forced pvp

why did u force pvp on the new content. if i wanted pk id be on a pk server. i do not think it is fair that you force pvp on people. how can some people compete with others that spend 1000s per month to have the best gear in game and are able to 1 shot you even if your a r9s3 full deity RS10 toon. so you go do the bear escort in ulfgard and the second u step off the steps boom your pked. total ****. as of today i wont spend any more money on your game and i am seriously considering quitting. thank you for ruining something i enjoyed playing for 10 years.

I think the new area would be great with a few tweaks. I don't Pk, i don't like to pk... the new area is almost impossible to avoid pking. If you dont PK this area gives PKers a huge advantage to materials cut off to the rest of the game. Even with speed pots and other tricks i still get killed just trying to run and finish my missions. my faction (non-pking faction) took a poll and 56 of of stated we would probably quit playing if this was not fixed since it gives PKers an advantage. I messaged people and state i don't pk but they don't care. anyone is able to get killed. If im doing a mission and i die my mission fails, i cant pick it up again and i cant get a new one till the next day......Maybe just change it so blue name toon's can not die. simple fix that always people who want to pk to pk and those who just want the mats for skills to do missions.

I wouldn't judge things by the first week. As the content matures I feel PK in the new area will be more rare. Players only need so many bloods and crystals and once the novelty wears off it becomes a chore like any other daily.

asterelle i really don't think high gear players will stop pk low gear players they get their fun out this. PWI so stupid to make a zone where high lv can pk blue low lv and we can not get our quests done.....seem no thought was put into this and to get any skills you need do quest 180 times ........better off to quit this game if not fixed.

you must talk about the new cross server daily otherwise your comment wouldnt make any sense if you talk about the survival daily @ neverfall.

i do the dailies since day 1 and noone ever pked me so far, nor did i see any pvp. i pick my dailies, escort the polar bear / dig the stuff and thats it. done in less than 10 min.

but like i said if you talk about the survival daily @ neverfall then your comment doesnt make any sense because gear doesnt matter here. everybody gets the same gear / cards etc. - so "high gear players will not stop to pk low gear players" isnt possible - also "we can not get our quests done" wouldnt make sense as well because you get bloods just for entering

last but not least: why the trouble? your chars should be royal sky 10 which takes a lot of time so i assume they are quiet geared by now (g16 or higher). for what kind of content do you need these passives? we were able to finish all dungeons without these passives without issues. even the so called hard dungeon called uncharted paradise is a joke if you know what to do. i see the passives as a nice extra but i dont really need it. and you cant say you need these passives for pvp since you already refuse to do a pvp daily even when the gear is equalized.

What difference does a bear make? As far as I know ppl actively pk while having bears following them bc you get extra crystals if you don't start with a red package.

The fact that you can pk blue named players is an unintended glitch/bug. A pvE server will never become a pvp server, so disregard any rumours about that floating around and instigated by some players. I suspect that with the next (small) expansion this glitch/bug will be fixed. I also suspect that those who abuse this system as it is now will be removed from the game.

Don't think that the higher up's aren't watching, and they are fully aware that players have left because of the current pvp 'abuse'. Players leaving or quitting the game costs them lots of cash, and that is something they will not abide by, esp not when it is caused by players who think they're above it all.

The only thing i would advise is to send in tickets if a player is continuously killing blue named in the new zone(s). Trust me, i've seen it before, even a GM must follow the company's policies and takes orders from the ones above. If they decide they're losing players (and they are) and thus cash, they will act.

"you seem like a nice fella with a lot of in-depth knowledge of PWI, PWCN and business in general."

I'm old enough to have played many mmo's over the last couple of decades, i've been a GM in a few games, and i know how a F2P business model works. I've seen mmo's go down because of different reasons, mismanagement, lack of support, bad development cycle, you name it, i've seen it.

There is no doubt in my mind that the developers here keep a close eye on what is going on with their game or the game they're managing (the license holders). Because being close to the ball as they say, keeps a company running and money flowing.
Money that can be used to either improve and manage their game, and either develop or aquire (license) other games.

This mmo is no different. If players leave because there is a problem, the managers will become aware of it and act, because not acting means losing more players , thus, money. It's not the really huge spenders that keep a game going, it's the huge majority that spends on a regular basis (the (bi-)monthly chargers) that are the cash flow of a game.

If only a minority of players instill or are the cause of a problem (in this case the abuse of an unintended glitch/bug and instilling fear with other players about the future/direction of the game), then management will act and deal with or remove the problem. Which is how it should be. It can only bring back confidence to the players.

You need long term income from many, losing players who provide that is not really an option for a gaming company.
But that's just my 2 cents.

On a side note : you need only look at the attendance numbers for the cross server nation wars to see that there is indeed a problem, especially with one of the servers. My guess ? It's the only server that has that problem or the only server that has a small group of players who do the exact thing i mention above in previous post.

You guys have to remember that in China, where the game originates, there are no PvE servers. The game is designed from the ground up to be PvP.

There are many things that are different between our servers and those in china. They have events that we don't have, we have gear/items they don't have , they had, at a certain point, thousands of bots running in their game (hacks) that we didn't.

Fact is, the mentality of the Western players is completely different from the chinese. The reason why our servers are different is because if they weren't, this game wouldn't still be running here.

When this game was launched over here, it was instantly decided to make PvE servers and PvP servers. Over a few years the game lost players, enough of them to decide to merge the servers in what they are now. Most games released here in the west have always been adapted to our market. Nearly every (successful) mmogame designed over the years has been adapted to the western market where you have either pvE/pvP 'zones' or where you have different servers for each.

Players that chose the pvE servers in the past did that for a reason. They either dislike pvp, or they wanted to progress their character so that they could pvp whenever they wanted, either dueling, or doing TW's and NW's. Making them PvP in order to progress forces them to finally abandon the game. It's a part they still do not like.

Ask the devs/managers : how many players have left the game since the introduction of the new zones ? And on what servers ? You'd be surprised at their numbers.

forced pvp made me quit that daily, and pretty much all other dailies as well. so many things i don't like doing anymore.
for me it's just xTW, TW and sometimes xNW. for all the rest i don't log anymore.

another reason is because the gear gap sometimes just is too big and you get one shotted by ppl with g17r5 and nprb2.

So much animosity between 2 factions on the PVE Server I am on, when I started playing in 2010 there was just TW...I am an older player & PVP/PK doesn't interest me...I know Ulfgard is a PVP area but now senseless killing of Blue named players just because of the faction I am in has made me a target today by someone who clearly couldn't careless because of the Faction I am in ....I want to get the mats to upgrade my skills but unlike the Backpack run when blue named in Primal you get killed ...time to quit I think unless something is done about the core few players of the two main factions on my Server who kill because they hate the Faction I am in..

I know that on certain times a specific group of players is online and in the 'pvp zone' killing blue named players. Once they're off to bed or at times when they're not online, players of my own faction(s) are timing their ulfgard to be done at that time, just to avoid all the drama involved.

As far as faction animosity goes, there's not much to be done when a few members of a faction are acting like that, unless the factionleader (if he/she's not part of it...) steps up and warns them or boots them. And that's not happening often. If you want to take the wind out of their sails, then do not respond and ignore them. Kids seek attention, no matter their age, don't give them that and they'll find something else to do or someone else to bully.

If they keep on killing you, file a support ticket. You'll get a message that it's 'closed'...but that's not entirely true...ppl (read: managers/staff) are looking into it. (Gm's have bosses too.)

The game population is very low... - very very low... They want to keep happy the few players that still spend money - and these players are the pvpers... So, forced pvp is a solution... There's no misunderstanding here... :)

That's not exactly true. Most players in the factions i'm in are mostly pvE players who charge on a weekly or monthly basis, myself included. The few die hard pvper's in those factions do not spend much more then the rest of us, they're just focused on different gear and a different gameplay experience. that's their choice, and if they're happy with that good for them.

What i do notice though is that there a handful of players( not in one of the facs i'm in) who solely play PvP and are intended to make other players life miserable if they can. Wether it's being jerks or kids in worldchat, or trying to provoke a reaction from others, disrupting their gameplay, it doesn't matter to me. I take screenshots or video and ignore them. Their real life persona and character shines through, and it aint a pretty sight, i pity them, and that's all one can do, feel sorry for em. You find jerks like that everywhere in real life, i just choose to ignore and move on.

Well if you have been playing for 10 year you know has much has anyone else that PWI will do Upgrade to fill there pockets 1st. The new PVP zone will make you quit, or invest. If you quit they win cause they don't have to upgrade the server for more people playing. If you invest they win cause you give them money. And frankly, the skill you get there has low impact in PVE. You can always find a team of paying player and they will nuke the dungeon. You just have to tag along and get your mats.
