Theoretically, providing a link to the site would not be a violation, but I'm not going to push that boundary.

The mods already removed a link so theory does not apply. The owner of the site is in violation of the TOS and ANY promotion of violation of the TOS is not permitted in the forums, whether its us breaking the rules or someone else.

Oh please, use your brain a bit more, you are obviously breaking rule #24.

If you post a link related to the catshop database, you are obliquely promoting the bot and its creator. People will start to try to find out how to get those clientless catshops, leading to more ToS rule breakers and more possible bans.b:bye

nothing on any site i posted a link to said anything about bots. just a catshop database. b:bye

A database curated by bots, and to which visting is tacit and obvious support of the TOS violation occurring. It is inappropriate to post the link here. This is why the "Support TOS violation" rule exists.

ah. well then shouldn't a thread like this be locked? since all it seems to be doing is producing disscussion about bots and databases made by them prompting people to look for said databases?

It impacts the game so it can be discussed here in the sense of this is a thing that exists/can a GM look into/comment/fix this? It just can't be promoted. And certainly how to profit from it can't be outlined and detailed here. It's a super fine line, I realize.

Frankly I hope they find some way to trace and perma-ban every one of these botters.
Saying they don't affect other people's game is unbelievably naive, or very disingenuous.
Either way, it's palpably untrue; just because they don't use a client doesn't mean they don't use up server bandwidth.
Bad enough this is eaten up by afk catshops/auto-culti botters, adding spammable clientless bots into the mix is a surefire route to the crazy situation pw-cn servers have.
Do you really want to end up with their premium player priority logging system?

Be sure they will never bann those bots. Those kind of bots even don't hurt the company.
I checked out some other games of pwe and even on their blockbusters like Neverwinter they don't care about gold sellers which link their sites whole day long in world chat.
They obviously didn't hire anyone who's monitoring the common chats of all their games.

The so called "management" of pwe might even not understand that a problem like this exists (most of the time you get into those positions due to good contacts and not because you are motivated or smart or even competent).
And the employees/cheap youngsters, which obviously only get 1-year-contracts, only do, what they get told to do (they are scared of getting bad references for the next job).

PWE is nothing special. Last company I worked in had 80 employees. But turnover over the last four years was 150 ppl. Only the incompetent management stayed. Hire and fire. We're all living in America, America ist wunderbar (this is not a love song).
