First of all, if there is already a thread with this subject, I sincerely apologize and ask to be redirected to it.

I've been playing on Dreamweaver server for some time, and honestly, I grew quite impatient with the lack of PvP on the server.

Yes, I know there is NW and other instances that may fill the urge to kill some people, but I miss the good ol' white named server with danger in every corner.

I also know that it was a big mistake making my main toons on a PvE server, but I can explain. When starting to play with a friend, I simply picked the one with less ping (DW had 125, iirc).

So i've been wandering if there is, by any chance now or in the future, a server transfer of my toons.

Or even, if PWI could make a incentive to go White named, that would also be fun.

GM response to this. It has not changed since. Also you if want white named 24/7 you will have to move to a PvP server. The only version I know of that has PvP on all servers is China's version. Chances our version will have this is slim to none.

There are currently no options for a server transfer, nor plans of creating any.

Server-side perfect world is a mess.

I don't even think it uses SQL in first place.

Its made with folders containing millions if not billions of text files...

Now to implement server transfer it would be extremely annoying, for 2 reasons:
To back-up player data (copy somewhere else), they MUST stop the servers or they risk corrupting all the data.
To MOVE player data then, 1000x more trouble.

To move a character one server to another it would require to search and sort all player data from one server and drag to another server (during maintenance or full corruption is iminent), and manually open that data and correct duplicate name collisions, etc.

Also, its a different separate folder for name collision checker.

Dude, you have no idea of how bizarre and obsolete server-side Perfect World is.

PWI needs to create something that would give players bragging rights and achievemenst like CORE Connect that would reward players for doing things...
Such as going white names and PvPing...

Also.. you did pick a PvE Server... so.. ya kinda your fault... b:chuckle

Go join big TW guild or do NW a lot.
