So we recently had a thread (http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1716371) sharing how wonderfully lucky we are. Well its time to commiserate together in the opposite. When were you very unlucky?

Recent instances of extreme unluckiness for me include:
2 straight times defending earth with every single mob being increased life (which made me post on the forums asking if WS was changed because I didn't even think that was even remotely likely, especially twice in a row)

And how for some reason, every physical weapon I make a roll (except my dags) end up with all +mag, and my mag weapons end up with +str roll after roll after roll b:cry


So when are some times you got really unlucky? b:surrender

Joining NW for the first time since months again just to get perma-spawn killed by r9rr + 12 people of a certain faction. While our side was made of like 3 people below 100.

And of course everytime i wanna refine something. I once managed to refine my mystics (bad) weapon to 7. I can refine her armor with tons of ref aids and mirages to max 5. On my sin i dont even try anymore .... I have HORRIBLE luck in refining b:cry

Oh, and everytime i buy some clothes for my seeker i get pink. Every.Time.

I am horrendously unlucky at refining. 11k+ mirages to try +5 my weapon a few years back. Ouch.. on the other hand, a friend of mine +7'd my recast necklace in 3/4 tries. Lucky

Clergywoman - Raging Tide

making several hundred genies to get one 81+ LP
opening way over 10.000 dragon fire pack with no +12
engraving robe to get evasion 4 times in row (on cleric)
refining r9 weapon to +12, shortly before r9r becomes actually farmable
list could go on. i don't even dream of opening pax.

and as signature says:
21 r9recast re-rolls for meh adds (gave up, now i regret it ofc)
over 10.000 mirages to refine r9recast ring (not getting even +7)

SerenityCNB - Dreamweaver

Orbed my Sandy World from +0 to +7...because virtually all attempts failed.

Originally had a G15 Glaive. It failed to drop in WS, but the Sandy World did. Every time it dropped, a squadmate took it. (Usually a sin.) The G16 Glaive finally dropped a year later...so I G16'ed that old glaive...so now I'm walking around with 2 G16 bound weapons. (Until I finally get an account stone.)

Stats on my magic sword before I rerolled it were Str, dex, str. (Or str, dex, crit +1%) I don't remember which of the two now. I just know that it's the exact opposite of what a mage needs.

Screen froze while I was soloing water...yeah. That's fun.

Had plenty of unlucky things happen, and plenty of lucky things. I gave up on being super endgame, or epically geared in this game...so yeah. I settle for moderate stats, A cards, moderate refines, moderate shards, gear that's good enough, etc. I see no point in me trying to endgame it hard as I once aspired to do. So yeah. I'm just drifting along, and as long as the luck isn't too bad. I don't care too much anymore.

Oh. But there is one special ****** that deserves an honorable mention. The elder at sanctuary screwed up my +6 sandy weapon with tishas and tienkangs. He failed it hard, and dropped it from +6 to +0. Even using tishas and tienkangs, he used over 40 of them, and could NOT even get it back to +1. It is at that point that I orbed that weapon from +0 onwards. Because the elder of sanctuary is a failure.

This was lucky for other people and not me. One day I decided that I was truly done with pwi after not logging on for a year. So I logged on, bought some teles and gave items away in world chat. I gave away 11 chrono pages..4 medals of glory, 10k+ mirages, 4 gst's and some other things.
Then a day later my friends asked me to come back. Although I don't really mind..I'm not going to spend time farming my r9 bow..it was just bad timing and I like to hoard things lol. I like to have things in my bank that I'm not using lol.

In over 5 years of playing, I think the only thing I've ever gotten from the many packs I've opened that wasn't tokens, was one spirit charm. I used to do 50 or so when they went on sale, not anymore.

Can't seem to refine for **** since I passed level 80 either. Even on lower level gear.

Refinement.

It's the biggest PITA in this game for me. I have to use the orbs from DC packs to even reach +3 (+1/+2 orbs) while other factionmates are effortlessly refining their items to +8 without orbs. Needless to say I've orbed everything except for +3 and +4.

I'd add C-A packs from FSP to it as well but as I've lost count of howmany I opened and how big the C-streak was. It was around a full war avatar bag full + a half of C's in a row before finally getting another A. Ended up with plenty of maxed C's to make room and saved up for the elusive free S card.

i have been waiting for 2 weeks to get a fws squad, and when i finally get to make one, the moment we start it, i got dc'ed, and keep getting dc for over 15 mins every 30 seconds.

i almost cried

when my net finally gets on, i found another squad, everything was fine till we start the fws, and inmediatly i get dc again.

i guess the universe is trying to tell me i need to stop playing pwi :X

The chance of getting the orb is 1/10000.

This does NOT mean that opening 10k packs will give you one.

The chance not to get the orb is 9999/10 000 or 0.9999.

Rolled 10 000 times that amounts to about 36.8% chance of still not getting it after 10 000 packs.

Opening 20 000 instead would still have a good 13.5% chance of not getting the orb.

You will need to open 92 098 packs to make the chance NOT to get the orb 0.01% (the same as the chance of getting it off a single pack).

in the context, that some people have gotten a +12 orb (or even several +12orbs) with less than 1000 pax makes my 10000 particularly unlucky. i am aware of the math but i am also aware of my luck; even with 100000 pax i wouldn't see a +12orb. b:surrender

also, i am unlucky coz qqing about being unlucky spawns a math lecture instead of a pitty+12 in mailbox. b:chuckle

over 2000 dollars in packs and still no scroll of tome and im not kidding wish there was just straight up option to buy f stupid packs should be two ways to get something earn it or cash shop it no lottery **** i use to spend 200 dollars on packs a month because hypers were great in ff but since the patch i think i spend so far 20 bucks or was it 40? it was for war avatar chest a thats it.

i did get a few gems mostly best of luck and charms and 1 cube of fate stamp oh and stay away from packs that dont give that txt on your main screen that says your opening a pack because they dont give anything but best of luck

also after you win 3 things put in bank your wining log off relog back on

also if you get duplicates stop on packs it will dup useless stuff like faction signets and so on log off relog back on repeat

There are quite a number of times I was really unlucky...I'll probably remember more later and post again but here's two things I remember:


- I got my G16 Nirvana Glaive a week before the Sirens of War expansion. Nobody anticipated how cheap Uncannies/Raptures would be (considering our NW forges are different from China's). I had farmed some but I had also bought a lot of the Raptures because I really wanted my weapon. If only I had waited a little.


- My refining luck has been good so far but there was one time when I had gathered/saved up about 5k event gold from promos, DQ point system etc. to attempt +9s on my gear. Once I felt ready I decided to try refining my +8 R9rr leggings to +9. I failed spectacularly, wasted 4k event gold and many many mirages. I wasn't even able to get back to +6 at least, let alone getting my +8 back. Needless to say I literally ragequit the game that day.



On another note, I've opened a number of packs and never got anything beyond a couple of spirit charms and regular tokens. I've opened Dragonfire packs too but the best I've gotten is a few 5*s.

2 Things I like to mention:

R8r Boots:

120-ish rerolls while mats have been extremely expensive (pre NW).

Another 800-ish rerolls after NW has been released. I regret that I used the forge to keep the previous stats. Thing is I got my -int + 6 dex + 9 magic after like the 170-ish roll. Too bad that my client decided to just bug report before I could hit the "keep the new stats"-button.

Guess what? Stats have been the way they have been before and I never saw int on the boots again. I easily spent like 2b coins on the boots alone for nothing.

Luckily tho, I got double int on my r8r chest on 2nd try xDDD So I decided to roll full r9rr and just switch to the chest and int robe for apsing stuff. Turned out to be way more OP then using 2 r8r parts.

The second worst thing that happened was kind amy own fault. I tried to refine my G16 helmet to +10 w/o orbs like I did with my r9 boots and my g16 robe. I got the helmet to +9 over 70 times and wasted a total of 40k mirage and 4500 Event Golds on the helmet alone. Ya, only to just use 2 10* Orbs at +8 cuz I eventually gave up.

If you would calc the event gold to plat charms...then hell...I could've bought a already +12, josd helmet for less then I have wasted. But oh well, thats just refine xD My boots only took 120 mirages and 20 event golds and have been +10...so.

EDIT: One thing that recently happened that is more of a troll from the game then it has been bad luck.

I only lack the Chigo A-Card from the EU set now for around 3 months. Together with the A-Packs with drake and all I openened ~5 A-Packs each day. No chigo (tho I got all other cards first reborn alrdy and the longe card 2nd, so it wasn't for nothing).

The fun thing is...my sin reached astral sky 5 and got the 3 a-packs u gain from it...and guess what. My sin got 2 freaking Chigos outta the 3 boxes. Ya, the game trolled me alot during those 6 years already...but I never got trolled that bad. Ya Not like I wasted like 4b coins in possible C-Pack-Sales alrdy on those friggin A-Packs...but oh well, who needs full +12 anyways. Still counting the days to finally get my Chigo QQ wish me luck xD

38 consecutive 3-2 runs in a 2x, without getting a single gold mat. b:shocked I stopped counting after that.

Lastnight i was in cube and finished a cof so i had to wait the 30 min to fix my next cog then about 5 min later im ported back to room 1.... I forgot i had a bomb on me lol

I have had good refining luck, but also very bad one. Over 4k mirages to +7 my T3 helmet... didnt even bother to count tishas/tienkangs used.

I never tend to get gold drops or such when in random squads in TT etc

Once I did Cube, got to Very Bored, proceeded to Life Diverged, Again and got sent back to Very Bored thanks to the death mark, then BACK to life diverged, back to very bored, life diverged, very bored, life diverged... b:chuckle

I rolled 2x 19 dex and 19 str roll on my cleric's wand

Pretty much like everyone else, horrible refining luck. Can't get anything beyond +3... no matter what Elder I visit. They all hate us!

Disconnects happening at quite important moments in my gaming life, I suspect my internet is being hijacked by goblins.

... Unhappily and unluckily missed out on many things due to several ragequits and character deletes in the past. Now I know better.

5 TT runs done in the past one after the other in which nothing but chi stones dropped, which still left me with a sour dislike for running that instance solo.

'Glitching' at inappropriate times with very weird voodoo. Most recently, making my PV token magically disappear. b:surrender

No matter what I do, when running Cube my fox gets dropped in Dragon Gate EX, the bane of her fluff. Still researching a way to escape that place's unyielding 'love'. Work in progress.

Not even going to rant too much on the packs I buy giving only regular Tokens... Gambling isn't for everybody, definitely. >_>

Using wrong stone to try +11 refine on weapon should be enough to be unlucky :x Used Tienkang stone instead of Tisha and bang refine went to 0. Thanks PWI for at least giving back +9 refinement

I've always been unlucky with getting squad by wc:ing. Forming squad is even worse. Going into TT with strangers is always trust issue.
Sometimes I wonder if I just can't express myself properly and people will just ignore me since I use english as foreign language. But there is always someone who is worse in english than me.

- My refining luck just sucks. I need orbs and tienkangs/tishas.
- Before Nien beast was in boutique, there was fire red pack. Nope nope

I ended up with something better, and even rarer than Terra's Embrace: Eldritch. She's also sexier, even if she is basically a dark butterfly. b:laugh
