login issues 20th october

A guildmate pointed out, that he could not log in his second toon. Sounded like typical login problems with arc, that should be solved in few hours. Now I saw another one reporting the same thing, approximately 4 hours after the first one reported that issue.

So I tried it out for myself. Here is the deal: All works fine, as long as I log in this account.
But if I try to log in my secondary (I have a main character and a sub main both on different accounts), there the problems start. At first, after pressing the play button, the launcher opens up delayed for about 15 to 30 seconds. Then the patcher starts, after the launcher disappears. When you press play button, the element client will start as normal.

Once the client fully loaded, you will be greeted with a non-functional login screen. The details from your previously logged in account will be shown there, instead of the current once, and a void box for the password. And no matter how often you retry to log in, the result stays the same. Effectively rendering you unable to log for example your cat shop account in or your secondary. And it does not matter, if you have an element client running or not, the result is unaltered.

So, I did a second test. Figuring out, if this account is able to log in. And it does without a problem, just the secondary can't.

Question is now: Is this a bug, or is this an intentional change, with the change of company?

    I can't even login my main. Whenever i try to login only non functional login screen shows up...

    Yup, now even that one won't log either. Hope it's going to be fixed soon. Losing progress for a day sounds already bad, but losing progress for more than one day and the last days of charge/spend rewards is even worse.

    not able to login as well, keep getting second log screen, after minute or so no connection possible.

    It's odd but I also noticed this yesterday. Sometimes PWI starts, sometimes PWI aborts because the login info isn't arrived and sometimes the client just don't start. According to what I know we weren't allowed to use VPN however if I use VPN connecting to an Asian country I can log in. Maybe Gearbox want to know where we're located? Think the problem started after the last Arc update.

    Things that worked for me up to now to log in
    - If the patcher doesnt load within a couple of seconds of pressing play force close Arc and launch a new process
    - Before pressing play, click the settings icon next to the play button and switch the 32/64 boxes apply and switch back to the one you use and then press play.
    - Repeat a couple of times if doesnt work the first time

    Seems to be a token problem between Arc and the game client. When you have taskman open and click play you can see the Arc process change when it fails to load game

    I also cannot log into my own account. I'm not even talking about a secondary here. Got a dc yesterday and i've been unable to log back on ever since. My fac mates also were complaining about the same issue, so my guess is one of every 5 or max 10 people cannot connect. Some of my fac mates were in usa, some in europe, basicly all of us are in different parts of the world, so it's not just an issue that affects just one region. I cannot enter any of the servers, so, yes, the issue must be between arc and the servers.

    there's a lot of people who are having the same issue, my question is where is pwi staff and why has the problem not been fixed yet? this has been ongoing for A DAY... surely they are aware of the issue considering people are complaining about it? they can add new packs to boutique often, but when there're issues, they're not quick to fix...

    There is a few ways to work around it. Still it's painfully tedious to do:
    Found out, that there is very very low success rate, when you log out via log out function.
    There is higher chances, if you open the taskmanager and close the arc client over there and relaunch it, until the perfect world launcher opens up instantly after pressing play. And no, they was fixing some other login issues quite fast few weeks ago. Can't say it was bad all the way.
    Hope someone gets to it as soon as possible. It doesn't need to be this way.

    well i to had this problem yesterday and again today when switching from 1 account to another who knows maybe they will compensate us for this issue but i did find that if i waited about 3o mins it would let me log in

    have been trying for last 2 hours to login without success. Even tried verifying the files. No luck. You would think that if they want us to buy gold bad enough to give rewards, that they would be equally eager for us to spend that gold and fix this login issue ASAP.

    Took me 1hr to even login in and by then i just login off to work since no time... fix your login in...

    Was able to login yesterday but had a lot of difficulty. Today logged one but I cannot log another. I just restarted pc and cannot even log on a single toon. Was checking the other posts and tried recommendations by other people here, worked once for me, then never again. Is gearbox just making it harder to even logon the the game so they have an excuse to shut it down since a lot cannot logon? If so just shut it down now or sell it to someone else.

    I am having the issue on my main, says I am disconnected from the server.

    This may not be a problem from ARC (Gearbox) but a global problem.
    Its seems someone cut two important internet cables in Europe and in the Atlantic ocean.
    Making alot of internet users experience problems.

    Im no expert in these things, but this happend thursday and the problems we have to log in also started thursday.

    This is all just a theory, but im sure our login problems will be fixed very soon.

    Open task manager after opening ARC

    Hit the arrow next to arc to show all the sub proccesess.
    if crashpad_handler.exe is there, force quit it. (End Task)
    then proceed to login.

    you will have to repeat this process for every character you want to login\
