Quick rant about refining....

So I take my free slingshot of chaos (95) and decide I want to test it against my Masters Bow (80) to tied me over from 95-100. I'm not going to waste the money binding the slingshot so I use my 5 free tishas and 5 free tienkens (would need to bind the slingshot to use the other free refining aids) 250 mirages later and yep - +0. Awesome. Now I'd already infused with a perfect garnet - 3.4mill coins thinking, "Well at the very least I'll get it to +3" but no, zip.

So I npc's what is about a 6mill weapon since refining sucks so bad, and it got me to thinking that its just another kick in the nuts for new players trying to get ahead........

So pissed off and Sparkie if you read this ****, tell the clowns in China to give me my mirages back since I got jack **** for using them all up.

Refining is really just luck. Sometimes I get what I want quickly, other times I waste a lot of mirages and event gold and still not get what I want.

The system could have been better of course but I don't see them changing it ever. My advice is that if you can't get any decent luck within 50-100 mirages then stop and try another day.

Last week, i used 250 mirages (got with bh100 reward), 16 tienkang and 9 tishas (got with event gold) to refine to +7 my new base helm upgraded with Nation War. So i refined to +7 and free. It is just a luck matter

It all relies on luck.

Me, personally, I am always extremely lucky, my method is:
+0 to +2: mirages
+3 to +5: Tienkang
+6 to +8: Tisha

I don't dare go further than 8. Another thing I do in case my luck sucks so that i don't get so disappointed is that I refine several gears at the same time and let's say (giving you the example of my r9 gear):

All gear is +3
I refine the bracers for example, if i get +4 i move to the next one, if I lose the refines I stay on the bracers until it has +4. Repeat to +5, +6, etc... This way (this probably just works for me since I know myself) I feel like I am not losing anything.

Anyway, don't wanna rub it on your face or anything, but I got my r9 to +5 (whole gear including weapon) with around 150 mirages and made it +7 (weapon not included) with 20...

Like I said at the start, it's all about luck and btw, don't demand your mirages back... If you go to a casino aware of the risks of losing your money and you still play, losing it all in the process, will you complain to the casino's owner? Yup... didn't think so b:cute

Yeah I know....just angry is all....coulda done a lot more with 6mill than nothing.....

Yup, I know the feeling ^^ Sometimes it feels like the whole game is against you xD Just bad luck days... BTW the elder that I usually get lucky at is the Etherblade one (Some people believe the chances are different from elder to elder, I am not among them, but you never know)

When I refine I like to go somewhere where there is no one around.And also if my refine starts to fail a lot I cancel then talk to the elder again.If im doing multiple pieces and one piece fails a few times then ill switch pieces..get a plus 1 then switch to other piece then try for another plus.stuff like that.I never waisted 200+ on one item for no + that's like over kill on bad luck.I usually walk out good with +3 and sometimes 4.With no refine aids.

b:surrender In the six years me and my brother have played we only been able to refine +4 and on rare times like after 2000 mirages +5

i woud say there is something wrong with this game i get the pay to win aspect but even i have to say these odds against you are insane so i say +4 then buy and orb or use a free bound orb if you ever hit +5 stop this game is realy bad.

lol at this. simply put your luck sucks and should have tried on another character or something. there are times you can go through 500 mirages and not get +5, and others it'll only take 10. I eve know lots of people who +8'd all their gear just from tishas and mirages, hell I even +10'd my ring from +0 with mirages alone, got +8/9/10 all my first try xD. So yeah the odds aren't that against you up to around +7, your luck is just ****.

Refining ish indeed all about luck. Some have good, some have bad, Kitty haz terribad.

Kitty remembers how she tried to get her old sin's daggers to +7 with event gold aids and dreamchaser orbs. Result: Hitting +6 4 times by wasting 35mil worth mirages. And Kitty ending up orbing to +7.

Btw, Kitty's noticed Archo's elder doesn't really know his stuff. According to Kitty's observation, LC and EB elders can refine muuuuch better.

I got +7 with under 80 mirages on my g16 helm, and under 200 for my top. legs... I'd say 500. with refine aids.

I was lucky, compared to my rl bf... 2k+ to get his top to +6 (with aids), and another 2k to get his weapon to - get this - +3. ridiculous. we gave up, got it to +3, bought orbs for the rest.

matter of luck, but we're 2 sharing funds, it hurts a wallet qq.

^There is your issue. Me and my wife both have our own aps set, with +10 dags, and +10 helm.
Rest of the gear is +7(done with event gold). The only thing is, she doesn't dip into my wallet, and I don't dip into hers. Refine when you have excess money. Don't spend everything on refining. I myself always save at least 50m incase of emergency before i refine anything. That way I always have AT LEAST 50m.

I have full r9rr+8-10 (full+8 done with event gold), she has tons of expensive flyers.

It's very important you both farm, and spend your money wisely. Figure out which one of you knows to most about refining/sharding. And let that person do the refining/sharding, because it will be better for your budget.

That 2k mirages you used? After you hit that, you should have just paid a refining service to refine the wep, as they are still by far cheaper than D. Orb's.

Also taking advantage of alts is useful. You get free refine aides and bound 1-5 D. Orbs from 1-100, that can be used on bound gear of any lv. You get a 6* orb for arcane X, and a 7* for mirage X. You also get refine aides while leveling sky level. Getting extra event gold codes on alt accounts to refine with.

Also make sure you are using the refine aides properly, as most people do not.

I personally go:

+0-3=mirages
+4-6=tienkang
+7-8=tisha

And orbs for anything afterwards. I can normally refine anything that isnt a wep within 3k mirages to +7 and have yet to refine an item that went over that. 3k mirages=45+mil on my server which is less than a +7 orb.

My personal record it 16000 event gold spent and about 100.000 mirages for one night clicking , my index finger almost fell and i broke 1 mouse plz add dat 2 to list.

I didn't go on the details, but we proceeded that way. we didn't get the lower orbs before +5, (I thought it was +4, but yeah, mirage level gives out +5) considering when the whole new rewards thing came out, we were 97 or 98, and we didn't get the lower rewards for some reason.

that considered, we had to shell out money to get to +4. for me it wasn't so bad, but for HIM, it was terrible.

we couldn't get refining services because both our g16 sets are bound.

we share resources, but to a limit. so if we have let's say 30mil, we're not gonna spend all of that on refining. might spend 10, 15, and if it doesn't work... well better luck next time.

just began reading this thread like 10miins and decided to test my luck with refining my necklace. on my first try i got +5 easy with about 50 mirages b:victory then i got greedy and tried to get +6 b:shutup
