Teleport stones working incorrectly

Around 11am Central time I tried using my teleport stones and they suddenly didn't work; the map showed for a split second, disappeared, then in the chat it said 'item use failed'. I contacted support and they suggested to restart my computer, then verify the game's files. When I tried that, the teleport stones either continued to not work, or it would teleport me to the nearest teleport master instead of displaying the map for me to choose a waypoint. All in all, I've used up about 10 stones experimenting and trying to get it to work Support guided me to this forum to discuss the problem. I have opened the 'geographic map' item, but the problem started shortly before I reached a high enough level to gain that item; I do suspect that it may have something to do with the cause of the problem though.

I'm on an HP Pavilion dv6 notebook laptop that is running a 64bit OS and Windows 7. I have never had this problem with PWI before.
