A shame they don't let volunteers from the community act as intermediaries there. This forum does have (as I understand it) volunteer mods, so why not volunteer "deputy CMs"? No power whatsoever, but those guys or gals could have an ear in the community and game itself, and thus relay the whims and woes of the community to an overworked paid CM in a more condensed form then the CM having to slug through the daily barrage of less-then-kindly-worded threads, and probably a more then a few spicey or barely readable PMs as well.

Added advantage is that folks not paid by PWI are more free to tell others when they're being unreasonable (such as whining for +10 orbs every time a server goes poof for an hour. Or when the server does NOT go poof for a few hours when people expect it to).

Well that isn't thanks to PWE, that's the Cryptic team's extremely high involvement with the community.
They are very active on twitter, but also post quite frequently on FB and the person in charge of those pages actually responds to player's posts and questions to the best of their ability.
From what I have noticed, even though Cryptic has been bought by PWE, they still seem pretty separate and manage their games quite differently.
Yes, you will see posts promoting Neverwinter on PWI's and ARC's pages, but so do the other games when they have bigger updates. It's just that Neverwinter has a ton of events and updates and the sheer amount of the posts compared with the rest seems overwhelming.
I can only assume that their exclusive deal with Wizards of the Coast for the right on D&D stuff gives them larger independence from PWE's grasps.

Yes, yes, I do remember him mentioning when he first started that he was actually in charge of ARC, but I cannot imagine what complete overhaul ARC would be going through that he just disappeared into thin air.
I doubt the 'different name' policy with the other games, but I do get where you are coming from, indeed that would be the only thing that would excuse him.
