Then (if true) it's an issue in the gateway between Europe and the west coast. Not something PWE can fix.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Please actually go read what was linked to you. It will explain how the internet works so you don't look like a fool when you're having issues. At the moment your evidence that PWE is responsible is made of entirely anecdotal evidence. Go read the post, do the tests, and bring back actual evidence to support your statements.Kernal32.dll error? I'm European, play on lost city server, and don't have major lag problems. Had little lags yesterday, but just refreshed the connection (purged dns cache, renewed ip) and hat no lag issues again (last problem with lag was 2-3 weeks earlier, got that one solved fast too).
Only prob is at "Smoke over Archsaur" event when bosses appear. But when I turn off all effects, players and so on, it's also smooth enough to participate.0 -
well this links show me why i got maybe the problems but nothing else. i dont talking about lags i was talking about server error pls read what i write before u answer lol0

To be fair, have you seen the posts in this section? Most people saying they are having server errors, they mean latency issues.
Anyways, you should have provided a detailed explanation of the situation. Immediately jumping to blame PWE and saying "everyone" in Europe is having the problem just makes everyone think you have latency issues. The server error message has a lot of random triggers. I believe when that error occurs, it gets logged locally. There might be a way to determine if the server is having issues or your client is having issues (corrupt or maybe incompatible?), but I'm not sure.
Edit: I saved some logs of the issue a few years ago. Make sure your PW files are in a non-restrictive privileges folder. There seems to be a map loading issue that can occur causing this message to popup frequently. Also make sure of all of the other things mentioned on Sylen's thread. Like disabling system file watchers over PW, etc. Also, when you started to have the issues, had you changed anything in your computer? Software?Kernal32.dll error? This is the voice of a person who obviously hasn't read the information given very well.
I'm seriously considering completely ignoring all future posts like this, and only responding to the ones who actually bother to provide information in a coherent manner.
Your issue is most likely the "Server Error - Log out and back in" issue we've been seeing. (I think thats what the message says, not looking it up right now because that takes more effort than the OP has put into troubleshooting or explaining.)
Everything I have seen on this issue so far is pointing to either security software interfering with the data flow, or an issue with the internet connection. (The latter can be on your end, or in the cloud, and will still only affect PWI and not other games.)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I am sorry but the majority of people that read your post have no idea what all those technical terms you name there means.
You have to remember that not all the people that come into the forum are native english talkers. I am not saying that is the case with the OP. I dont know what nationality OP is.
Some people have learn english very little in school or they learned from TV. They didnt learn it very well and probably they cant have a talk face to face with an american were the conversation goes fast and without that the non-american tries to find its words. I personally learned english from school and watching cartoons on TV and reproducing the words they were saying there.
Now about this:
http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1688781
Your post is good. It helps people but you use terms that people have no idea what means.
So its a probabilty to encounter people that will go on your thread , read it but still they wont understand what is the real problem they have.
Its a new languege for them. For me too.
I have no idea what a macro virus is or heuristic scans means.Just to mention a few if the terms i found on your post.
So please before posting things like this against people like OP that gives answers that makes you a little bit angry think about what I write here.

SO educate yourself. Do some research. Work to get better at English if you insist on playing a English game.
I tried to keep my post as simple as possible without downgrading it into a 5-hour lecture on network technology that is dumbed down to fifth-grade American English.
I expect that if you are playing a US-based English game, that you have at least the level of knowledge obtained by a standard US citizen who would be playing this game if they were near the age that the TOS allows. This is based on the US education system, which from what I understand, is a bit slower than many other countries. If you don't have this knowledge, that's not my fault. It's yours. (Well, possibly your failing education system; but again, if you see the need to improve it, go learn what you need to learn.)
If you have a problem with that, fix it. I cannot fix it for you.
If you don't provide the information we need, there's nothing we can do to help you.
If you don't know how to do that, start figuring it out. You might get a bit smarter along the way.
Be forewarned though. It requires effort on your end before anyone can put an effort into helping you with your issue.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Im sorry but you are wrong with this Educate yourself and do some research thing.
Not all people are what you call gamers. Like people that made a habbit in playing video games.
There are people that play games just for relaxing. relaxing after a hard day of work.
So try to see this way: A person that is non-american and knows some english words comes home after a hard day of work and he wants to spend time relaxing playing a game. And he cannot cause some isuess the game or his internet or his PC has.
And you say '' educate yourself'' or do ''some research''. Sorry but after a stressful day some people dont have the time and patience to educate themself on technical things that means almost nothing to their life.
They just want to hit keyboards and kill monsters or other players or both. Or explore a virtual world. But they cannot do that and its frustating.
Let me give myself as an exemple:
I came home. I had to walks the entery city to handle some problems. I wont go into details here since is my personal life and Im sure no one forum cares about it.
I was tired but I couldnt just sleep. On TV the same boring things. So i decided to play PW.
But somehow I dont know for what reason the game decided to change resoultion without me touching anything. I changed back to normal but then those 4 circles problem that many of players had apeared on my screen. It didnt botter my game play since it was in the up right of my screen but my atention was draw there. And I knew I couldnt play untill i get rid of that. So I closed the game . I camed on forums. Spend 2 hours of searching the post that talks about the problem. 2 hours were I wanted to play the game not to try find a solution. But **** happens. So i found the post, read it , read the solution some players give there and go to fix it.I entere were my PW files were... enter at layout but didnt find what people were refering to. Or better say I didnt know that i have to go further. Didnt knew I had to click on that ''insert random number here''. ini thing and that there was that '' i dont know what to call it'' and change that number into 9999. So I ask on forums and I had to wait for an answer. Time were I could play the game. Luckly for me the answer camed fast. Like 20minutes or so. So i go click on that 2222.ini things, found that win..... x thing and change the number into 9999. And I thought that is all. I can play the game now. But those circles were still there. So came back to forums , tell them what i did and waited for an answer. Time that I could use playing the game. I had the answer in 30 minutes or so. Luckly again. I could have waited more. Than go there and open each of those .ini thing and do the change .I spend almost 1 hour open each of those finding what I need to change and do it'' So here it is almost 5 hours of frustation that I didnt want it.People want quick solutions to their problems. And my problem was a small one. It took time but was easy to fix it .
Now Am I saying you should educate me or others? No, I am not.
All I am saying is that you should not be so angry against a post like this:
''me reinstalled that game like 3 times. i got only that issues in pwi other games like neverwinter works rlly nice.''
You over reacted a bit in my opinion , It wasnt like the person said:
'' i reistalled the game 3times you fools. idiots i have this problem only with PW. Other game like neverwinter worlks nice you baboons''
If it would have been such thing I would have understand your answer in the way you give it.
Dont get me wrong. Your thread is awesome. And I am sure you spend alot of time on it to help people. And that was a very nice thing to do since is brought you nothing but personal satisfaction probably.0 -
If this non-fluent English speaking "non-gamer" "just wants to relax", perhaps he's playing the wrong type of game? Play an offline game, or one based closer to where he lives (which doesn't mean there won't be connection issues, but hopefully fewer), or one with support in his native language?
If he has his heart set on playing PWI and has these issues, then he'll just have to do what Sylen said in order to have a prayer of getting them resolved, because all support for PWI is in English (or French and German, if dealing with Morai), and Sylen's almost certainly more competent than Arc's customer support personnel.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Who are you to say what type a game a person should play or not?
I am not saying that Sylen is not competent. All I said is that he shouldnt give such an harsh answer to the OP since OP was decent in his posts. And to thing that people dont want( for various reasons) to educate themself in technical things if they dont have to deal with it 24 hours per day.0 -
Just saying if you have issues and you don't want to deal with the hassle of providing enough information to at least identify the root cause, if not resolve, the issues, go play something else which isn't having the issues.
Coming on here to grouse about problems without providing the level of information Sylen needs to attempt to resolve them, accomplishes nothing except P.O. the people who are kind enough to provide support here gratis. As witness the post you're griping about. Sylen puts up with a ton of BS and gets very little appreciation for what he does.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Why he needs to attempt to resolve them?
Is this is job? Is he forced to help others?
I dont think so. I dont think people asked him personally to give them answers. They asked for anyone that wants to help.
If he wants to he does it . If he doesnt want to help he doesnt have to do it.
If a person doesnt understand what he saying he should just ignore that person. let others( if there are others) to give solutions to that problem. Not going into harsh replaying .
Is very nice from him to try help others but the threads are not ''Sylen help me'' named. So he shouldnt feel anything if people give him very little appreciation
And stop saying to others what to play to relax.0 -
If they're getting frustrated, they aren't relaxing, are they?
And Sylen helps because he happens to enjoy doing so. If he weren't here, we'd have to tell people "send in a ticket" to people who are mostly interns, less knowledgeable than Sylen for the most part, and would need the same information he does to try to resolve the matter.
And no, the threads aren't "Sylen help me", they're "help me", and Sylen is one of the few people here that can, to some extent, help. Customer Support people do not read these forums.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

My last comment on this:
They get frustrated cause they cannot play the game to relax.
And yes threads are '' help me''and he is the few that can give help but its not like he is forced to do that.
Is nice from him cause he tries to help but he must know that not all people may understand him and people dont want to educate themselfs in learning technical things.
People want quick solution for their problems or solution that they can understand fast without them having to do research on what every technical word means.0 -
"Fast solutions without having to understand a modicum of technical stuff" are not possible, for the type of stuff Sylen helps with. If they are getting frustrated with something they do purely to relax, they need to do something else for a while until whatever is frustrating them stops on its own, or they decide to put in the effort to provide the information needed to help.
Bottom line: if they play PWI to relax and it isn't letting them relax because of issues, they need to find some other way to relax.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

i have a question for the pwi staff, is there any rule that says you can not go afk (away from keyboard) while looking through shops in west arch, like if i was shopping for a new item and i just saw that my show was starting, so i rushed over and left my screen up for 1-2 hours, is that against the rules, i can't find any ruling, but some say it is. I just want GM/Pwi staff person to give the official ruling.0

Its not against the rule to go afk while your toon is still loged in.
You can go afk for an infinit amount of time.
The people that told you that either were idiots, either were trolling you.0
