Basic tomes

So I was wondering, what the easiest way to go about just getting a basic tome? The Sage/Demon stuff I'm not even up to yet, so those I can look into later, but right now I'd just love something to stop my mounts from getting hungry...the items to make them seem ridiculous to obtain, a cash shop item and another that's from...something. That I probably can't even get to, knowing my luck.

I have next-to-no cash (I think I have like, 300k right now, which to me is awesome but nothing to the greed of people selling things), and never seem to see anyone selling the basic stuff anyway, so don't tell me to hunt through Archosaur trying to find one. Been there, done that, found nothing.

    The most simple way outside of selling 1 gold and using that coin to buy it would be to do your daily quests from Jolly Jones for a while to earn some coin and then use that coin to buy a tome via the Auction House.

    Can you do those quests if you're over level 80? I'm never sure of those things (and my avatar is a lying thing I can't figure out how to update)
