Why are moderators allowed to have bigger signature than the rest of the players?

    The sig option says:

    Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 195.3 KB (whichever is smaller).

    Her signature is 160.1KB since that is smaller than the pixel size it went by the KB instead of the pixel size.

    I think this is why not sure.. Find a bigger picture thats less than 195.2 KB and see what it does when you upload it as your siggy.


    If not then trust me, its a pointless arguement. I know from my why mods get custom avatar threads. You will just get mocked by the admins for it, and told to deal with it, Its part of the special privileges the Mods "dont" get.

    You're reading it wrong. In the case of the 500x100 pixels or 195.3KB as limits, when it says "whichever is smaller" they mean "whichever is smaller than what you are using." So a 195KB image can't be used if it's 500 x 101 pixels, and a 500x100 image can't be used if it's 196KB.

    Actually, according to my Control Panel for signatures:

    Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 97.7 KB (whichever is smaller).
    We get a smaller KB allowance. I even tested the dimensions once, and if it was any larger, it got automatically resized, like anyone elses. Dunno why hers didn't. =\

    Actually, I think I just figured it out... it's because she's not using the standard forum signature uploader.

    I see now. Moderators have the ability to use image tags anywhere (even in signatures) whereas that function has been disabled for regular forum members, with the exception of the screenshots forum. Her signature picture is hosted on tinypic, not the PWI forum.

    You all are taking it the wrong way due to the way she worded her post. Something as small of an issue as this, why would they make it where mods get more than the player? It should all be the same for everyone.

    We can clearly see that they are mods, giving them bigger banners purposely is like not needed.

    But like the moderator clarified, she gets the same as everyone else.

    I'm just saying. Its no big deal if the mods do or not but wouldn't you too think that is a little to unnecessary to give mods that much more "glory" over us. Not like they don't enough.

    I don't see why people still complaining about mods having bigger sigs than us... Get over it. Sigs are only objects for forums. I don't care about whoever has better sigs and that why I don't have any sigs. I don't intend to have one either :P

    Yep, it looked much better when my sig was bigger, but you know... some users aren't okay with it ( which is why that person made this thread ) so yeah, that's why I redesigned my sig. I miss my old one though. =(

    I would put mine up but like the person said, too lazy plus most wouldn't understand my sig anyway, :p

    But the others are right and in my thoughts the person who made this thread is probably a kid with a ego on them of a "it's not fair to me" thought, I've seen this on many game forums before. :(

    Kind of disappointing really that people complain over EVERYTHING. :eek:

    Not saying you are wrong in that statement.

    There is always Hierarchy of power anywhere you go. Be it in school/college, you're job OR on these forums.

    For example: If a President says " He is gonna give same rights to men and women, it doesn't mean he is gonna make everyone a president but give same rights as civilians ". Imagine mods being president and regular players being civilian here. :p


    PS: I know not the best of examples but I hope you get what I am saying.

    I honestly don't care if they get more room. Sure I could use a bit more to do what I want with my sig but I work with what I have.
