So i just wanted ot know, is it populateD?
Yes, But this can depend on your take of the word. The forums drag little of the player base now so dont use that to call the player count

    cashs shop?
No, If you mean Cash Shop needed to play the answer Is still no. Unless you invest a LOT of time then dont expect to be a PvP contender to that point.

    balance?
As balance goes with an MMO their are some that are OP and others that are more of a fun toon. To this point it depends what class you play from the start.

    pro vs cons.
You need to play the game to experience these for your self. Everyone is different and will play to different systems and styles. Where I will find a Con you may find a Pro.

    My Overall.

    7/10 Perfect World International.
Perfect Would is a well crafted game that will see many more players come and go on its Servers. With almost 9 Years of Development work it has many Caves and the Unique "Open map feature" all running on one instance unlike some new MMOs. The game at lower Lvs is hindered by the Higher Lv players as some Caves are not used any more this is one of the reason for marking down. Despite these the game runs on older systems and is a good game for a group of friends to play. Being an International Game makes running events hard as well as support for events another reason for the markdown. This was helped with the launch of the EU servers but was to late for some users of other servers. To truly understand the Wider and Craft in this game you do really have to play it!

    Over all Rating.

It's not worth. xtourney doesn't work, xnw has been disabled, xtw seasons are ridiculous (they don't know start and end date), tw map reset period cutted to 3 month. Buddy, they just killing fun due to their incompetence.

    It's just my opinion.

It is true that a lot of things arent working properly but I believe there is still some fun to be had. So log in and give it a shot. Also carry guardian scrolls, I know what it's like to lose items in pk and it's not pleasant.

Endgame is currently broken, they released a bunch of gears last expansion but then didn't include the two events that give the mats to actually obtain those gears, they promised to fix the events so we could get the mats, but then those mats "mysteriously" show up in Cash Shop for an obscene amount of money (I'm talking thousands of dollars). Meanwhile, the promise to fix the events is never mentioned again.

So yeah, take that for what it's worth.

They don't bother to fix any content, they just put the items in cash shop and expect people to buy stuff directly. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't release UP judgement mode and just decided to put those mats in cash shop as well.

If you liked PvP, I would say no. You are too far behind to catch up on the new passives and all that stuff. They are releasing new stuff soon, so when that comes out, you will be even farther behind.

PvE. Sure. Not any real need to be end game geared.

Also find out what server you used to be on. There has been a server merge and servers were changed to PvE with option to go PvP, and time changes. If you were on harshlands server, expect a 10? hour time difference.

PvP wise you could catch up but your need to either Farm Coin for gold or Charge.

    OR...

WORK evey day for hours and your catch up faster than you think.

*wonders how you catch up on daily limited quests to acquire pimal blood, barbaric blood, spirit, starchart items, waravatars, homestead skills, morai skills, meridian*

btw, frostcovered city is usless now and there is almost no way to farm something the whole day with one char. TT and Lunar are the only ones who are left to farm, the rest ist limited. DQ-Items have no value. you got 8 hour limit on farmingtime. all endgame-instances cane be done only once per day....

I dunno, im not an expert at pwi at all, just started playing this 2 weeks ago? but it's really fun. So for any new-comers reading this, please I encourage you to try it and download. Get past those boring levels and you'll find a good game.

My advice would be a NO, just stay away and look elsewhere.

    WHY ?

    - Because this game costs too much money and time to compete especially for pvp, don't ever think about playing the game for pve, pve is dead, boring and doesn't have any fun in it, it's just chores in disguise, and the reward is like your employer spitting on you after you did something for him.

    - Too slow and tedious even for the free stuffs to catchup.

    - This game is only fun when the population is crowded, but look at how we respond to your question, we need new players to liven up the game yet most ppl answered with a NO or the equivalent of NO.

I have to disagree. The dailies you have to do can be finished all together in way less than an hour, add another 30 minutes if you also wanna do BH and base quests and other not neccessary dailies.

People forget that pwi has one of the best progression systems of all games. sure you have to do alot of dailies..but for quite some time you get alot stronger on a daily basis too.

A G16 player can also compete in PvP with no problem, you just need to be uptodate with all passives the game offers, grab a def lvl weapon and play support for the heavier DDing players.. Playing this game without cash or too much time is no problem as well, getting max gears just will take alot longer

I am in the same place too.Just wondering everybody is saying charge , pay money etc.. but how much are u looking at?

Or what is some geares prices? The mid-top tier range prices of some items so the new players have some sort of idea?

Some games have less people donating so if u donate , u can get geares cheaper where as if alot of people donate then it is more etc..Thanks.

To charge for all of your gear it is impossible to give you an exact price because:
A ) My definition of mid-top gear varies from others
B ) Much of what makes a good character is RNG
C ) Much of what makes a good character can be farmed

Keeping that in mind this is my estimate:

If you got mid-top tier gear (My definition would be: farm rep, pay for r999, get up to +10 refine on gear with free promos, Pay for +12/11, pay for vit stones, Pay for accessory sockets and stones, farm star chart and card sets) you will be looking at about 2 years of farm for the rep/star chart/card set on average, about 1500 gold for the r999, and about another 1000 gold for refines and shards so very rough estimate 2500 to get mid-top range gear.

That is not counting you can easily charge for accessories (Puzzle badge, tome, rings, emperor tome) will easy add another 700-1000 gold. So if you get the bells and whistles, looking at least 3500-4000 Gold.

And then the RNG star chart and cards if you choose to charge for that is an endless money pit. Easy can take many thousands of dollars to complete but many players only have the card set and half done Star chart. So I would not worry about wasting money on these now but focus hard on farming your cards.

TL;DR Very easy to spend 3-4k USD for mid-top end gear (this is the gear I would recommend to have at minimum to enjoy PVP) and that same amount or more for the RNG pieces to round out your gear.

That is not the end either. There is more gear just released and I guess probably in the next year as more players get the gear that will change you from mid-top to low-mid if you do not get the gear and easily will take another thousand or two to purchase this along with hours of farming.

So do not think if you invest now you can be done, you will only have another year or so until the next few things are released that will cost you more.

If you are looking for PVP with little or no effort this is not the game for you.

My advice is, install the game and give it a try, at worst you will waste the download and install time. Many people here on forums are really toxic so they will give you a bad opinion..

While is true that reaching end game can cost a lot of time and money. Not everyone on this game is godly.
Much of the feedback that you will get here is from veteran end game players with everything maxed and some times that people can be very biased.

It is true that the game is somehow a bit more dead than years ago, and after the merge there is a lot of rich people on same server, this gives the idea that everyone is endgame.
I play this game since 2012, it took me about 2 and alf years to get what i have: r9s3+10 armor, weap and orn+12 and candle set. This mostly by farming and being a merchant.
To be honest someone can just be g16 nirvana and still be able to do a lot of stuff on pve or even support on pvp, this of course avoiding the rich people.

Also the g16 vana stuff is really cheap now, specially during the 2x that they do sometimes. Just keep in mind that g16 nirvana is not end game PVP gear.

Also, someone on this thread say something about PVE being dead. While is true that PVE can be really boring, especially if you are end game, people should understand that a lot of the stuff you need to be OP at PVP requires pve, things like:

    - Daily quests (some of this you can't skip, like the blood ones. so cash shop will not save you)
    - Flowsilver Palace (for the card packs or just to sell the fsp coin and get in game money)
    - Warsong. (if the person is farming badges and molds for rrr9)

I really don't think that pve is dead, specially on a game where 70% or more of the population is blue named and almost never pk.
