancient kirin originally cost $50 bucks when introduced now it is $30 dollars on the cash shop.

I thought I saw somewhere, maybe at Mrs. Zoologist, that it's 9,999 feathers. Might be wrong though.

I think there are two forms of getting a phoenix.

One is by finding 9,999 tickets from some high level dungeon. The other is to purchase it via cash shop.

The phoenix will be hard to get - a matter of luck. It's fully possible to spend over $100 on it, and it won't be reduced. I would enjoy the prices to be kept high as I don't want the server full of foxes that can 1-hit kill anything they want with the ripping bite/ream flesh.

It probably won't be immediately purchaseable from the cash shop. Probably something stupid like a random generated item that could give you a feather or what not.

Phoenix/hercules etc should be only 50 gold.

WHY? It only eats food dropped by monsters, no Water.... thats damn expensive. Its stats aren't much higher, besides the speed.
To make up for it, you could put food in the cash shop.

Don't tell me that "you can use a pet book", because you still have to keep the pet's loyalty above 500...

It should be 100 Gold at least, it makes one of the biggest impacts on gameplay out of all the Cash Shop items, especially in terms of PvP. At 50 Gold it'd cost 5-10m which is very little for such a godly pet, capable of 1 hitting and lightly armoured foe. Especially considering the fact that Venos are the richest class in the game, their job specific items should generally be inflated.

One thing to consider... if the pet is too expensive ($100 or more) that means less users will be able to afford it or want to buy it if it is as good as people say (it's also detrimental to PWI coz less $$$ due to that less people can afford it) then again it wouldn't change the playing field a lot, the few who can afford it will still own the pvp playing field (imagine your enemies has veno with phoenixes and your own clan's veno don't coz they can't afford it). Now if you price it at $50 which is moderately expensive yet not too much above what the general masses can afford this means more veno players can afford it. In PvP battlefields if your enemies has venos with phoenix then you can field your own guild's veno with phoenixes. Then again it would be generally detrimental to the game in the first place if CS pets are such powerhouses that people claim that "you gotta have it" to be able to play competitively. So in this case I would take with a grain of salt about the hype on the phoenix battle pet.

    100$ Piccolo,are you serious?

The phoenix might be the best pet for a veno but still it has a downside.Hay,u need to feed it like mentioned before items that drop from mobs. Can u imagine spending 1 hay every 5 minutes for every time a veno grinds, those are expensive as hell and will only get more expensive once the Phoenix comes out.Veno's can make alot of coins when rightly played perhaps but they certainly don't deserve to be trashed(100$) on a Phoenix then keep spending a huge amount of coins ingame as well.

Though I wouldn't mind 100$ in principle if they made it without needing food:P

It's also possible here that they are trying to trigger a item dependency here.. it's a common marketing tactic/gameplay balancing factor in F2P games where they offer an item of significant important in gameplay which requires another item (from the CS) in order to work or at least make the item less powerful without it such as those pet books. So in this case if you buy the phoenix pet be prepared to pay thru your nose in hay (omg start hoarding those hay) or buy a pet book to maintain your super pet.

Hercules has **** attack, but a lot of hp... phoenix is better but sure as hell ain't worth over $60.

Think about it, people pay 50-100m for a good molder, this is THE BEST pet available, you can use it for the rest of your time in PWI, it will never fall behind with levels unlike Molders, it is and always will be the best pet you can use. If you want the best then you have to pay the best. If you don't think it's worth it then don't get it, but I assure you that at 100 Gold there will still be plenty of buyers.

100$ for a digital pet. It seems I'm around a bunch of big spenders with nothing better to spend money on.

And I thought Gpotato was bad.

The pet is a weapon, and you don't have to spend a single cent of real life money on it. Learn to read and research before you post nonsense.

Yeah yeah. I also read how difficult it is to get without paying for it. No need to insult me.

It's funny how these free to play games often come out being more expensive than pay to play games.

Rild no point in arguing over that. That's the way free to play game get supported.By a handful of people supporting the rest.

Im not suggesting 100$ would be a reasonable price for it when viewed generally.Heck it wouldn't even be worth 15$ just for those pixels. But the other alternative of getting a phoenix by chance would be equal to going to the casino and spending your money. Now THAT I don't want cause ull not only be tempted to spend alot but you never know for certain if you're getting it.As for spending alot of real life $ on a free to play game,it's for entertainment.Whatever floats your boat.

Yeah, I know. I wouldn't mind supporting a decent game like this if the prices was sane. I'm playing free to play games because I'm sick and tired of WoW and I'm getting bored of City Of Heroes and want to try something different.

And I know that the people willing to pay crazy prices like this keep the game running. So let them spend, as long as Perfect World stays around..

Venos don't need pots and don't burn charms as quickly, they have much lower repair costs and those two things are generally what other players spend most of their earnings on. This makes Veno very good at making money. Taming rare pets and making all-class pets is also great for making money, for 200k you can sell the pet for 300k. But that also takes a lot of time and unless it's convinient to do then farming solo is much easier.
