i have ppl in same household not able to play the game and when they log in it will get all they way up to loading their char into perfect world then instantly disconnected from server. When loading the element client it is basicly saying that they need to try another server to update. Any help would be nice to resolve this issue. (a responce from a gm/mod of knoing this issue is going on would b reassureing that it is getting looked into) thank you for your time.

Sounds like a problem with your connection to the server.

See my sticky for troubleshooting tips, and for the information that you need to post so that I will be able to help you.

ok all theinformation i can give is this.... we have gotten new up to date fast internet service if i could figure out how to post screen shots i would but when pulling up the element client when it goes to verify the files and the patch it sais "update server connection" on the left side of the start button and on the right side is sais "please try other update server". but the start button does light up if clicked on it will pull up the server select screen. then when on a server and choosen a charcter to play clicking enter brings up the loading screen and some times lets you on the game and other times it will disconnect from server almost instantly. But if it lets you on the server once u try to do anything it disconnects from server. i am posting this for those that r in the household that cant play the game and im activly on the game been running around and talking to ppl and we all r using the same internet and im on the wifi they r using a ethernet cable . hope that is enough information and hoping wont have to uninstall and reinstall the game.

The speed/quality of your home network or internet are only a very small part of your connection to the server.

For example, between my PC in Michigan, and the servers I play on in California, there are anywhere between 9 and 16 hops. (number of hops varies by internet route taken)

The first hop is my home network/modem.
The second hop is my ISP.
Then there's a bunch of hops on the internet.
    Then I hit PWE's ISP.
The final hop is the server.

Here's a sample taken moments ago.
    D:\PWI>tracert -h 16 pwigc2.perfectworld.com

    Tracing route to pwigc2.perfectworld.com [66.151.133.71]
over a maximum of 16 hops:

      1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms homeportal [192.168.1.254]
      2 * * * Request timed out.
      3 19 ms 19 ms 19 ms 75.26.64.254
      4 21 ms 19 ms 20 ms 12.83.32.173
      5 75 ms 156 ms 75 ms 12.122.137.217
      6 * * * Request timed out.
      7 77 ms 76 ms 77 ms border2.t7-1-bbnet1.sje004.pnap.net [66.151.144.

      8 78 ms 78 ms 78 ms perfectworld-10.border2.sje004.pnap.net [64.95.1
    43.190]
      9 78 ms 78 ms 78 ms 66.151.133.71

    Trace complete.

    D:\PWI>pause
Press any key to continue . . .

My modem will not return ping requests as I have it set that way to prevent DDoS attacks, which is why there is no response at hop 2.
Hop 6 is the international data hub in Los Angeles. It's been having some real issues lately.
Hop 8 is PWE, and Hop 9 is the server.
That leaves 5 possible points of failure between myself and the server, that are completely out of my control. PWE cannot do anything about them either.

I contacted support, and they told me how to do a trace, so I did, and sent the report to them, and they said to contact my ISP (making it sound as if my ISP was at fault). I contacted Frontier tech support, and they looked at the report, and suggested that the problem lies with Net66. So, I've contacted them, and have yet to here from them. At any rate, here's the trace I did today, and sent to Net66. I guess it'll be a matter of letting PWI, Frontier, and Net66 point fingers at each other, with me in the middle, until I get fed up, and just uninstall PWI forever. Sigh.

After my last post, I noticed something; things drop off at pnap.net. I pinged them, and they timed out. I copied and pasted the address into my Chrome search, and they are down. So, it would appear that the fault lies with pnap.net. Of course, I'm a layman, so I'm probably wrong in part at least, but to the layman's eye, this is what appears to be the case.

They drop off there because it doesn't respond to ping requests. that's not an issue. Also, with the occasional exception of hops 5 and 6, those traces look pretty damn healthy.

Wireless broadband on the other hand.... that's going to be a problem. The quality of service you get from that is somewhere between a 3G cell phone internet with 2 bars, and a satellite dish. Even with good bandwidth, and a good ping, the data streams on that service just suck 95% of the time.

PWI says it's my ISP, Frontier says it's PWI's ISP, PwI's ISP says it's PWI, PWI then says it's on my end, and now you say it's my wireless broadband. I never had this problem until Monday of this week. And I've never had such a run around with fingers pointing to everyone and everything else in the world, and no real solutions offered in my entire life. I swear, even the Federal Government isn't as bad as this! I'm tired of everyone blaming everyone else, or pointing me this way and that! I'm uninstalling PWI, and probably will never be able to play again, if this keeps up. Maybe I should copy and paste all of the conversations I've had, with PWI Support, their ISP's Support, and here, and send them off to Frontier, and demand they investigate? I'm so sick of this.

I feel your pain. I'm not saying it IS the Wireless broadband, I'm just saying that almost everyone I've ever had with a perfect trace with that particular type of issue was using it. And hell, it could still be a hop in-between you and PWE causing it, and the trace just isn't catching it.

I'm so tired of this. I never had a problem like this with PWI before this week. oh, there's always the usual lag, and the occasional disconnect, but I've never not been able to connect before. I'm going to not reply here in this thread any more, however, because I feel like I've hijcked the OP's thread. That's why I started my own thread. Might I suggest moving our conversation there, so that you may help the OP with his problem? (My apologies to the OP.)
