So... I've played pwi for a few years, took a half year break, and come back to see stuff in the forums about an "Earning Time"... and supposedly it's here to stop botting.
(Redownloading game atm)
Now see, the problem with that is Im one of those players that sometimes mindlessly grinds for 4 to 10 hours (Depending on work schedual) on the same mobs... because I enjoy it.... and am actually THERE physically controlling my toon the WHOLE time... Does this mean I can get punished for playing this way? PWE wtf... you are tempting me to forget about ur game all together....

8h of earning time does not mean 8h of playing time...
Earning time depletes only if you are in combat mode (Attacking or being attacked).
And if what you said is true that you keep doing the same mobs over and over and over again 4-10h per day... Congratz, you're the 0.1% of the population affected that way by earning time.

I've done testing on this and its actually only attacking, being attacked does not reduce earning time.
As well being in warsong/lunar supposedly reduces earning time even without fighting.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

There's probably like 5 other people doing the same thing as you in the total player population. Do you really expect them to cater to you...?

I know someone who farmed spiders during some months, 8-10 hours daily, to get full R9 and a pangu time, but he did quit like one month after that.

Kitty used to farm a lot, too. Long ago.

I say the OP is a troll..takes one to know one right.
Anyways don't worry about earning time,if you have to grind 8 hours then your playing the game wrong,your playing th game wrong if you play it for 8 hours!Anyways earning time is like back in the day when you were given a certain amount of minutes on a cellphone and you were cautious with them but later on you realize you don't use as much minutes as you should and then never worry about it.
So all here please stop crying about earning time. ty

Yeah it's great when you have a quest to kill 100 mobs but that usually doesn't happen.Because China gave up on fighting botters directly. The DQ price nerfs, changes to low level decomposition, and adjustment of low level instance drops were all attempts by China to deal with their botting issue that failed. So then they created the auto-cultivation system to let everyone bot... but their auto-culti had earning time from day 1 as a way of saying "Bot all you want but after X time it won't help you and will make squads reject you because of its negative impact".
When we got auto-culti, we didn't have earning time included in it the way China does... which is a very bad thing considering what botting does to a game. With the update changing a large amount of our settings to be like China's (happens every time there's a major update) we now do have the built-in dissuasion to botting.
Also quests are getting another revamp in a coming expansion, so we likely won't have any of those "Kill 80 of X for less EXP than you got killing them" quests anymore.(Insert fancy image here)
