Pet names and evolution

What happen if you rename your pet before evolution, and then you evolve it? Ok the scroll cost only 10k but I don't want to waste them, if evolution overwrite that name :<

If nicknamed, name doesnt change. like pokemon

Desdi - Sanctuary

Yeah nothing really changes apart from the appearance and the added bonuses. Plus the fact that the pet egg becomes character-bound.
