I have no idea what this brown box is doing on my cleric and other veno when I log on them, but it's very annoying. How can I remove it?

    Pretty much.

    There is software for mass find-replace situations, but you need to know how to use regular expressions, which I assume you don't.

    Pretty much.

    You can find the correct one as shown below - I had this problem, looked at the other thread and saw how. Here's an edited summary of the other thread.

    It seems it's a control bar not impemented in our version so PWE just decided to remove all its functions. To remove it you can edit the ini file which is named something like
    26905441
    26905552
    or
    26905441.ini
    26905552.ini ect ( .ini only shows if your file system is set to display fle extensions)

    on china server the box has functions

    on our server it does not

    To remove it from your display
    -Go to the location on your computer where PWI is installed, the directory is something like
    C:\Program Files\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\element\userdata\Layout

    -When here click on "date modified" at the top until the most recent ones are at the top.

    -If you are logged into you're character log out and refresh the window with the .ini files and the one for you're character should come up at the top, double check this by looking at the date and time. If not log into you're character, log back out and refresh.

    -If you are confident the one at the top is the right one, open in notepad and find Win_SysModeQuickBar_x and Win_SysModeQuickBar_y (somewhere near the bottom)
    Replace the numbers so it becomes:
    Win_SysModeQuickBar_x = 9999
    Win_SysModeQuickBar_y = 9999

    Someone said you have to be logged out completely before making changes. I was logged in on a different account, and couldn't be bothered to log out, and it worked fine for me. So perhaps only the account the affected character is on needs to be completely logged out.

    One person said a way to get rid of the box is to verify several times (this would be very slow)

    Sort the folder by last modified date.

    I think you quoted the wrong person...

    Date modified gives the last date a file was written to. That means that the last character you played isn't always going to be the first under date modified.

    Optionally you can just remove them from the files entirely. That also works. 9999 will only work for as long as resolution stays below 9999x9999. Which is for quite a while.

    That person is wrong. They were just lucky that the control moved itself, which I've seen happen.
