And if your direct download fail at 99.99%, you can always finish it with BT :D
It really happened to me once T_T *hides in a corner*
That will only work if there are both torrent and DD, i hope there will be.

PW-MY was an overnight download. Hopefully it'll be the same this time.

you're wrong. DD is the best way to end up having corrupted files, especially big ones like the client
when you DD you have to rely on your ISP's error correction which is often crappy.

torrent prevents corrupt files by checking every part it downloaded and automatically redownloads only this part if it was corrupt. the only case where you end up with corrupt files is if you use a crappy client or when the initial seed had corrupted files.

when DD-ing, even if the error correction fails, the data still lands on your HDD - have fun downloading the whole 2.5GB again.

    - DD is easiest
    - torrent is safest

so i'd say, host the client on a webserver (splitted in like, 5 parts) for those who can't/don't want to use torrent and a torrent for those who can and want to use it.

then i guess u have a really crappy ISP ive never had a corrupt file from a DD ive d/led many games, programs, etc. with DD and have never been dissconnected so maybe u should look into ur ISP. As for me ill DD till my eyes pop out. I d/led My version in about 2 1/2 hours with DD so i know there wont be a problem here in the US.

The prob with DD is, lots of us have 512kb adsl lines that give a max throughput of 48kbps, which means a 2.5gb file takes about one entire day of constant uninterupted download.

I can't do that because I have a internet cafe here and I can only download at nights/AH.

It's not my ISP (i changed like 4 ISPs already, always the same), it's my internal house line's fault, we have called techs several times and now (since yesterday) it seems to be fixed.

It all depends on your connection speed and not everyone can have a high one. Mine is 256Kb/s downstream and i can't have anything faster where i live.

obviosley if u live in a proper country and you have 10mbit internet or more it doesnt matter at all. There are loads of ppl with really slow connections (like me) that would also like to play the game and not struggle ourselves to death to download it.

I hope to god they have torrent or ftp as an option, I hate using http for files over 300mb. I always seem to get game client downloads broken.

Since it's going to be BIG and since LOTS of users are going to download it, would it be possible for you guys to make the client be available for download with a few mirror sites and a FEW DAYS before august 19th a.k.a the CB open day?

We plan on releasing our client prior to the actual launch date of our beta. No worries folks. ;)

They should torrent it to cut back on the bandwidth used and distribute it faster.
